Good job fearless leader. Fresh sand to muck up.
Proof that Walt’s kin are racists.
“The long stream of posts mentioned almost every ethnic group, including blacks, Muslims, Jews and American Indians, blaming them for an effort on campus to debate changing the university’s mascot, a Viking. The threats came days after several student leaders suggested that the mascot is racist.”

BillT 429pm – I too descend from Vikings – both Swedish and Estonian – and have no idea what the problem is for someone with a beard to run around a football field in furs, leggings, and an ice bucket with horns sticking out of it. Nothing will take away the fact that we sure could build some fast boats that handled both rough seas and shallow rivers. The part we had most trouble with was the ‘Rape, pillage, THEN burn!’ Too often we got the last two turned around and there was little to take home.

Stories about global warming must not be selling. If the readers recognize the dishonesty of global warming stories, they may question the validity of the other stories and just not buying the magazine. Decline details in the Washington Examiner:
A decade-long implosion of magazine sales, led by weekly news mags, appears to be speeding up, with major name brands like Time suffering double-digit declines in just the last three months, according to the group that has charted the death of print.
MagNet Data reports that newsstand and other retail sales fell 10.3 percent in the third quarter of 2015, from 128.8 million to 115.5 million.
Some examples of the decline in the third quarter:
• Time Inc. sales down 13.1 percent, revenue off $11.3 percent.
• Hearst sales down 21.9 percent, revenue off 20.3 percent.
• Wenner Media, publisher of Rolling Stone, down 15.9 percent, revenue off 15.1 percent.
• Conde Nast sales down 9.3 percent, revenue off 7.2 percent.LikeLike

Wel, well. The cat is out of the bag now. The only reason you Vikings did not kill my people at Wounded Knee was because you did not hear about the shinding or were too busy doing the rape and pillage thing. Just because the good doc got stranded when he did the burn thang in the wrong order is no excuse. We all know he would have been smashing babies’ heads against trees if given the chance. You snooze, you lose. BTW, anybody need free lunch buffet coupons at the rez Casino?
Mr. Steele. Not Rolling Stone! I haven’t made the cover yet. Well, they do say that mag subscriptions are the first to go when money gets tight. They also say the cyberspace gadgets changes the way we hurl insults and also expose lack of proper grammar correctness. They say a lot of things, but I digress. Anybody up for a Pillage Party!LikeLike

Walt, that was predictable. Yeah, the Viking would have ruled the world with their strong economic ties to the subdued peoples except for 3 unfortunate events. First, they landed too close up on shore and inavertly set some of their boats on fire when torching peasant huts.
Secondly, (which leads to the third unfortunate event), when the Russians asked them to rule over them, they got hooked on that vodka which made them not think straight and distracted them from taking care of business.
Thirdly, they got too drunk to tie up and secure their longboats and a freak storm blew their unmanned vessels out to sea. Bummer.
I dunno doc. Walt looks more like an Oslo guy than a Swede. You kinda look like a Finn and them Finns don’t get no respect. And nobody has told either one of you cod eaters that you are racists. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.LikeLike

Ouch, Walt, cut deep with that one, paleface. Tis true, tis true. Must say there is a world of difference between Swedish gals on holiday and those Swiss “wound up tighter than a Swiss watch” gals. That I grant you, with loving fond memories.
Now, of course we mustn’t use that broad brush of generalization. For example, not all of the Irish are drunks. I can’t think of one that’s not off the top of my head, but I’m sure there might be a few Irish Catholic nuns in some distant convent that aren’t drunks. That is the white devil side of me speaking.
Now, not all savages live on the rez drinking firewater, smashing up their new shiny pickup trucks and showing each other their new bar scars on a weekly basis. Some do not even collect Injun money. I can think of one…me.
Yep, must be that part Irish drunk in me that makes me put on the war paint after a few pulls on the jug. Add firewater and its 3 meals and a cot until I stand before the Honorable Discharger in the morning , sometimes with double vision. You know that Drunk Irish Firewater combo really painted the town the previous night or week when the judges keep asking ya if you are ok. :). I don’t blame the drunk Irish part cause that part can hold his liquor. It’s the other savage part I have to keep an eye on.LikeLike

Expect more record gun sales, Jon. People are smart enough to know that our LE cannot be in all places at all times on every street corner and front door in America. The “victims” are always the first responders. Milliseconds count. Be it gang bangers, idiots wack out on drugs, or terrorists, the idea is to always be the first responder. The time it takes to dial 9/11 may be time one doesn’t have to protect one’s little children donning worried faces looking up to you for protection.
And obliviously, people do not trust our vetting.
Now, throw this wrench in the gears and it get more interesting:

Copy and paste:
By more than 2 to 1, more Americans believe mass shootings in the United States are more a reflection of problems identifying and treating people with mental illness than inadequate gun control laws, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll taken in October. That poll also found the public split on whether to prioritize new laws aimed at reducing gun violence (46 percent) or protecting the right to own guns (47 percent).

