[I am reminded by fellow blogger and pundit NC Scooper that a fresh sandbox has not been provided for the widely read, erudite (often in their own special way), and opinionated readers of this humble blog. So let us again come together for “The time has come,” the Walrus said,”to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings.” So I pose a question often asked by astute observers like cartoonist Ramirez, ‘Is our President a Muslim or a communist, or (insert plausible answer here)?’ gjr]

The UK Telegraph: We are facing an unprecedented age of terror.
The ethnic cleansing of Christians around the world is one of the great crimes of our age.
The aim of Isil is political: to re-establish the Caliphate and make Islam once more an imperial power. But there is another aim shared by many jihadist groups: to silence anyone and anything that threatens to express a different truth, another faith, a different approach to religious difference. That is what lay behind the attacks on the Danish cartoons; on Catholics after a speech by Pope Benedict XVI; the murder of Theo van Gogh; and the attacks on Charlie Hebdo. The calculation of the terrorists is that, in the long run, the West will prove too tired to defend its own freedoms. . . .
Where is Obama’s outrage over this ethnic cleansing? What are he views on ethnic cleansing? More importantly, what are his actions to protect Christians who are facing “an unprecedented age of terror?” Oh?LikeLike

The worst school in the county (by the only objective measure we’ve had, the discontinued STAR/API/Similar School lists) is effectively shut down for a couple weeks because 70% of the student body claimed exemption for the measles vaccine and the inevitable happened… one of them caught the measles and came to school with it. It will be longer if more come down with it.
Here’s hoping these fresh measles cases remain uncomplicated.LikeLike

“Jon” 9:22 is even more lacking in intellectual honesty than usual. Public employee unions in half the country already operate with the rules the plaintiffs had sought for California and a few other states. They once were the rule in California, too, before Jerry Brown V1.0 gave us California Public Employee Unions Gone Wild, contrary to the wise counsel of FDR.
Guaranteed kickbacks to the Democratic Party from public employee’s paychecks… what’s not for a Jon to love?LikeLike

As far as what Obama’s ideology is, it is safe to say by his words, actions, and deeds past and present that President Obama is a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer and advocate. Nothing I see counters this fact.LikeLike

Another “green” company is going under. And a BIG one.
” SunEdison – the world’s largest green energy company – you would have made a killing as its shares plunged further this week, amid rumours that it now faces imminent bankruptcy.
SunEdison, valued at $10 billion in July 2015 is now worth just $400 million today. This represents a catastrophic loss for the investors gulled into this sector in the mistaken belief that “clean” energy is the future and that it’s possible to make lots and lots of money and polish your environmental conscience at the same time.”

More evidence of progressive malice: Last year, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, made a similar statement.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said in anticipation of last year’s Paris climate summit.
“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”LikeLike

jon 723pm – Mr jon, you really should read the piece more carefully, at least with care equal to the wordsmithing that went into it to convince the lightly read that the latest ‘ice models’ were really predicting something more reliable than the demonstrably unreliable GCMs have been able to do. Hint: what meat there is in the article comes in the last half which presumably the intended audience will never have the fortitude to wade through.

“jon” represents the bulk of the idiot class who can’t read well and comprehend worse. No wonder he supports Bernie. Anyway I am quite familiar with the meaning of certain words since I was involved in many of them in the Nevada County General Plan. Would, could, shall, will, etc. are very important. So I went to the “jon” link and saw this headline copied to here.
“Climate Model Predicts West Antarctic Ice Sheet Could Melt Rapidly”
The word “predicts” jumps out first. “Could” is right there too. Really wimp ass words for a strong scientific finding eh?LikeLike

Now, just what has worried me. Political correctness along with overzealous promotion of an individual’s race ahead of everything under the sun run amok is heading in one direction and one direction only: Seperate but equal. Or, sometimes is Seperate and not equal. I usually mock the liberals on college campuses with their silly ridiculous notions. Not no more. They carry these idea so straight into government where it becomes Standard Operating Procedure. Dangerous and heading back to segregation. Bad.
The college students that demanded and received a co-equal student government (one for blacks, one for every else) along with black only dorms equates to segregation and racism in its full shame.
The libs today are moving more to the likes of Malcom X and Rev. Jeramiah Wright and farther away from the words of Dr. Martin King.
Libs see everything through tthe tunnel vision of race.

