[Well, 'tis the global warming season among other less intensely celebrated religious holidays. We will observe it with an intense fervor not seen in many a year. And AGW, I might add, has ascended to become mankind's first global religion. This week's Economist features its cover story titled 'Clear thinking on climate change' in which the lead commentary accepts the kool-aid with the short statement "that climate change is happening, that it is very largely man-made and that it is exceedingly dangerous, are all now hard to deny". Then it goes on to discuss the political situation in Paris, and that any real agreement will be hard to achieve. And then, I kid you not, in its 14-page spread to induce the promised "clear thinking", it goes through a major dissertation on the models and science, admitting that essentially nothing is well known about the dynamics of earth's climate and less about making the models used to predict near term catastrophe intended to launch thousands of laws and regulations to tame earth's temperature. Now there we have a good and clear example of liberal thought. gjr]

Paul has a good point. Islamic brutality is the same as the godless Khmer Rouge, the blood thirsty Vlad the Impaler, Idi Amin…opps, Idi was Muslin, godless Stalin, godless Mao, and the man who killed more Islams than any other man in history, the late great secularist and headless Saddam Hussein Obama…er…Saddam Hussein. Space constrains me from listing all the minor dictators. I do find moral equilivency amazing here. And yes, we have pediphiles and child porn web surfers here in the ole USA that are not Islamics, so that make one able to say, “hey, why pick on me? He did it first!”

Here and now. What a concept. I said it a hundred times and will say it again. The first man born on Earth murderered his brother. We have not “evolved” much, despite promises century after century that under Progressive Policies and Control, the lion will lay down with the lamb. All we need is mutual respect, listening, and dialogue.

Manifest Destiny was a righteous endeavor. Most wars are fought over property. We had a better army in 1846 and kicked Mexico’s ass. They ceded the land (we paid for it though) and there we are. You think the Maya, Navaho, Chirequawa, Apache or Aztecs did not conquer and murder for land? Then you are the fool we all know. America has its warts as all nations do. I however think we have done our best as a people to make things as right as possible. For instance, we gave back the Philippines after gaining them by kicking Spain’s ass. What is so common with you slugs on the left is your readiness to diss America and never give a thought to its inherent goodness among the nations. Pathetic little minded pricks you are.

After all that diplomacy, there is not even a signed agreement: The Daily Mail which reports that,
The Obama administration has disclosed to Congress that this summer’s controversial nuclear arms agreement with Iran was never signed and is not legally binding, according to a new report this week.
The State Department made the disclosures in a letter to Kansas congressman Mike Pompeo, a Republican, who had written the department to inquire why the agreement as submitted to Congress in July did not bear the signature of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
‘The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not a treaty or an executive agreement, and is not a signed document,’ Julia Frifield, an assistant secretary for legislative affairs wrote Pompeo last Thursday.
Now we know why Obama had to move on to climate change for a legacy, the Iran deal was bogus, and the Climate Change Agreement will be also. Too bad for Obama. His only legacy will be failed programs and bogus agreements.

Well, the true test is if we are willing to adjust ourselves to the way things are, or spin our wheels trying to make the world conform to us. Walk down the street and try to make everyone love you and behave the way you demand they behave. Go ahead and play God all day long trying to keep people in their place obediently following your lead. Guarantee to live in constant tension, turmoil, and frustration. Hey, my sweet and precious Swiss White Shepard Artic-Yukon mix pup is not very spiritually developed either. She walked in the house the other day with a poor innocent birdie in her mouth. Beautiful feathers I might add. She needs to evolve to be not so doglike in her behavior, thoughts, and speech. She just sees things differently than the Enlighted Ones do.

Sounds like a great pooch. Now here,, bigger doesn’t mean tougher. I have this cat that both German shepherds have PLENTY of respect for. At feeding time, the cat is between the two. They know better than to mess with the duchess of the joint. She rules with an razor sharp claw. All it took was a good swipe to the nose a few times. Problem solved. ( President Reagan style)
Just like the way the world works. Be smarter, faster, and “take care of business” better than the next guy.(or nation) The “law of the jungle” if you will.

Walt, have you put a surveillance devise in my humble abode? My lone runt of the litter cat rules, while doggie drools. Yep, a quick swipe across the mutt’s snout certainly calmed things down after the meet and greet. Oh, sure, an occasional flash of fangs by Mr. Feline is all it takes to put the big doggie in her place!
At first I called the jet black semi-fetal cat “Blackie” and the dog “Whitety”, but after yelling out “Blackie” several times to call him in, I saw how that was so UN-PC, yelling out Blackie and Whitety across the purple hills of majesty.
So, I evolved and now the domestic fuzz balls have proper names. I named the cat Simba and the girls named the dog Numi. That is my contribution to making the world a nicer, kinder, gentler, and MORE comfortable place to dwell.
Ok, back to Bad America and Bad Human Race. If only humanity wasn’t so….so…so human..

