[To salt this fresh pile of sand I offer two bagatelles from the news. The Great Divide posited and discussed in these pages is now being recognized more and more by media commentators. The newest label – “America’s cavernous divide” – comes from Fox News. And then there’s the unrecognized faux pas of Speaker Ryan who exhorts Trumpsters about unvetted Muslim immigrations, stating that such “bans” should be “security based and not religion based” while not recognizing that today they are equivalent when the religion is Islam. gjr]

Fried Fish
Kingman, Az? Did a job there once for 8 long weeks. Windy every day in the fall and was put in a nice motel……100 feet from the tracks. Rock-a-bye baby. Funny, when I got back home, I missed the sound of the train to put me to sleep. Never missed that non stop wind. Lucille Ball had a house there in Kingman many moons ago. Met a nice local at a bar on Andy Devine Blvd. So nice I brought her back to California….for a few weeks. She left and went back all upset at me. Was it something I said?
Fish, don’t bother with Bullhead City or any other town in Mojave County, Az. Thank goodness your car did not break down outside Blythe on a 118 degree day and the only shoes you had to hitchhike across the desert for help in was a pair of new too tight cowboy boots. No worries. It’s one of the longest days of the year. Better you and the little lady than moi. You be da man! Man against the elements! Try some watermelon. Can’t hurt.
Yo Walt. Are you certain you did not pull Fish’s index finger? Print is too dark. Us old geezers don’t do change gracefully.LikeLike

Administrivia – the boldface remained in the comments because that intrepid HTML programmer Mr fish in his 340pm terminated the boldface with the syntax for terminating italics. Hence we were blessed with boldface from there on. I have repaired the damage.
Any commenter can do that all by himself by just typing the termination syntax for boldface or italics at the beginning of his comment. The termination syntaxes are ‘less than’, ‘forward slash, (i or b), ‘greater than’.
Here’s the URL for HTML syntax –

Well Fish, you really did a no-no this time. All is forgiven and forgotten. Here is something to make your owie go away:
“U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz broke down in tears Saturday with almost three dozen union members flanking her at a press conference, attempting to highlight her support among organized labor groups after the Florida AFL-CIO declined to endorse her last week .”
Oh no, not crocodile tears! Wait, this is Florida. Oh no, not alligator tears!

Fish, head back to Sedona, ASAP. It’s the Summer Solstice tomorrow night coupled with a once every 70 year Strawberry Moon. Strawberry Moon is Native American lingo, FYI. Get back down there and watch all the Zombies descend out on the red rock canyons as the stars, moon, and spiritual vibes all align for one big intergalactic love fest. It’s the greatest show on Earth…nay, the greatest show in the universe, without the circus elephants. Come on man, it’s an once in a lifetime experience. Many moons will pass before it comes back….and we will all be dead. Don’t waste this Golden opportunity. Go back to Sedona and tell the little lady or the wedding hosts you forgot something. Improvise….you be Da Man!

Good find there Mr. Walt. I feel that Saul made some excellent agruments. Can’t dispute any of his points. Must say he was a great tactian as well as an unparalleled strategist. They simply will be unprepared to deal with this. Unchatered terroritory that will be sure to make 2016 an election year to remember. I am still riding that bull all the way into the dirt and then I will still be hanging on.
BTW, according to the Berner media, there was no Berner Bros. They did not exit. It was all a lie circulated by the Clinton Campaign. They made the whole thing up and yelled at Sen. Sanders for not telling the Bernie Brothers to cool it with the vile rhetoric. It was all a downright Conspicacy. This is too sweeeeet.
Wondered why Bernie suddlenly said he was not telling anybody nothing about piping down on line, just his crowds. And there is Bubba taking calls from the Friends of Bill and Hillary Club crying on the phone to Bill about all the nasty things those Bernie Bros were saying on line about Hillary and were especially vile to the sweet old ladies who tried to defend their friend, Hillary. Unspeakable words were directed at Hillary’s friends. Heck, they knew her in high school.
Interesting year. Oh, BTW, that may have been another Clinton conspiracy, but it wasn’t the Bernie Bros composing such vulgarity. It was that renegade Injun. What else is there to do in the middle of the night?LikeLike

Fish, that does not bear well for our local lush. What a slip on the tongue when he described the lush green trees, the fluffy white clouds, the blue skies…….he should have stopped at the lush and turned around. If he has a problem with that, he should of blamed his legislature for banning alcohol and wife abusers like him from ever purchasing a firearm.
What a lush. Probably like the reporters assigned to Washington who go to the bar in DC and submit their stories by the deadline. “A source close to the White House who Spoke on the condition of anonymously says…..” Yep, the bar is close to the White House and the source is a fellow journalist lush at the bar who would be rather embarrassed if he/she was revealed as “the source”. Too funny. Or, it could the same lush in the bar close to the White House that wrote the story and used his sock puppets as his source.
By Jove, all politics are local. My Turkish friend told me…..blah, blah, blah. My conservative friend told me he will never vote for Trump, blah, blah, blah.
The bartender did tell him it’s closing time and his credit had been revoked. Time to pay the tab. Boy, that is enough to piss off the Pope when you are the protected class.LikeLike

