[These sandboxes sure fill up fast with a variety of topics tucked between the mudballs. One regular commenter made an interesting remark that bears more consideration – under what conditions is it possible for a mixture of devout Muslims and non-Muslims to live in close proximity – e.g. the same neighborhood? gjr]

LOL. Al Jazeera not in my usual news monitoring mix :).
What’s this now? OH CANADA! Turns out our ultra conservative, god-fearing Canadian christian grass roots conservative was, after all, in the good graces of Wall Street. Oh my. Stay tuned for next wave of Trump attacks as his team readies the new commercials in Iowa. Very grass-roots-like, that Goldman Sachs.

Well, that explains Bill’s little escapades. He is in the unquie unenviable position to see her without makeup and without her camera face on. If elected, I hope she runs the country better than she runs her marriage.

Well, I told ya so. It ain’t just our little aberration of red in a sea of blue that Fat Boy claims it is. It’s both parties from sea to shinny sea. Fat Boy is the aberration.
Yo, little jon: I am sure you have read this cause it’s from your oft sited Huff and Puff Post. Yes, just an opinion piece. It’s what I have been yapping about for too long. It’s both parties, from the mild mannered afraid to offend anyone Dems and Repubs moderates, to the far far Left to the safe and sane far right. Cast them all overboard, carpet bombing is only the icing on the cake. Americans are berry berry angry, although I usually stand up alone instead of standing with the crowd. Everybody is a bit irritated so get over yourself. You are more than fashionably late to the party.

You know, I used to like Monica Crowley. She has smarts and seemed like a nice lady. When she pulled Obama’s feet out of the fire in his debate comeback with Mitt, I figured I had been wrong and she is just another partisan hack. Made me lose faith in my fellow man/women.
Well, Monica Crowley isn’t perfect but she is trying to redeem herself. Of course, she is late in writing this and from a safe position off camera now that the sands of time have shifted.

Figure I no longer feel the compelling need to beat up on my gal Hillary. The Dems are doing it for me as well as some cracks of light emitting from the national press. A portion of the Hillary bashing is coming from the Dem voters themselves, with a little help from Juanita and the FBI. But, the real Hillary basher is Hillary herself. The more she speaks in public, the more people simply do not warm up to her. She has that likeabity factor and that authentic thang working against her.
Besides, I have yet to find one single poster on this site that is willing to stand up for her. Not one. My job of showcasting my gal’s good points is over. No takers? Sad. Looks like she is stuck with Bubba and poor Bubba is stuck with her. An American tragedy. Farewell my lovely.LikeLike

The “jon” (self described authority on pipelines) said this.
” there are many hundreds of thousands of miles of Nat Gas pipelines running all over the USA. More planned, no ECOs stopping them”
Well,, the “jon” (as usual) is wrong again. He may care to see one of those films he has been shilling for. “36 in.” ( anti NG pipe line flick)
So “jon”,,, as you were saying??LikeLike

Walt, go easy on disturbed little j. He knows everything and we on the right are doomed. Doomed I tell ya. Toast, dust in the wind, put a fork in it. Conservatives like you and even moi will get shellacked in every Presidential election from here to eternity. Can’t fight those changing demographics, now can we? We are just too ornery to see the handwriting on the wall. Little j says it’s all about demographics and he is never wrong.

There are hundreds of thousands of miles of natural gas pipelines in America.LikeLike

Walt, you are either a flat out idiot, or liar. The moment you find the bogus statement you have attributed to me – “ECOs don’t have problems with pipelines”, let me know.
..For now, I will continue to assume you’re not a liar, merely an idiot..LikeLike
-
“Jon” is likely a liar but is definitely an idiot. Transporting crude oil by pipeline has a far lower environmental impact than transport by truck or train, both by “carbon footprint” and danger of spillage, fire and explosion.
I see JoKe occasionally posting at Peelines but not here since his true self was outed. Too bad. Eventually “Jon” will definitively tip his hand, too.LikeLike

