A nice example of news manipulation by Drudge this morning.
A little block of stories involving the troubles in Europe.
. GERMAN OFFICIAL: 10 Million More Migrants Headed for Europe…
. Vigilante revenge attacks for sex assaults…
. Swedish Police Under Investigation for Cover Up…
. Lights go out in night clubs…
The first three are a reasonable grouping, but if you look at the last story (in the Economist), it has nothing to do with the ongoing invasion (and their frisky behavior).
Between sins of omission by news aggregators, editorials masked as news, censorship/outright shutdown of newspaper comments, and widespread political censorship by the social media giants, ya can’t trust nobody.LikeLike

Obama seeks to become next U.N. Secretary General
I always thought that Obama was just doing an internship for UN Secretary-General position, so many of his decision and speeches did not make sense. But, when you consider his ambitions, they a little made more sense.
According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will join with regional Muslim governments to sabotage rumored plans by President Barack Obama to succeed the current United Nations Secretary-General, Korean diplomat Ban Ki-Moon, who finalizes his term on December 31, 2016. Quoting sources that said that the president has discussed his ambitions with Republicans and fellow Democrats.
President Do Nothing at the head of UN, what could go wrong? Oh!

RussS 1001am – Well, that would make a lot of sense to head up the world’s largest corrupt institution. After having put America into a nose dive, why not tackle the whole world next? It’s most certainly worth a try to head up the implementation of UN’s Agenda 21.

I tell you Bill our Hillary……much like the Cincinnati Bengals is going to find a way to blow this in the final seconds!
“The FBI is particularly on edge in the wake of how the case of former CIA Director David Petraeus was handled.
One of the three sources said some FBI agents felt Petraeus was given a slap on the wrist for sharing highly classified information with his mistress and biographer Paula Broadwell, as well as lying to FBI agents about his actions. Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in March 2015 after a two-plus-year federal investigation in which Attorney General Eric Holder initially declined to prosecute.
In the Petraeus case, the exposure of classified information was assessed to be limited.
By contrast, in the Clinton case, the number of classified emails has risen to at least 1,340. A 2015 appeal by the State Department to challenge the “Top Secret” classification of at least two emails failed and, as Fox News first reported, is now considered a settled matter.”Orange….it’s the new Black.

Baffled by the js story. Why would you use hemp oil from a dispensary when the FDA has already approved the CBD MS drug Sativex? Its been on the market for awhile for MS spasticity. Its a pure, dose controlled oral spray with proven results. At a public event last week I had a guy tell me he cured cancer with his pure cbd product he made in a crock pot.

A short while ago you said that marijuana has no medical use. Just yesterday you said that CBD was not available in a pure form. When will your lies stop? Guess you gotta say what you gotta say to sway the uninformed.
Nabiximols (of which Sativex is one of many) are CBD potentiated with various ratios of THC and sometimes another adjunct. Yes, it may be more therapeutic than CBD alone but I don’t like the effect of THC. I’ve heard that as many as 25% of the users of Nabiximols quit because of the side effects. The reason you don’t see pure CBD being sold by big pharma is that they can’t patent it. By adding a second ingredient they can patent and own the drug.LikeLike

jon, call your office, NOAA is surprised by the facts, planet cooling slightly and Greenland snow accumulating.
The preliminary data from UAH and RSS [satellite data] shows that 2015 was the third warmest year since the measurements began in 1978, and thus did not set a new record. A reanalysis of the global 2m temperature from CFSv2 measured a positive deviation from the mean of 0.27 K, but put the year 2015 only in 6th place
A big surprise for many has been the ice growth measured in Greenland since 2014. Moreover the Greenland ice sheet has grown some 300 km³ since September 1, 2015

Storm Clouds Form: Bob Woodward Compares Hillary Scandal to Watergate
Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal has been a difficult one for the public to understand and for journalists to explain. But Bob Woodward, the Washington Post reporter who helped uncover Watergate 40 years ago, clarified things a lot on Fox News Sunday today when he said that an e-mail in the most recently released batch shows Hillary trying to “subvert the rules” that she expected others to follow.

I provided some of the Serb story, including evidence that Croats in general slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Serbs in their flagship death camp during WWII, and Moslem Bosnians themselves formed the core of the first foreign Waffen-SS unit, swearing fealty to Hitler, and in a Serbs Gone Wild! episode after Croat strongman Tito had death ease his grip on Serbia, committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in an ugly attempt to reverse their subjugations.