“Jon” 9:30 represents one Aussie as “the world”, but the AU response to such a killing was the confiscation of about a third of the country’s guns. If that’s what DEMs want, perhaps Pantsuits will oblige.
Without a 2nd, Aussie gun owners were defenceless… parliamentary government makes it easier for even a temporary majority to run roughshod over the fights of a minority. Here’s one account: http://thefederalist.com/2015/06/25/the-australia-gun-control-fallacy/
Trying that in the USA would not end well.LikeLike

And since progressives are so much more style over substance (see – Steves faithful belief that California cutting greenhouse gas emissions is going to save the planet), dead from gun violence is so much more déclassé than having a pencil rammed into your temple or being the victim of a “necklacing”.

No mistake… homicide is literally the killing of a human.
homicide
n. the killing of a human being due to the act or omission of another. Included among homicides are murder and manslaughter, but not all homicides are a crime, particularly when there is a lack of criminal intent. Non-criminal homicides include killing in self-defense, a misadventure like a hunting accident or automobile wreck without a violation of law like reckless driving, or legal (government) execution. Suicide is a homicide, but in most cases there is no one to prosecute if the suicide is successful. Assisting or attempting suicide can be a crime.http://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=881
I guess Pelline’s BA Empty Rhetoric was light on Latin.LikeLike

We tend to forget the actual meaning of the word homicide because the natural legal distinction is a killing by another vs killing of one’s self.
Wikipedia creates a third term, intentional killing, that has other problems but here is the list with Japan intentionally killing its people at a higher rate than the US:

posting by phone…. appypollyloggies for the 913/914 doublet.
Another common misconception… murder as a synonym for homicide and vice versa (vee-kay ver-saw is, I think, the Latin pronunciation)… I recall Keachie being completely ignorant of the concept of a justifiable homicide a few years ago. Yes, dear friends, it is legal to kill somebody in certain circumstances, in defence of self and of others.
I’ve also a pet peeve over the mushing of the meaning of decimate, Latin for killing 10%… every tenth man, a practice used by the Roman army to discipline their soldiers for slacking off in battle.LikeLike

Yeah, suicide is against the law. Japan has a huge Islamic community, duh.
After news of the San Burdo began to unfold, I said within myself that Trump’s numbers would climb. Noticed this morning that, indeed, that has happened. Just glancing at the news I can see multiple stories about Trump numbers being at all time high, albeit I no longer waste time following daily polls.
I always liked Pat Bucannon. Not really for what he says, but what he did. He was a young aide/adviser when he walked into Nixon’s office and said “Mr President, you have lied to us and the American people. You must resign.” In this day of butt kissing and “yes men” surrounding our Presidents, Pat Bucannon is a breath of fresh air. Principles above politics. Here is an editorial he wrote. Kind of hard to follow at first, but he makes a great point: Pushback against the media is what is driving Trump’s numbers.
Hmmm.

This recent poll shows that around 43% of Republicans believe Obama is a Muslim. In your view is this a example of the duming down of America?
Misperceptions about Obama’s religious beliefs are more common than those about his birth, particularly among Republicans. Overall, 29% of Americans say they think the President is a Muslim, including 43% of Republicans.

Of course, Gregory (a self-professed math and science hound) doesn’t even understand the math curriculum at UC Berkeley for engineers compared with liberal arts students.

PaulE 1046am – In citing that stat you have to remember that 100% Repubs think that Obama is 1) the worst president the country has had, and 2) a demonstrated anti-American globalist promoting the objectives outlined in UN’s Agenda21. Starting from that base, we look at how the duck walks and quacks, and there he clearly evinces a painfully pro-Islamic outlook in both his foreign and domestic policies. Moreover, his conduct of the Presidency overflows with examples of disrespecting and minimizing the Christian influence in America. At best, there he displays the secular expression of Christian traditions – e.g. Santa Claus vs Christ’s birth, Easter bunny vs the risen Christ. So yes, when the message from the WH continues about the ‘religion of peace’ and that ‘Islamic’ cannot be conjoined with ‘terrorist’, then we can understand why 43% of Repubs may conclude that Obama is a Muslim. BTW, where did that number come from?

Once again Terrorists strike the U.S.,, yet “O” and Co. refuse to call it for what it is and by whom.

re PaulE’s 1046am stat. The recent Gallup poll divides political America into R = 29%, I = 40%, D = 31%. If that is true, then a little algebra shows that, if 29% of Americans think Obama is a Muslim, then about 23% of the I+D population shares that belief with the cited 43% of Rs.

Jeff’s lone defense is a link to a WaPo chart that conflates murder with homicide and treats gun homicides separately from homicides as a whole… meaning OJ’s little spree wouldn’t count but his ex and her friend were as dead as f-ing fried chicken.
Again, a chart of “intentional killing” by country:

At high noon, Jeffie wrote “Even “fish” (no rocket scientist or mental giant) questioned the truthfulness of lumping in suicides with mass killings.”
First, “fish” just asked if it was a “mistake”, and gave me the point when I cited an authoritative source that plainly stated suicides truly were instances of homicide. Some, even most, definitions of homicide choose to omit killing by the dear deceased; use whichever you want just be clear about it.
Of course, Jeff commits a clear lie by omission for repeating the original challenge without mentioning he’d recanted the challenge.
That’s why Jeff throws mudballs from behind the Corpulent Curtain… he can’t win without cheating and he doesn’t realize his dwindling audience is a result.LikeLike
