When you shoot yourself in a foot that youโ€™ve already stuck in your mouth, thereโ€™s a good chance youโ€™ll blow your head off.

Today California and five other states render their verdicts in the presidential primaries.  And what boggles my mind are the choices that I and other Americans are presented by the countryโ€™s major political parties.  One is a lying, thieving, corrupt crook with no demonstrated skills in statecraft.  And the other is an egomaniac with the demonstrated communication skills of an irritated 3rd grader on the school playground, also with no demonstrated skills in statecraft.

VotingParaphernaliaThe shrill progressive candidate promises to deliver a Clintonesque version of Obama 3.0 (complete with expanded services the Clinton Foundation can then offer to world leaders and corporatists) while continuing to usher the US on a path to domestic autocracy and failed European socialism cum globalism.  While correctly pointing out why Americans are disgusted with government, the haircut confuses objectives with plans to achieve said objectives with โ€˜Just trust me to make America great again.โ€™  But sporting a world-class diaphanous skin, this TV star can easily be pulled off message by any real or imagined slight to his inflated persona.  And there we see him today taking aim at guess which foot.

So what to do?  Vote for the surefire crook and lying progressive without a resume, or the braggart who has at least demonstrated he can manage companies and make money in the market place.  The problem is that all the worldโ€™s bad guys know that Hillary is a corrupt hockey puck, but they know nothing about and are more than apprehensive of the guy with the loud mouth.  Given these considerations, and that The Donald will be more inclined to work with Congress and surround himself with smart people (which, save Gates, Obama couldnโ€™t for eight years), we firmly affixed nose clamps and voted for Trump.

[8jun16 update]  Congratulations are in order to Ms Heidi Hall for her successful campaign to become Nevada Countyโ€™s newest Supervisor.  And if the lady remains true to her ideological heritage, then condolences are also in order for our county.  In any event, Duane Strawser showed us all that a lackadaisical approach to elective office will not work, especially for a newcomer going against a handsome, experienced, and energetic opponent.  And that doubly so when about a third of your supportive constituents sit on their collective ass instead of getting up the gumption to vote.

Add Ms Hallโ€™s victory to the debate on Measure W and its downfall yesterday, and it becomes clear why our sheriff and the current BoS wanted to constrain the latitude of future supervisors in crafting ordinances about MJ production in our county.  While I was not in favor of legislating the countyโ€™s MJ production rules through popular initiatives, I remain supportive to the concerns and predicted impact that outdoor grows have on our quality of life and local economy.  The new BoS will now have a go at reshaping โ€˜emergencyโ€™ Ordinance 2405.

From a higher vantage our Republicans really donโ€™t have a leg to stand on as they lament the spread of progressivism into the hinterlands.  If they cannot make a suitable (palatable?) case for the Right-thinking grass roots to vote, then we all will suffer from Americaโ€™s current blight of rampant collectivism as we recall the history of socialism unopposed.  It was ever thus.

Giving credence to your “last great century of man” thesis as well as reinforcing the Menckenesque notion…..‘Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

George, credit for calling out some of the (many) terrible traits of the GOP nominee. Neglected to mention- racist tendencies and statements (to be mild). He’s a full blown racist in my eyes, and now with GOP big wigs calling him on that topic, while he doubles down, his clear racism is going to stick to the guy the remainder of the year.
You also state he would be more inclined to work with Congress?? On which basis do you see this? Dems are at least 50/50 to capture the Senate, and the House GOP still contains a ton of pure-bred Tea People. Also not sure at all he would surround himself with smart people, as smart people will generally be of independent thought. Usually not a compatible trait with that relentless egomaniac.

With GOP pols stepping up the Trump criticism over the racist comments on the judge (and women/Muslims in the judiciary), with the end of the Dem race at hand, watch the polls tilt back toward Hillary, for an extended run of Clinton +5-7 (aggregate) during the summer months. This aggressive doubling down about the judge is a major miscalculation, and a big one. With more and more former GOP cowards (and popular politicans to their constituents) coming out of the darkness to rip into Drumpf, watch his polls sag relative to Hillary in the next few weeks. He’s in a serious box now, cannot really go back at this late stage and admit he was so wrong about the judge. Huge miscalculation on this one.:).