The jokes seem to write themselves……
Shooting an AR 15 made him emotional, and then the internet was mean to him.
“Not quite back on topic but moving in that direction…
Yesterday Gersh Kuntzman with the New York Daily News wrote about his emotional reaction to firing an AR 15:“Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).
The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don’t know what you’re doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”This display of journalistic pants wetting predictably lead to much fun being had at Kuntzman’s expense. Today Kuntzman came back for more, hilariously complaining about all of the emails he received calling him a girly man:
…the majority of email senders trained their laser sights on my masculinity — often in graphic terms that would sound more appropriate in a magazine about erectile dysfunction or an ad for Depends.
…Others sent me videos of 7-, 10- and 12-year old girls firing the same weapon I fired — except these kids were smiling. For those who haven’t fired a semi automatic .223 rifle, I should point out that while the videos he received are no doubt examples of conservatives being enamored with girlpower, they aren’t feminist hyperbole. These rifles are in fact very polite to shoot, and a child can manage the recoil*. I first fired a .223 in grade school. It was my uncle’s varmint rifle, and I loved it because it was so easy to shoot. It had more kick than my Ruger 10/22, but was far more pleasant to shoot than any other rifle I had fired.
The funny thing is that after Kuntzman’s second piece I no longer think he made the whole thing up for propaganda effect. I now believe he was serious when he wrote that firing an AR 15 made him “irritable and jittery for hours”. While shooting a rifle made him weepy, getting made fun of on the internet made him too afraid to write articles about guns. Won’t some big strong man come and save him?Besides, if masculinity is defined by the power to commit violence on a wide scale, I proudly choose femininity. At one time, “being a man” meant standing up for what you believe in — and against injustice. By that definition, we need more real men in power taking on bullies like the NRA, which seeks to bolster the Second Amendment by shutting down opponents’ right to the First. We can’t even debate guns in this country, thanks to the gun lobby.
“We can’t even debate guns in this country, thanks to the gun lobby.”
When do you whiny twats ever stop whining about guns?

Regarding recoil of the .223/5.56 round, it’s around 5 ft-lbs. Actual hunting rounds generate four (the .308 Winchester) to five (30-06) times the recoil… those are also originally military rounds. The thirty ought-six started as a thirty caliber bolt action battle rifle round circa 1908.
In other words, the story that even the fully automatic versions of the M-16 rifle was never intended to ‘kill as many people as is possible in the shortest amount of time’… it was designed to wound, not necessarily kill. Wound is better on the battlefield as it takes manpower to render aid and evacuate the wounded. The dead can wait longer.
A ten round 12 gauge pump shotgun filled with double ought rounds is far more devastating than any .22 rifle, and speed loaders allow phenomenal reload times… and more can be added before the thing’s empty… a skilled homicidal maniac might not ever be standing there without a round in the chamber ready to be overpowered.
In short, we should be thankful the average maniac isn’t very smart.LikeLike

Donald Trump’s paternal grandfather immigrated to the US from Germany and anglicized his name, a practice with a long, honorable history. The name was Trump for the birth of Donald Trump’s Dad, and Trump for the birth of the guy running for President.
Here we have the angry sock puppet “Jon Dozer” (an apparent nom de net of one Jeff Pelline who has been unable to control himself here in the past) calling Donald Trump by the grandfather’s original name only because he think’s it sounds funny.
Grow up, Jeff. No wonder The Union canned your ass. Unlike your “Dozer” name, the Drumpf to Trump name change wasn’t made in order to hide their identity to throw mudballs with plausible (to some) deniability.LikeLike

Poor Trump. Down by 5 after all this mayhem….not! Down by only 4 against That Woman, Ms. Clinton. Gained a point. Go figure. Not bad for June. More bad press and he will be down by 3 Sweet. Heck, look how Super Twat and her once Best Friend Forever formrr DNC Debbie pulled out all the stops to shake Bernie off her cankles. If she struggled against that old socialist in a center right country, image how much effort she will expend to shake Trump.
Poor Granny. She will most likely have another fainting spell and bonk her noggin again. Maybe this time the fall will jog her memory so she can remember what lie she should spout to which audience. That would be making progress….
Poor Debbie. Kicked to the curb. In fact, I feel sorry for both of Hillary’s 2008 campaign co-chairpersons. Debbie crying on stage at a primary press conference and Virginia Gov. Terry going down via a FBI corruption probe.
Aligning yourself too close to My Gal turns out to be a bad career move.
Down by 4? Heck, Trump should be down by 18. What in the tarnation is going on here? Just gotta wait for new developments. Afterall, Hillary’s plan to swoon all the millennials and have them flock to her was….drumroll please…to send Chelsea out to talk to the young folk. That apparently has been a bad career move for Chelsea as well.LikeLike

Dead heat in Ohio, a battleground state, by Quinnipiac
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/oh/ohio_trump_vs_clinton-5634.html
With the LIB and Green tickets added, Clinton loses 2% and Trump loses 4%.
I won’t be voting Trump but the machinations of the “Dozers” of the country is a clear case of whistling past the graveyard. The BBC Worldservice (I listen regularly) last night was suggesting Clinton’s “difficult relationship with the truth” (a Carl Bernstein construct) was the reason she was so unpopular, and it’s not going to get better.
Some turds just won’t keep a shine no matter how hard you buff. At least Trump says what he thinks the truth is.LikeLike

Read an interesting article the other day. It said 60% of links people share they do not even read themselves. Quilty. Not 60% for me, but I have on occasion posted something I have not read just cause I liked the headline. Conversly, I read about 2% of Mr. Dozer’s mangina posts, if that. Ok, made it zero, a nice round number. Already know what Momma’s little man has to say before he even puts those stubby fingers to his keyboard when Momma lets him or leaves the room. He needs more adult supervision to put it kindly.
I read all of Gregory’s and Fish’s posts because I pick up good insights and even knowledge. Like that early scene of Animal House when the camera pans to the statue of The Thinker, the inscription reads “Knowledge is Good.” Oh yeah, I read Mr. Steele and Dr. Rebane’s posts just to see if they have caught up to Walt yet. Smiley face.LikeLike