“Walt, there are many hundreds of thousands of miles of Nat Gas pipelines running all over the USA. More planned, no ECOs stopping them.”
So… Care to try again “jon”? Tell us again the ECO bastard flick “36 inch” is “pro pipeline”.LikeLike
-
That’s quite a different statement than the false quote you attributed to me. So here’s a lesson for you Walt. There are over 305,000 miles of existing natural gas pipelines in the US and no ECOs are stopping them, nor have they stopped them. Mostly in dusty, flat, ugly areas of OK, Texas and such. In recent years all over PA and Ohio. Some more progressive areas of the West and NE and NY are fighting them tooth and nail.
So you done screwed up Walt. You imagine things that aren’t there. Next time try the time stamp. I await an apology.LikeLike
-
by the way Walt, from time to time you make me laugh out loud (LOL as commonly called), such as calling the short film to be screened this weekend- an “Eco Bastard Flick”. “Jon” is confusing building pipelines to enable liquids and gases to be transported safely and efficiently, with fighting pipelines in order to styme the production of fuels that could be transferred by the pipeline.
“Jon” is admiring fighting pipelines as a proxy for limiting production of things he* doesn’t like in the first place.
*Let’s be clear… Jon might not be a “he”.LikeLike
-
The “jon” is the one who put into print,” no ECOs stopping them”. Which is half ass correct. “They”,, sure as hell try. The ECO bastards just run up the costs by suing.(and usually losing) They whine and snivel about the “environment”. Funny, How do they cook their tofu?
The “jons” of the nation need to start eating cold, uncooked food.( Like that will ever happen.) Stop driving cars, end electricity use, toss out the gas stove, and remove any heat source. It all comes through a pipeline somewhere. ( So thank your lucky stars we have them.)LikeLike

BenE 759am – Well, there are a lot of us here who would back separate investment and savings banking. I would also be in favor of a ‘skin in the game’ rule that requires investment managers to have their own funds in the accounts they manage.
And very few of us conservatarians are in favor of the Fed, the gang that could never shoot straight.
Have no idea what ‘absolutely’ ending NSA spying means. But am not in favor of making the US blind to what other nations are doing.
Anyway Ben, I wish you joy of the campaign season.LikeLike
-
Thanks George,
‘absolutely’ ending NSA spying means eliminated the bulk spying of Americans, which is in direct violation of our 4th amendment rights.LikeLike
-
George,
I would reciprocate in wishing you joy in this campaign season but from the looks of it the Republican Party has virtually nobody running to get excited about.
I saw this morning the first mentioning of Gary Johnson running again. He is a very honest libertarian with executive experience. I like Johnson a whole lot on tons of issues. If on the California ballot and Bernie Sanders not the nominee my vote will be a toss up for the Green candidate or Johnson depending on who the Greens nominate. Johnson was Governor of New Mexico when I lived in Colorado near the border. I also have many friends that live in NM and he did very good job for the state.

BenE 902am – Surprisingly, many of us (millions?) are quite pleased with the cast of candidates the GOP has lined up against the Democrat coterie. The Dems are now busy destroying the center of their party as Hillary’s Clintonesque entourage have begun to suffer noticeable desertions from her train. Yes, the Dems will be the declared socialists by the time Hillary blows a tire and Liz Warren becomes their Bernie-approved standard bearer.
Kim Strassel of WSJ, an astute observer of the political scene, makes the case that “Barack Obama’s political legacy may be the dismantling of the party’s center” and writes –
(Obama) ran as a uniter, but he governed as a divisive ideologue and as a liberal, feeding new fervor in the progressive wing …(that) proved more eager than even the Republicans to steadily pick off Democratic moderates—and helped the GOP to decimate their ranks. The Democratic congressional contingent is now at its smallest size since before FDR. But boy is it pure, and it retains an unwavering belief that its path to re-election is to double down on the Obama agenda.

George,
I am not sure where the disconnect is with those on the right and Obama is a pro business moderate Democrat? He is not progressive and his administrations toed the moderate/ corporate democrat line his entire 7 years so far. His campaigning hard for the TPP is a perfect example. I have a whole laundry list of examples but you’ve all heard them before.
A Clinton Presidency would be the third time around for the Bill Clinton corporate wing of the Democratic Party. So what we have is a moderate corporate wing controlling the Democratic Party and extreme corporate wing controlling the Republican Party, neither represent Labor any longer. Hence, the constant decline of the American middle class since every administration has embraced Reagan Revolution of economic, tax, trade, and privatization policies. They all have been disastrous for everybody except for those at the top of the economic ladder.LikeLike
-
American politics is so much better off when there are a lot of candidates running. We get to hear it all. The left and indies mute all but the one they personally prefer. They have no idea what they are doing and their candidates are total dolts with no personality. We are the party of America.

BenE 1101am – Remarkable! Your view of Obama, his ideology, and actions are the real disconnect here – but most certainly you are entitled to your very revealing assessment of the man. That he is a globalist progressive is regularly observed and even celebrated by the Left’s press. His agenda with TPP is an example of this. The man has been death on business as his non-existent ‘recovery’ attests along with American companies fleeing overseas. He is the best thing that ever happened to Agenda21.
Do you know if there is a larger group of your fellow ideologues who share that assessment of Obama?LikeLike