For the interested reader – as seen from above, some of our liberal readers strongly excuse the current Islamic atrocities and assault on the west on the basis of certain cited iniquities which were performed by the alleged proxies of the west. In fact in their lexicon it hard to find a terrible tyrant during the recent two centuries whose deeds were not the direct fault of the west. So what is their answer to today’s radical Islam? Well, they don’t have one, but they criticize every response by the west to defend itself against today’s existential threats. If anything, their answer is for us to bend over and take it since we have been so bad in the past. Stephen Decatur’s classic exhortation (see my 431pm) just exercises their crickets.
Needless to say RR does not belong to that cohort of self-flaggelators.

BTW, haven’t we seen enough of these national polls lately? I no longer read them unless it is a big eye opener. Like, 4 up, 4 points down really matters in early Dec, 2015, IMHO. Same ole same ole.
However, polling is changing. Live interviews polls have different results than on-line polling, which is much cheaper and becoming more popular. Guess those who answer the phones are more likely to guard their words than on-line posters. The Internet has changed the way we communicate.
The only polling that did not surprise me in the least was that one that says Republicans (the law and order party) take it as a given that Hillary committed felonies by using her private server as Secretary of State. The Democrats (the party of The Higher Good) say it’s not big deal, the means justify the ends, or is it the ends justify the means? Help me out here, Mr. Kesti.

The plant is supposed to produce 25 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol per year, but while Abengoa claims to have produced significant volumes of cellulosic ethanol” they have not sold any of their biofuels.”
BTW.. The ECO gang has said that ethanol is not “clean”. but MORE harmful to the environment.

Yep, ethanol is not green because it is not Eco-nut friendly. Someday we will all drive electric cars, fossil fuels will be a thing of the past, and hospitals and county clerks will not state male or female on the birth certificate until the child decides. In the meantime, we have natural gas to bridge the gap until we all are Mean Green Non Polluting Machines.

Waly- The article says CELLULOSIC ethanol, not standard corn based ETOH (which consumes more energy than it delivers, along with some other bad by products such as gumming up my chain saws). CELLULOSIC should be embraced because it can be produced from forest thinning trash (cellulose debris). If the technology can be realized on a profitable level, logging and forest thinning for fire safety and forest health this stalemate we are currently in between loggers, USFS thinning demands and eco shriekers can be broken.

Bear in mind who our audience is – the undecideds and self-proclaimed middle roaders. Both are smart enough to distinguish between the successful pro/con argument for an idea vs playground name callings of the messenger. None should be frustrated in these comment streams when they fail to convert their opposites, for that is not our aim – hell will first freeze over.

I like jon and he is passoniate. In fact, he started sucking the bottom of bottle earlier than usual last evening. Way too early and calling somebody an a-hole and another ignorant. Maybe he is going through a rough time right now and we should keep jon in our thoughts and prayers. Understanding and empathy is called for in his hour of need.
This time of year is hard for some and find it difficult to get into the cheer of the season. I take the Good Doctor’s words to heart. I, for one, welcome jon with open arms, as well as my new favorite poster, jon smith. Much diversity of thought here.
Funny, our university campus are ape shit obsessed with diversity, yet they are intolerate of diversity of thought. Go figure. Judging a book by its cover, if you will.

I think we have a more immediate problem, Houston. With the exception of Huckabee, the other Republican candidates have given tacit approval to gunmen shooting up abortion clinics, and by extension, any other institutions or local protesters who are leftwards of center. Turning Dear into some sort of a folk hero is just a real bad event, and may well encourage copycats. very nutcase who can scrape together $1500 for an AR-15 (not fully automatic, but weekend shooters can empty a 10 round magazine in under 7 seconds, and each round packs far more of a wallop than the near .22 diameter would suggest.)
Beretta has a nice new AR-15 like weapon with the following features, which will make it very easy to take one broken down almost anwhere:
“Telescopic folding stock allows the user to adapt the rifle for a variety of scenarios. All controls are completely ambidextrous. Can be completely disassembled with no tools. Folding front and rear back-up sights and full-length Picatinny rail. 1:7” rate of twist.”

there is nothing the Radical elements of Islam would like better than to goad us int perceiving our enemy is all of Islam. that’s why the champagne flowed after we invaded Iraq. We need a policy based on real facts not emotional lurching. I suggest reading this article in Politico. Seems like this is a good look at the situation on the ground and some reasonable conclusions for strategic action.

Corn based ethanol was a bad idea from the start. Who thought burning food was a great idea?
As for the wood slash you mention, that’s COGEN fuel. That we have plenty of here.

As for Fish’s 10:28,,, Dougy is SO behind the info curve. th AR, no matter who makes it, has the same features.
I prefer the 1:9 twist for better accuracy, and chambered in .308 That REALLY packs a “wallop”.
Note to Dougy… You can get an AR in just about ANY calibour. The 50 Beowulf should really make you crap your depends.
