[Watched Sanders/Clinton townhall yesterday. Sanders is either abysmally dumb or evil beyond comprehension โ€“ I vote โ€˜dumbโ€™.  His post-socialist screed confirmed his belief that US economy is a zero-sum game, college is the new HS, therefore should be โ€˜freeโ€™ like HS without explaining why then keep our very expensive HS.  He believes healthcare is a โ€œhuman rightโ€ paid for by the wealthy, the poor support the rich, wants to double national debt to $40T in 10 years, does not understand debt service, wealth magically creates itself, people worldwide mysteriously fight to enter the US – an evil, racist, inequitable country overflowing with the poor save the 1% who must be severely punished.  Hillary lied up her usual storm, but sounded comparatively sane, and will handily beat Bernieโ€™s ass for the Dem nomination.  Big question, what about the millions of ignoramuses who think Bernie is smart?  gjr]

Noticed Hillary did the ole rope-a-dope when asked about the correlation of teachers’ unions and the current demise of public high school education. Cutting to the caste, it was an excellent avoidance answer. Another reason Bernie is stupid is because he lets her off the hook time and time again. Let leaves his hopes for winning right on the table and walks away without follow ups. To beat the Clintons, one needs a shark, not a kitten
It is safe to say that around 20% of The Berners will never vote for My Gal.. Go Green Party!

    Update on “W”
Nevada County Superior Judge Candace Heidelberger issued her decision earlier this morning ordering NC Supervisors to go back and rewrite 5 items before she will allow the ballot measure to go forward. This is from Yubanet:
” The writ challenging Measure W, the marijuana cultivation prohibition ballot measure, has been partially granted.
After a short hearing this morning, Nevada County Superior Judge Candace Heidelberger issued her decision moments ago.
The judge is asking the county to rectify 5 issues with the impartial analysis. Until these points are rectified, Measure W may not appear on the June 7 ballot.
“The Court is not ordering that Measure W cannot be on the June 7 ballot; rather, it cannot be on the June 7, 2016 ballot as currently described in the Impartial Analysis.”
    The ruling in full:

So the Iranians say they will walk away from 0’s nuke deal if they have penalties for violating the UN arms control sanctions again. So this makes what 4 or 5 times they have tested ICBM’s since 0 signed the deal and we now also find out the UN has promised to not make public violations of the nuke deal. Even grandpa Bernie could have negotiated a better deal.

The ruling was not about the language of measures W itself, it was only the impartial analysis which Heidelberger directed to be clarified in line with her points. The measure itself is intact and unchanged and the ordinance passed in Jan is still inforce as passed. The Judges ruling is a short term tactical victory for the growers but a strategic failure as far as removing W from the June Ballot.

Are you interested in answering Georges question? As the resident expert on Measure W you could be of help. Basically could any current or future BOS modify Measure W as to allow outdoor growing under new regulations without it returning as a ballot measure.

Dr. R. The measure itself is unchanged, no commercial as defined under state law, 12 plants indoors at any given time. All of the rest of the minutia is still under the Boards control. A review of Yuba Nets synopsis of the impartial analysis with the judges language is very clear.
Pattie Smith was telling some conservative ladies at the BOS today that it takes 1 plant for 6 weeks of product for the plaintiffs child, so 12 plants is 72 weeks. If they do sequential grows that number grows exponentially, 144 weeks with 2 cycles, 216 weeks with 3 cycles of 12.

Don.. Some of the “growing time” can be cut down by what’s called the “re-green” process.
The short version is, once the plant is picked, leave some greenery on said plant, put back under lights 24/7 for about two weeks and new growth starts. shortly thereafter, you can kick the flowering cycle back in,, and in half the time, you have a new crop.
(this only works for growing indoors.) Back in my day, I could get about five “crops” from one plant.

Don, once again you got your facts totally wrong. What I told Fran Freedle is the rule of thumb for a good indoor grower, is one pound per light – not per plant. One pound pf raw material produces enough oil for approx 6 weeks (it varies from patient to patient). This is why 12 indoor plants will not produce enough to make tinctures regardless of manupulating Mother Nature.
Furthermore, we are opposed to indoor for making any type of medicine because the unnatural conditions require great amounts of artifical chemicals which make it worthless as medicine.
Do you have any idea of the yields that come from the high CBD plants that kids like Silas need? (No fair googling). They are wispy litttle plants that produce very little – which is why no commercial growers are producing this strains.
If you had stuck around at the BoS meeting instead of retreating after the Court’s decision came in that demands the County fix 5 misleading and untrue statements from the ballot argument language, you might have learned something about the issue. I can’t tell if you are perpetually uniformed or just too partisan to tell the truth.

Our Designated Reader emailed me a collection of comments from Pelline’s blog – apparently traffic has been low again so they need some content – one of which was from our erstwhile local liberal Joe Koyote who wrote –
    March 9, 2016 at 11:02 am
A recent study in Germany concluded that individuals that were schooled during the 3rd Reich (of which Rebane was one) are far less tolerant of different cultures and races than those schooled both before and after, which only makes sense considering the rabid racism/insanity at that place and time.

The man clearly demonstrates that he is either mean-spirited or an idiot or a mean-spirited idiot. As long published on RR, I arrived in the US on 4 May 1949 as a nine-year-old. According to ol’ JoeK that was after extensive schooling in the 3rd Reich. Speaking of cohesive cultures, these are the kind of people that I would rather not live next to – and he has friends.
And none of these dimwits have a clue about what is going on in the various EU countries and the public dialogues about Muslims savaging European cultures. They think that cultural cohesion is a topic invented on RR. So where did they get their extensive schooling?

Really Paticia? ” the unnatural conditions require great amounts of artifical chemicals which make it worthless as medicine.”
There are PLENTY of “100%” organic plant foods. Been there, done that. Seems to me, the real bitch is loss of profits paying for electricity, and all the indoor goods.
It’s just easier and cheaper to grow outdoors. HELL! The same “plant food” can be used (and is) both ways.
So I call BS on your gripe.

Walt, the BS is coming from you and your lack of knowledge of indoor growing. I never said it was plant food that was artificial, but most indoor crops suffer from spider mites, powdery mildew, root rot, etc, etc. that require chemical preventatives. Even some organic supplements can upset the immune systems of critically ill patients. Maybe healthy individuals can withstand these chemicals, but it is not safe for sick people.

You are pathetic Walt. How many times have we heard, “if it saves even one child, we have to….” Now when we have the opportunity, we choose to do nothing? Again, talking out your rear. Honey oil labs ARE NOT used to make CBD tincture. Honey oil labs use butane (which goes boom) and is toxic.

Frankly, I don’t think it’s possible for Barrat-Green to be impartial so hopefully, someone else took a stab at writing it this time. All I want is for them to state unequivocally that they are being disingenious with the voters by writing the measure so they win either way. Voters are revolting at the process if not the intent of their actions.
BTW, you have never left a meeting before and always stay to have the last word. You ran like a scalded cat.
