[I am reminded by fellow blogger and pundit NC Scooper that a fresh sandbox has not been provided for the widely read, erudite (often in their own special way), and opinionated readers of this humble blog. So let us again come together for “The time has come,” the Walrus said,”to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings.” So I pose a question often asked by astute observers like cartoonist Ramirez, ‘Is our President a Muslim or a communist, or (insert plausible answer here)?’ gjr]

While the formal bankruptcy of SunEdison has not occurred, it appears to be a fait accompli. I considered waiting until the formality 🙂 but, scanning the news accounts, it appears both imminent and messy. Break out the popcorn.

Walt, good for you. Bad companies go out of business all the time and I’m really not that interested in SunEdison but “Jon” needed his nose rubbed into some bad news.
Some coal companies are going bankrupt because the Feds are trying to drive them out of business, but what a bankruptcy does for a coal company is to put its assets into the hands of others at an attractive price, and you can expect someone else to be able to operate the company at lower revenue levels. SunEdison, on the other hand, looks like a liquidation candidate… nothing there worth saving.LikeLike

Walt on 3/31/2016 @ 9:20 in the pm. Yep, Thursday night.
Aha! I knew it. We share the same blood Mr. Walt. I figure that when your people were tromping through the woods, the only women around were my harem of princesses. They had to rub noses sooner or later because your people had no other choice. Slim Pickens if you prefer. Hey, maybe I got a touch of Viking Savage blood in me, my blood brother with golden buffalo hair growing on face.
See, you were right and Jon was wrong per normal.

I can’t wait for “Jon”, Stephen Frisch or Jeff “The FUE” Pelline to jump in and tell us how insignificant the largest developer of solar energy in the world was, and not to worry, all is as planned. Of course, two of the above three are banished due to bad behavior, but perhaps the sockpuppet “Jon” who insists his name isn’t Steven or Jeff will let us know what those worthies think about such a tragic collapse in the alternative energy ecosphere.

We have a local ACLU much promoted by our progressives as a balanced organization advocating public policies that look out for the common good across the country. Well the latest news is in from Chicago. Due to the ACLU lawsuits against the city and its police department that accused it of discriminatory patrolling, the 2014 murders numbering almost 400 exploded to more than 700 or by over 70% in 2015. By that tally in that city alone, one can confidently state that ACLU killed over 300 black in one year by its politically correct law suits which caused Chicago to cut back on its police patrols in minority neighborhoods. More of this crap is going on in other major metropolitan areas including NYC where crime (and murder) rates are exploding because leftwing policies are being enacted. And the saddest part of all is that these elites are killing the underprivileged literally too dumb to understand what is being done to them. All such means justify their vaunted collectivist end.

Gregory 525pm – I would welcome back the diatribes of Frisch and Pelline if they would stick to the debating the ideas and impugn just the class beliefs of their opponents instead of going personal with outlandish lies and distortions. Some show of such contrition is required, but not expected.
My own feeling is that they know their ideas can only hold their own behind a strong firewall that permits no pertinent counter arguments which demonstrate the bankruptcy of their knowledge base, reasoning, and argumentative logic. Demonstrating these deficits again on RR would nevertheless be most welcome.LikeLike

George, I think it likely one or both are here in the form of a snarky sock puppet who generally stays clear of insulting the host who is more sensitive to small slanders directed his way than those directed at other visitors.
One majored in rhetoric (apparently, the emptier the better) and the other studied political science, which is about as scientific as melba toast. I tend to agree with Sowell on the social sciences…Social science experts, according to Sowell, are the modern, secular equivalents of a priestly class, but with this difference: Social scientists, riding on the prestige of the physical (or “hard”) sciences, claim to render objective judgments, free from personal bias or values, about what will promote the good of society or, sometimes, humanity as a whole. Intellectuals who associate with governments typically pride themselves on their objectivity, especially when opposing what they characterize as special interest groups. But such intellectuals have merely hidden their personal values under the mantle of science; in truth, they are just another special interest group with a political agenda.

