[Was interested in reading The Union’s editorial position on SoJ today (here). The SoJ steering committee is preparing a response. IMHO, it's important to keep in mind two items regarding the opposition to SoJ – 1) the opposition offers no alternative to the formation of North California (my preferred name) than the lame same ol’ same ol’ dictum that defines insanity, and 2) their material opposition is based on the stasist paradigm of human behavior so favored by collectivists. The first is wrapped in the pabulum of “… we believe solving problems requires taking a seat at the table, not leaving it altogether.” which ignores that we have been denied a seat for decades and offers no alternative to continued compliance to the growing cohort of Sacramento progressives. The second ignores the demonstrated benefits to an economy of lowered tax rates, fewer and less intrusive regulations, and a smaller government that has fewer things to sell to special interests. Both are notions that the Left will never accept. gjr]

Those socialist pro bernie pot growers are promoting an immigration attorney as a potential candidate to oppose Supervisor Schofield in Dist 2. So Sara Coppin is holding her first meet and greet in Nevada City which is in Dist. 1??? What’s the matter, couldn’t they find a business in Dist. 2 to host an event for her or perhaps they know they could not draw a crowd in Dist. 2? LOL 😉

Lol. The bitter angry loser calls Scott an anger bitter loser! ROFLMFUEO.
Oh boy. I see no charges coming down on Hillary. Bigger heads than hers will roll if the onion is peeled back anymore. Toss Huma and Cheryl under the bus.

If you think the Republicans are in disarray, I see that the Dems have a bigger problem. It’s our public debate and we are sorting it all. Rand Paul show get a bump in NH.
You know, this e-mailgate is hard for bumper slogan people to wrap their heads around. But, quid pro quo people get. Didn’t the FBI say it’s a two pronged simultaneous probe into e-mails and trading State favors for donations to The Clinton Foundation? The two are joined at the hip.LikeLike

Not to worry Bill T – Jonny boy can’t come up with any rebuttal or refutation of facts so he he goes for the personal attack.
He’s never met me nor has any idea of my countenance or demeanor. Yet he loves to throw around the ‘bitter old white codger clinger’ label because he’s got nothing else. Pathetic. And he’s probably upset as his gal Shrillery isn’t doing too well these days.
Shrug – whatever.
Oh yeah – he’s probably not happy that he’s paying about 20% more for petrol than I am and twice what I pay for electricity.
And get this – there are gas stations here that sell Gas-O-Line. Gotta love it.LikeLike

A study finds long-term marijuana use tied to worse verbal memory in middle age.
I think that we have seen that demonstrated on this blog numerous times.
Short Summary: – As marijuana becomes more accessible to young and old alike in the U.S., researchers warn that long-term use of the drug may cause lasting harm to at least one type of brain function.
A new study based on following thousands of young adults into middle age finds that long-term marijuana use is linked to poorer performance on verbal memory tests, but other areas of brain function do not appear to be affected.
“We did not expect to find such a consistent association with verbal memory for chronic exposure to marijuana,” especially since the link held even when other factors like cigarette smoking, alcohol use and other behavioral factors associated with marijuana use were accounted for, said lead author Dr. Reto Auer of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

GeorgeB 1008pm – while you are correct in the aggregate, there have been occasions when the young under-educated and pre-experienced have backed revolutions that have toppled established governments (some that have deserved to be toppled – e.g. Batista – but their cure has almost always been worse than the disease).
RussS 513pm – You’r a hard man Mr Steele. These kinds of clinical finds make it real hard to promote the legalization of drugs like MJ. The simple tradeoff suddenly takes on deeper twists and turns. I continue to take comfort in that legal whiskey and tobacco have their own clinical downsides, yet their consumption is both managed and tolerated by society better than if they were made illegal.LikeLike

Scientist Ruthlessly Debunks One Of NOAA’s Central Climate Claims
In face of intense criticism from alarmist scientists, Dr. John Christy went to great lengths in a Tuesday congressional hearing to detail why satellite-derived temperatures are much more reliable indicators of warming than surface thermometers.
“That’s where the real mass of the climate system exists in terms of the atmosphere,” Christy, a climate scientist at the University of Alabama and Alabama’s state climatologist, said in a Wednesday hearing before the House science committee.
“When a theory contradicts the facts” you need to change the theory, Christy said. “The real world is not going along with rapid warming. The models need to go back to the drawing board.”
Read the rest in the Daily Caller HERE.
Conclusion:
“It is a bold strategy in my view to actively promote the output of theoretical climate models while attacking the multiple lines of evidence from observations,” Christy wrote. “Note that none of the observational datasets are perfect and continued scrutiny is healthy, but when multiple, independent groups generate the datasets and then when the results for two completely independent systems (balloons and satellites) agree closely with each other and disagree with the model output, one is left scratching one’s head at the decision to launch an offensive against the data.”LikeLike

Here’s a little tune going out to all the “jons” in the audience……
“Five migrants among seven young men who ‘laughed, danced and sang in Arabic as they gang raped unconscious girl of 17”

Can you claim that “they all left as good friends” if one of them was unconscious?
Inquiring minds….LikeLike

The Pentagon is ordering the top brass to incorporate climate change into virtually everything they do, from testing weapons to training troops to war planning to joint exercises with allies.
A new directive’s theme: The U.S. Armed Forces must show “resilience” and beat back the threat based on “actionable science.”
It says the military will not be able to maintain effectiveness unless the directive is followed. It orders the establishment of a new layer of bureaucracy — a wide array of “climate change boards, councils and working groups” to infuse climate change into “programs, plans and policies.”

RussS 913pm – You can bet the ranch that China, Russia, Iran, India, North Korea, … are not putting up with any of that crap in the combat systems development programs. As before – Obama does not have the best interests of America in mind.
