    Got an e-mail from a life long R friend in Colorado. He said the Republican Establishment refused to give Trump one delegate and refused to let him vote on the matter. He went out and regeristered as an Independent yesterday.
    I just wrote back that he was premature. Told him to look at the breaking news happening now. The Colorado Republican Establishment can go pound sand. In a weird, strange twist of events, the CO Establishment just backed Trump.
    Everybody loves a winner. Everybody hates a loser, as evidenced by Fish’s excellent 8:11 m link.
    Walt, they put a higher fence at the Forest Hill Bridge. I used to stop right on the bridge at night, tie a rope to the bumper, and engage in some awesome crazy bungee jumping. What a refreshing rush in the cool night air. Did it sober….back in the day about 6-8 years ago. If you think that is abit over the line, you guys should have seen what I thought was fun 30 years ago. Oh Jon would definitely not recover from those stories. :). Next in line at the Bridge, please. Hey, Auburn is closer than Lover’s Leap up Yuba Gap. Always a silver lining.

    I’ve mentioned here previously that I subscribe to several lefty mailing lists. They have, in the last month, tended more toward, “Boo, them” rather than, “Yea, us.” This didn’t make me any less surprised when, just moments go, I received an email from Democrats.org with the subject, “Introducing the Stop Trump Fund‏”. The body text read, “Every little bit counts when it comes to stopping the Party of Trump — can we count on you to be part of our official Stop Trump Fund?” This was followed by their typical contribution format.

Nothing a red reset button can’t fix.
    Hillary does two fundraisers for every public appearance she makes. Been that way since Iowa. More money will fix everything….except about a third of her baggage.
    Now, if I was a simple peasant keeping watch over the sheep, I’d be running scared as well.

    Hey Don, what happened to all those Dems you claimed have reregistered as Repubs? YubaNet reports that so many people have registered as Dems to vote for Bernie that they now outnumber Republicans in this county by 1,200 people. But don’t worry, the Dems have done everything in their power to push the Berners away, so I imagine those numbers will flip again on June 8th.

    Boy, this would be great. Two firebrands duking it out on stage, telling their respective Establishments to take a hike. Both campaigns are running things as they wish, not as they are told to do it. If DNC Debbie throws up a roadblock against a non-sanctioned Dem event, tough. Trump is making it into a “charitable event to raise money for women in need.” Nice. Hillary? I don’t see no stinkin’ Hillary.

And you could be right. The Dems have done everything they can to sway this election for HRC. Falsifying registrations would not surprise me in the least.

    Oh Walt, you gotta get out more. Shop at the Patch some Saturday, take in the Wild and Scenic festival, hit up Three Forks for lunch someday. You’ll see the difference. Lots of young people, majority progressive. Yes Walt, the area and our residents have evolved. The people moving here don’t wear hardhats with flags and they drive lots of cars you don’t like. And that’s a very, very good thing!

    A little clarification. I wish I had my own business. But have been gainfully employed.
    I work where this is something to do. The one thing I can crow about, is I owe NO ONE.
    Everything is PAID FOR. House, land, cars and toys. (and guns) I have done my service to GOD and country, AND county. It’s someone else’s turn.

    I steer clear and wonder WTH is going on with them. Every progressive I know in my social circles works a good FT job, most own a home, many have advanced degrees, and all pay their income AND property taxes. But yes Walt, I know how stereotypes can be fun for your crowd. Simplicity, black and white, good vs. evil- clinging to those bibles and guns, yes I know how those things gives you a lot of comfort.     Todd, despite your condescenting assumption, I have worked since I was in high school. I was a Motion Picture Costume Designer for 25 years until I retured early to focus on my activism. Btw, our work week STARTED at 60/hours and went up from there. So much for lazy dope smokers.

We have several common friends in the wine and restaurant biz, and I think he runs one of the highest quality regional food/wine magazines in the country, but our opinions and observations are often from quite different angles.