If it hasn’t happened thus far, I don’t suppose that it will. But what I was imagining was a union contract where the government body directly pays the union itself as one of the stipulations. If both sides are willing (a majority of the union members + a bought and paid for gubmint), there’s a certain sense in cutting out the middle man.
What I’d like to track down somewhere is a good explanation of why some of the larger unions haven’t been hit by antitrust law. Perhaps it’s as simple as the law (and subsequent court decisions) wording, but if you have to be a ‘corporation’ to fall under that kind of restriction, why not set up a church or giant charity that has the sole ownership of some asset or the other? In any case, worrying about monopolies has fallen into the same memory hole as reasonable IP law.LikeLike

George@2:00PM
The left is in favor of the NOAA report as it shows the pause does not exist. They did that by modifying the ocean temperature data taken from ships and buoys cooling the data before 2000, to show an increase in temperature during the pause. Again, tampering with the data for political purposes. Obama needed some “no pause data” for his Paris Climate Change Talks.
The skeptics prefer the satellite data which covers the whole planet, land and ocean. NASA and NOAA do not get to adjust the satellite for any reason. There are two sources of satellite data, that agree with some minor differences. Trends are the same, only the magnitude changes slightly. The UAH dataset is prepared at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the RSS dataset is prepared by Remote Sensing Systems. The satellite data has been validated using balloon radiosonde measurements. It is not stored or maintained by NOAA.
Readers interested in the scientific details, including some interactive graphics showing the magnitude of the NOAA changes can go here: https://bobtisdale.wordpress.com/2014/12/22/quick-look-at-the-data-for-the-new-noaa-sea-surface-temperature-dataset/LikeLike
-
RussS 446pm – Thanks again Russ; I recall Gregory also pointing that out. Were it not their nature, it would be remarkable that only the skeptics identify the two datasets and their interpretations. The Left only keeps mentioning the interpretation that agrees with their agenda, as if it were the only one, and lets the crickets handle the rest.

Jon@3:50PM King Coal dead? Not really!
I would not dance on King Coal’s grave just yet. The industry may continue to limp along for decades, with little growth, said an industry representative.
“China’s hunger for coal seems insatiable — it gobbles up 4 billion tons a year, about half of global supply — the story is different in the U.S. Here, coal’s share of electricity production has fallen from nearly 53 percent in 2000 to below 40 percent today. Coal companies face economic hardships, dwindling market shares and increasing regulations.”
The problem as I see it. The planet is cooling slightly, but this slight cooling will accelerate as solar cycle 24 declines and solar cycle 25 is the lowest in modern times, the Pacific returns to an extended La Niña condition like it has in the past for periods up to 20 years, and the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation turning cold. The plant will cool and winter heat will be in demand.
The AMO lasts for about 6o years. Combine a cool Pacific for 20-30 years, low sunspots for 20-30 year and a cold AMO for 60 years and it going to get real cold in the Norther Hemisphere. The last time we had these conditions existed was during the Little Ice Age from 1300 to 1850. The world is going to need that coal to stay warm. The world has an 110 year supply. Yes, natural gas will take up some of the energy demand, as will solar and wind. But, wind and solar will only be minor unreliable players. The main players will be coal, natural gas and some oil.
Therefore, Jon you should not dance on King Coal’s grave just yet.LikeLike

Hillary? Not when she’s headed for a jail cell. Sanders? LIBS won’t allow it. Nomination bought and paid for by Hillary already. On top of that Dems are already switching teams.

Have fun in that alternate reality “jonnie”. LIBS thought they would have both Houses after the last election.. Yup, that worked out swell.
As I recall, you were in Trump’s corner the last time your were foaming at the mouth.
Let’s see the timeline… First you said trump would burn out and go away. WRONG!!

Walt, we all remember how little jon was creaming his jeans hoping that Trump would get the nod. His mangina was all a’twitter over a Trump nomination.
Then he/she switched to words like NEVER and ZERO CHANCE as time progressed. To be fair, he did say he wouldn’t make a prediction until Jan, 2016 back then, lol.
Now, I wish to submit something for your consideration (which we on the right already know, but the media still hasn’t figured out). It’s about the Lefty side on the aisle, or is that the Lefty slide off the rails? Everybody is saying the Dem nomination race Is tighening up, Hillary loses 8% of her support in Iowa and Bernie gains 6. Bernie gaining traction nationally as well, and conversely Hillary support has been dropping since the November polling. Oh, how exciting.
However, the media is crediting Bernie for this surge and tightening of the race. Feel the Bern.
Nonsense! Bernie has not changed his tune about anything for the last 40 years. Now Hillary’s manager has issued a warning to not “go there” about Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults or his unwise infidelity escapades. .
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/265430-hillary-aide-trumps-bill-clinton-attacks-reprehensible
Well, nonsense again! Has nothing to do with Bernie. Hillary’s numbers started to dive as soon as The Donald went after her soul mate Bill Clinton. It’s the Trump Effect, stupid. It’s all about Mr. Trump. He decides who goes up and who goes down.
Ironically Move On was formed as a direct response to Bill Clinton’s impeachment, Hmm, they just backed The Bern. Hillary is finding out that Americans liked Bill Clinton and his die hard supports and aides were loyal to Bill, not Hillary. Except John Podesta, lol.. He can push Bernie’s campaign around, but can’t touch The Donald.LikeLike