George, what indication do you have that Trump will work with anyone – let alone the Republican party? He is a loner that won’t even take advice from his campaign managers. Is this the day American died? (or Nov 8th) Two worse choices voters have ever had to make.

Patricia, its been pretty apparent for a few weeks now that it will be Clinton/Trump. Far from ideal, but it never has been. The best American leaders have never sought the Presidency, or been drummed out by dark forces. Bernie’s presence will be felt mightily in the Dem platform, and Liz Warren is the odds on VP right now. You sound like a Gary Johnson voter in November, so there’s another choice for many that will make a difference.

Boy, if Mr. Trump can make it to September being down only 10-12 points, that would be the definition of the sweetest of sweet spots I could ever hope for. A ten point lead in politics can disappear in a week. Heck, Hillary was up over Bernie in CA by 30 a month ago.

BillT 205pm – Good catch on Sotomayor Mr Tozer. However, I must again remind us all that racism is an affliction isolated to the Caucasian breeds especially of the male gender. Given two identical observations or propositions one by a white man and one that has claim to minority status, it is only the white man who can be judged racist. This is an indelible progressive truth, immune to any and all systems of reasoned counter-argument.

I am confused as to which one is the crook. The fact that anyone would vote for Trump is a classic example of just how divided America has becomeโ€ฆAlmost the same can be said of Hillary; she, at least for the most part, has served the public rather than herself (no more nor less than any other politico). Voting for Trump seems to be more of a knee-jerk emotional reaction than a thoughtful assessment of the pros and cons. The fact that Wall St. doesn’t like Trump ought to be warning enough. Reagan’s son has come out to say he won’t vote for Trump and neither would have his father. From a global standpoint, Trump more resembles the fearless leader from N. America is in a transition. Just like the old clock pendulum theory. We are inundated with laws and regulations and police power for everything as placed by the liberals. And the country is reacting to that by placing a unfiltered free market capitalist in a position to perhaps douse those flames of liberalism. Who the heck knows though. I am confident that if Trump wins he will surround himself with smart people who think like me. If not, we will have a indicted President in Hillary who sold access to Muslim nations who enslave their people and rape their women.

At least there were plans and steps taken to try to improve the region. Drumpf is making everything up as he goes, and hasn’t a clue about the complexities of foreign policy. How many congressional investigations that concluded there was no foot dragging, wrong doing, or any other avoidable circumstances does it take for you to see the truth? Probably none, because you only believe what reinforces your ideology, in this case ” Hillary is a crook, therefore, anyone, including Trump, is acceptable. And, of course, the whole Benghazi affair and the fact that all of the investigations turned up nothing was only because of some kind of cover-up. People’s minds will go to great lengths to avoid an inconvenient truth.
I am no fan of the Clintons but not because I think they are somehow incompetent, like Trump, but because they are goons for the multinational conglomerates and holding companies. Re Hillary and Benghazi – there are no congressional investigations that have concluded that Hillary didn’t lie (multiple times) about the cause of the attack, and that State is still dragging its feet in not responding to multiple congressional investigations. The following is from just one of them –
Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and therefore may not necessarily reflect the views of their Members,”[4] was critical of the Obama Administration’s actions before, during, and after the attack. Among dozens of findings, the report states that:
    * “Senior State Department officials knew that the threat environment in Benghazi was high and that the Benghazi compound was vulnerable and unable to withstand an attack, yet the department continued to systematically withdraw security personnel”
The “[Obama] Administration willfully perpetuated a deliberately misleading and incomplete narrative that the attacks evolved from a political demonstration caused by a YouTube video.”
    * “… after a White House Deputies Meeting on Saturday, September 15, 2012, the Administration altered the talking points to remove references to the likely participation of Islamic extremists in the attacks. The Administration also removed references to the threat of extremists linked to al-Qa’ida in Benghazi and eastern Libya …”
    * “The Administration deflected responsibility by blaming the IC [intelligence community] for the information it communicated to the public in both the talking points and the subsequent narrative it perpetuated.”

What will the wicked witch of the East promise them for their vote? More free shit?
Now the real cage match gets going. The street fighter Trump, and the queen of dirty pool Clinton. Two go in,,,,, ONE comes out.
The LIB DOJ will never slap the cuffs on Clinton now, no matter how many laws she broke.
I do believe it’s time to get the reloading machine up and running. LIBS are sore losers.
