Corporatism – when government has less to sell, there are fewer buyers.

[Boehner's swansong highlights the problems conservatives have had with the man for some time now.  There doesn't seem to be a hill worth dying on in his political geography.  Can some cleverer minds remind us what now the congressional Republicans have to bargain with a rogue hard left Executive branch once they have forfeited the power of the purse which the Constitution specifically reserved for them and them alone?  gjr]

Now this explains much about jeffys self satisfaction……the ability to associate oneself with someone elses work…..

Now Rebane has figured out that Haynes is a real achiever, writing on his blog: “Dr. Anna Haynes’ website NC Voices has been a useful compendium of links to local online information and media sources.”

…..but then isn’t that the very definition of “veteran editor”.
Using this as a metric Matt Drudge is jeffys god!

    Life goes on.
Now here is a 2nd Amendent and a 1st Amendment case all rolled into one. How the courts will rule is not easy to say at first glance.
Think the weapons of choice for the radical element of the Amish Community is a nice pair of sciccors to cut off the wayward ones’ beards. Not a pretty sight.

Hey George, just a few short days ago you censored one of my comments because I used the word “idiot”.
Less than 3-4 months ago we went through the exercise of you claiming you wanted people to stop attacking each other and address the issues. You set some groundless which you immediately allowed people to break.
I think the utter hypocrisy of your position is clearly demonstrated by Mr. Tozer’s rant and your allowance of it.
I think its pretty clear what you want; a venue for a bunch of reactionaries to vent their spleens, with a fig leaf of intellectualism and culture to make you feel like you are providing some kind of service.
Your comment was essentially a ‘fuck you’ to me so I feel perfectly entitled to return the favor, but even that won;t stand without your editorial embedded in my message.
You are a hypocrite, a propagandist, and a dishonorable man. Pure and simple.

Boy, Steve, you sure know how to hurt a guy. Bet Dr. Rebane won’t recover from your hurtful words for a berry, berry long time. Such anger, such rationalization, such justification for dropping the F Bomb. Hey, Mr. Tozer started this and you blame the Good Doc? That is like hiding between the little lady’s shirt.
“You are a hypocrite, a propagandist, and a dishonorable man”. Hmm, I typed that instead of doing the lazy copy and paste, FYI.
They say what we do not like in others is what we really what we despise in ourselves. Propagandist? Hypocrite? (Heck, I always misspell that word, so thanks for showing me how it’s spelled…a time saver no doubt)., Dishonorable man? My, that is what my poisoned tribe calls you, but I digress.
You point one finger forward, you got three fingers pointing back. Try it some time. Take your index finger and point it so your hand looks like a map of Nevada County. Then, count the fingers pointing back.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle white…or was that colored? Whatever.
Helpful Hint #37: If you are going to keep a rabid dog around to do your barking, it is best to keep jon on a shorter leash until he can compose your words in an intelligible manner. That gum dog of yours gets downright incoherent at times when he thinks his master is threatened. And jealous as well. A one man gum dog, if you prefer. Nothing wrong with a loyal gum dog, but he simply does not have your kind of flair. Best to speak for yourself until the dog calms down. Or buy a shorter leash. Butterfly kisses and warm fuzzies

I would suggest you start your own blog and you can use all your foul language you want. Oh, that’s right, you censor others off your blogs. Sorry, I forgot what a hypocrite you are that you forgot that. This is George’s blog and he is the rulemaker, just like you are on your SBC blog and FB. I would suggest you are the person who is the worst troll here as you call the owner a fu****. If you don’t like his rules you are certainly welcome to not come here I suppose. But I would suggest you are a true foil for liberal thinking and you make a great target and example of thinking and actions that are wrecking America.

