[Time for some fresh sand. I'm concerned that we don't have a viable declared candidate in Nevada County's District #1 to oppose Ms Heidi Hall for Supervisor. Anyone have any ideas? gjr]

    Not an isolated case. Minnesota Muslims demanding Sharia Law, DHS caught sneaking Somali refugees in here by bus from Mexico, rape epidemic in refugee camps, 1500 terrorists allowed into US, and the news just goes on and on. Too many to post, all dealing with IS smugglers sneaking thousands of fighters into Europe, Muslims eye sending 35 million “refugees” to flood Europe and establish Islamic Stronghold, etc, etc.

    The firest shitty asumption is that humans have any control over the climate on this planet. Capitalism cannot save us from climate change because it is not responsible for the cycical warming and cooling. Mother Nature is control of those cycles and we humans are nothing more than observers and doing a damm poor job at that.

    Oh my. The war on women has really heated up since Glamor Magazine named Catilyn Jenner “Woman of the Year.” Now the old guards of the Feminist Movement are up in arms, calling Catilyn “he” who lacks a “big hairy smelly vagina”. I have never heard such non PC speech in all my life. They are angry, very angry, no doubt. The War is heating up big time as the feminists’ special victim status is being threatened, by a male Olympic Champion of all things. Losing the Victimhood Mantra is the cruelest cut of all. Yep, Jenner don’t have no big ole hairy smelly vagina so he can go do the eunuch thang and shut up. Right on Ladies, express your bad selfs loud and proud. No wonder Trump is/was. riding the wave. The Trump Effect strikes again.

    Frankly, Bill, my personal inventory is short a rat’s ass to give about Glamour Magazine, Caitlyn Jenner, and who are being named Women of the Year. I am aware that this is Rebane’s Sandbox but jeeze, Loise, aren’t there enough things that actually matter? Honestly, even Walt feeding smoked ribs to his dogs is more important!

    Well, Michael, I must say that I am shocked, shocked to the max, that you of all people would commit the grievous and darn near unforgivable sin of misspelling. Where is the grammar Nazis when I finally need one?
    I prefer the commonly accepted Geeze Louise. Or Jeeze Louise because it has a nice rhythm to it, but that’s just me. Loise is so 15th Century.
    With that aside, yes indeed the unfortunate event that happened inside Walt’s Smoker does knock the soon to be Dickless Brucine off the top of the list of impotent things. That we are in full agreement.
    However, the article was not about Glamor Magazine. Nay, a careful reading before 11 at night reveals it is about transphobia and the changing of the guard in the Feminist Movement Establishment. I detect a hint of transphobia in your writing and may I suggest a bit of soul searching to uncover, discover, and discard the hatefull sprout that is growing within. I am certain you were unawares of the demons that dwells within your normally healthy soul. Come to the light.
    Greer had been around the Feminist Liberation Army since before the US government issued the lauded Susan B Anthony Dollar, an historical achievement by any measure. Unfortunately for the dollar coin, the public at large mistook the Susan B. Anthony for a two-bit piece.

    Now, this War on Rodclam…er…the War on Women is really heating up. Why Rodclam would do this is unnecessary, unless her internal polling shows that Bernie is too close for comfort.
    “What all this suggests to me is that the Hillary camp is a bit more worried about Bernie than they’re letting on. Why drop all this tonnage on a 74-year-old socialist who no one thinks can win the Democratic nomination?”

    As Grammarian Laureate (Grammar Nazi is such an ugly term.) I typically ignore misspellings. If you’re going to belabor my use of a correct, if archaic, spelling of a proper name, however, then I am willing to bring attention to your errors. The name of the publication that you reference is “Glamour Magazine” rather than “Glamor Magazine” and Jenner’s chosen forename is spelled “Caitlyn” rather than “Catilyn.” Note, too, that the magazine publishes a list of “Women of the Year” rather than choosing a “Woman of the Year.”
    I take umbrage with your notion that finding these matters of little import indicates any kind of phobia on my part. You appear to have succumbed to the currently popular tendency to conclude that others must oppose anything they don’t actively support. There are a great many things about which I care little but I neither fear them nor am I in any way against them.
    Finally, I do have my demons but feel that I am not unawares[sic] of them!

    Good reply, my good fellow. I even purposely omitted a comma or two and used the wrong plural/singular adverbs and nouns just to throw ya some red meat. But, alas, your true colors shined brightly as you chose to ignore/overlook such errors in English grammer, or is it English grammar?
    “A wiseman overlooks a slight.” You, Mr. Kesti, passed the test with flying colors. A big hat tip to you, sir. Oh. Dear.
    In your final sentence you should have used the object pronoun “me” rather than the object pronoun “I”. A practical way to determine whether you have used the correct form is to omit the other person’s name. Without “Walt and” you would have likely correctly written, “save me” rather than “save I.”

    PaulE 1049pm – Heard through the Republican grapevine that Cheri West is withdrawing her candidacy.
    Grammar administrivia – an easy way to remember whether ‘I’ or ‘me’ or any other personal pronoun is properly used, remove the other participants in the subject or predicate and see if the surviving pronoun still makes sense.
    ‘He gave Bob and I the tickets.’ becomes ‘He gave I the tickets.’, and is clearly wrong. Therefore ‘He gave Bob and me the tickets.’ is correct. More egregiously, ‘Him and me went to the movies.’ asks us to examine both ‘Him went to the movies’ and ‘Me went to the movies’, neither of which work. But ‘He went to the movies’ and ‘I went to the movies’ does, ergo ‘He and I went to the movies.’

    I know you guys can’t grasp this concept but I will give it anyway.
    Racism = Privilege + Power
    Those who don’t like those with privilege and power aren’t being racist they are being reactionary to the discrimination to the system and institutional inequality. The same goes with sexism and basically any type of discrimination.
    Take a few minutes and really think about this concept instead of trying to justify the inequality of access to services, capital, property, and positions of power/ decision making.

    Ben again struggles with the “math”….
    Racism = Privilege + Power
    So a George Soros who clearly has both is racist? I mean the “equation” is definitive…..if you have Privilege (in Bens World this means being white) and Power (the means to effect things…in Soros case because he is wealthy) you are Racist.
    It would seem that there are a whole bunch of proglodytes who are in for a very rude awakening when that memo is received.
    This should be fun!

Since ‘inequality’ is one of the ubiquitous attributes of our universe – guaranteeing that “access to services, capital, property, and positions of power/ decision making” will always be unequal – pray what/who should determine who gets such access in your world?

    The continuing BS from the left about the need for folks that have different chromosomes and parental heritage as a magic elixir for what ails the ruling class is easily destroyed by pointing out that the ‘magic’ disappears as soon as the person in question is a bit too conservative for the left.

    Scott and Everybody,
    I guess you didn’t take the couple minutes to actually think about it but instead went directly in defense mode.
    I made an observation that is true. The Nevada County Board of Supervisors are all Older White Males and has been for a long time. A woman supervisor is going to be a breath of fresh air. I get the white part since the county is like 90% white but five supervisors and five white males probably of average age over 60 years old, come on!

    A woman supervisor is going to be a breath of fresh air.
    This expresses a currently popular notion that I find discomforting. Less so would be, “A qualified and effective supervisor who may also a woman would be a breath of fresh air.” My point is that simply being a woman or, for that matter, a member of any specific subset of humanity, does not, in and of itself, justify election to public office.