I’m sure some have been paying attention to the election. See the rumer of what may happen with the contested convention? Now Paul Ryan’s name is coming up. The GOP just don’t know when to quit. Someone who never even threw his hat in the ring. Talk about voter nullification. ” WE the king makers don’t give a crap about you peons. We will make the choice on who you vote for.”
That won’t go over vary well, and will come back to bite the GOP in their pachyderm sized ass. The Tea Party will serve the eviction notice.LikeLike

Hay “jon”. If “your side” is so main stream, why have Progs been losing elections from sea to shining sea? From dog catcher on up. Seems your “main stream” is a sewer line @ a 4% grade.
Sanders sure ain’t going to be “your guy”, since DEMS have it rigged for the soon to be felon. But LIBS will stay quiet on that.
The Right on the other hand,,, well wait for the backlash if a person who was never even in the race gets trotted out and “nominated” from behind the curtain. (at the king makers pearl.) To pilfer a line from the old hippies,, “DOWN with the establishment!”
Funny.. Seems the hipsters are happy with the “establishment”. Their “establishment” has done a fine job of running the nation into the ground. More people on the dole than ever, more people out of work than ever, more debt than ever, and more civil turmoil than ever.
These are all facts “jonnie boy”,, BTW,, how come you haven’t answered my simple questions from the other day? Did I miss your answers? ( or as usual, ditched the subject )LikeLike

If the Comey vote comes in positive, then I look for the Dems trotting out either Lizzy Warren or ol’ Joe Biden for their nominee. And I will not be surprised if the Repubs pull a similar trick with, say, Speaker Ryan if their convention busts wide open with no critical mass liking the current trio.

First, it’s Trump all the way. Trump breaks open on the 35, cuts back across the middle, down the sideline, only two girlymen to beat, 30, 20, 10, Touchdown Trump!!!!!
Oh, I see the wobbly kneed out there running to the fainting couch. Oh ye of little faith. Did they think that going from an insurrection to a rebellion to a revolution would be like playing musical chairs? Nah, blood must be spilled. Walt, ever see the movie 300? We may go down against overwhelming dirty tricks, every fierce creature under the Sun, and the Undead thrown at us, but we will not be moved, will not be deterred, will not surrender. We will fight in the darkest hours of the night and the corpuses of the socialists and progressives will be stacked so high the sun will be blocked out. We are on a mission to save our country and our womenfolk. We cannot be bought. We are free men. This is nothing less than our last stand against the Satanic forces on the wrong side of the Great Divide. It’s high noon and we stand with the sun at our back while the primordial slime oozes out of the shadows. We fight for all freemen. Its now or never. Talking is done.LikeLike

George, April 2, 5:26 Re the ACLU,: Boy do you have this backwards. It is not the ACLU’s fault that murders rose in Chicago. The City retaliated against the court decision by cutting back on officers in the worst areas. This is not what “progressives” are saying. They think policing should be increased WITH OFFICERS THAT REFLECT THE DEMOGRAPHIC MAKE-UP OF EACH NEIGHBORHOOD. They want more officers patrolling the streets who are active members of the community rather than overzealous watchdogs.
I would think that we would welcome solutions rather than supporting the status quo that has obviously failed.LikeLike

PatriciaS 956am – Please check the nature of the complaint that the ACLU filed against Chicago. The city has only so much money that can pay for lawsuits or field officers. Reducing the officer count satisfied the discrimination alleged in the lawsuit which was not the claimed “retaliation” by the city. For many reasons black and Hispanic neighborhoods require a greater police presence to maintain law and order. Ignore the reality and more people in those neighborhoods suffer murder and mayhem. Granted, there may be other more long term and systemic solutions to the problem, but starting with reducing the number of police patrols is not one of them.

Re Tozer’s Sunday at 4:56:
I don’t know what he thinks he read in my blog, but I criticized the NCAA for letting North Carolina and Syracuse off easy on rules violations. I don’t care who wins the tournament, just the hypocrisy of the myth of the student-athlete.
If Tozer had taken my advice and bet the “under” in both semi-final games, he would have made some money over the weekend. Probably the best financial advice he got all week.LikeLike