No need to hit the panic button there little buddy. This is called a lull in the action and the press has too much time on their hands. I am riding the Bull known as the The Donald into the dirt and then some. One of us will have the last giggle, but not in March.
My Gal has some headwinds coming by May, but let’s wait and see. Yes, my Man the Trump is in a rough spot right now, but he is still around after every PAC and politician and foreign government has opened up the bays and are carpet bombing him. Gee Whiz, is that all the entire globe has?? Taking a good haymaker and a few roundhouse swings from you and the Whole Wide World, but taking it like a man. Heck, this ain’t no whimpy Olympic Boxing 3 round contest. Nope, this is a 12 round bare knuckle title fight and My Man Trump is still stretching and playing with y’all. Once he gets all limber like and into his rhythm, this should get a lot more exciting.
BTW, every headliner today and ALL last night is lead by Trump. I know, I woke up at 2:00 am and nothing but Trump, Trump, Trump all night long. That’s all I heard, except one small blip about My Gal still is unable to light up a small crowd. Have a good one, my dear jon.
Hey who last last laughs best. No Sunshine Patriot here. Builds character and might I say you are quite the character recently. Jon, you are too gloomy. Everything is doom, doom, doom. Back to the deranged circus that is the GOP, I happily lift this quote from someone observing the train wreck today. Tell me what isn’t spot on here..
“Of course the TP/GOP convention will be cotested and turn into a mad house of conflicting views. Trump has done the majority of Americans an enornmus favor by cracking open the TP/GOP and exposing its parts. They all hate him but hate Cruz a little less. So they will probably select their nominee by “default” and not because he or she is the most qualified candidate representing a set of party values. Today’s TP/GOP is a political soup made up of hawks in love with the defense department, wild eyed evangelicals who are waiting for Jesus to burst thorugh the door, and starched collar rich guys who just want things to be like the days of the robber barons.”LikeLike

“Jon”, I have no assumptions about you, only suspicions. If the folks you seem to be channeling are happy to have your personae linked to them, so much the better. They’re all documented liars, so there really is no need to listen to their denials.
If you ever want to come out of the shadows and, at least once, stand up as who you really are, the charade will end. As a tragically flawed comedic genius once said, “Reality… what a concept”.LikeLike

First name remains Jon. Yours is Gregory.
What a concept.LikeLike
-
Regarding the NYT article the “Jon” is taken by, George’s 8:35PM hits the nail but doesn’t drive it far. Let me give it a few whacks:
folks had been writing models for a few years but couldn’t get them to fit past data describing Antarctic ice.
Dick Alley, warming alarmist scientist (one of the better ones) suggested a different approach. Voila! Using the new approach, they refined their models and by jiggering constants, generally called parameterization, they got it to fit the past.
Now, they hope it will have predictive value about the future. Accent on “hope”. However, until the new ice models are verified, there is no valid model to base public polity upon, and the modeled temperatures that are the inputs have already been shown to exaggerate temperature rise to double or more what is actually being measured by satellites and radiosonde (aka weather balloons).
Richard Alley, who figures in the story, gave an hour’s talk at an AGU Fall meeting a few years ago, and famously said CO2 has to be the culprit because there isn’t anything else to pin the famous Permian-Triassic extinction, aka The Great Dying, upon… that is, if you keep ignoring the link between galactic cosmic rays and temperatures over the past 540 million year.LikeLike

“First name remains Jon”, until you have someone here knowing what your last name is and that it does link to Jon as a first name, you can easily be a fabulist just like Michael P. Anderson, Steven Frisch or the FUE himself.