    jon @ 10:13
Why built an EV charging station when nobody would use it? What, the county employees would need it to go all the way from the Rood Center to the old delapiated Art Deco courthouse?? It’s close enough to walk, but would explain the current obesity epidemic. An Art Deco Courthouse with sixties square box apartment style remodeling is sooo 20th Century in a 19th Century berg, but I digress.
Yes, there is always someone that would use it and take up the best spot to park in the guise of “charging”. Free electricity generated by fossil fuels rocks, so maybe a couple of miserly hoarders would use the EV stations as well.
Most folks that drive those 3 and 4 wheeled electric go carts suffer from the angst of stressing over how much charge is left in the toxic batteries and will they make it home. There is even a new phrase for it, but it currently slips my cranium.
Anyone that lives more than 6 miles from town would be a fool to risk driving one of those golf carts to town and back on a cold night with lights and heater going. Wonder what happens when they do make it to town barely during our common power outages? Sucks to be on the cutting edge I tell ya.
What Quainty Town, USA, really needs are public cell phone chargers for our trimmigrants and other assorted homeless and misfits. And, the phone chargers don’t take up scarce primo parking spaces either. Better than solar panels on a outhouse or wind turbines on a submarine. Plus, we don’t to build it hoping they will come. The riffraff are already here.

jon 1013am – “getting with the times”??, what times? Don’t get me wrong, some day electric vehicles will indeed become practical. For long distance transportation at highway speeds, that is not the case today. Government has to step in with OPM to subsidize or totally fund (i.e. reduce risk) in enterprises where no one will invest their own money either to make the cars or the charging stations. Yes, it is possible for government to shape behaviors through all kinds of forced wealth redistribution.
Re EVs, getting with the ‘times’ has been a trail of tears and embarrassment (were government to have the capacity to feel embarrassed), every prediction of adoption rates and market penetration has fallen woefully short, and for good reasons that totally escape the progressive minds.
How about just making the driving of fossil fuel powered vehicle illegal and then killing those who refuse to give up their gas-guzzlers? Of course, it will be argued that the killing wasn’t for driving the gas-guzzler, but for resisting arrest. But you get the idea (or do you?).

Every day I see more and more EVs on the road; far from a trail of tears, both commuting and vacations in the region. All early innovation like EV’s always have a figurative jump start investment by government and private sector. Charging stations at strategic points are perfect. Its a very good thing that Nevada County has some foresight, and will encourage more businesses to provide a station for their employees. As they stated in their Press Release-County employees with EVs have the best transportation efficiency of anyone. Perfect for drives of less than 30 miles.

Perfect for taking a drive up the coast I bet. I can see myself now going green. Barely make it to some lovely cottage on the rugged beautiful CA coastline on a windy stormy night. There I be with an extension cord running out the slightly ajar door of the Love Shack to the electric golf cart when suddenly the door slams open and shut repeatedly in the wee hour winds, disturbing my peaceful slumber. Ah, going green is not just the proper thing to do, it’s an adventure worthy of telling the grandkids about. How exciting, man against the elements and all that hardy stock stuff.
Oh course, you would have to actually be in CA to have such unanticipated fun. Head east and and the preferred green mode of transportation is Willy Nelson’s Mercedes Diesel powered by restaurant grease. Folks say it smells just like French fries when traveling behind Willy. To me it smelled more like French fries with a bit of marihuana thrown in. I just love these new mean green touring machines!

Electric cars are the transportation of the future; always have been, always will be. Fine for golf carts and short range city cars but you’ll never choose electric to drive from Seattle to LA or over Donner Pass in the winter and those are trips that I’ve needed my cars for.
Early innovations like the EV? Here’s one for you, compare the specs to the Chevy Volt:
    http://electricandhybridcars.com/index.php/pages/FritchleElectricCar.html
Over a century ago and it even had regenerative braking!
The EV craze will die out when subsidies subside and the AGW scare fades away… the politically correct wealthy will be able to buy Lamborghinis again with a clear conscience.

Central Planners like Steve Frisch and SBC urge planning to be urban and close together. That way their EV’s and high-rises don’t need to travel. Shove everyone into a rat’s maze and hire planners to force those ideas into General Plans and zoning laws. Long term communist strategy. EV’s are a big part of that.

Here is some Frischy bait. The Paris based Societe de Calcul Mathematique SA has issued a white patter ahead of next months Paris the sky is falling UN global warming conference. The scathing report calls the fight against global warming ‘absurd and a costly and pointless crusade. you would probably have to go quite a long way back in human history to find such a mad obsession.’ ‘Have we reached this point in a country that claims to be rational?’
There is not a single fact, figure or observation that leads us to conclude the worlds climate is in any way disturbed. It is variable, as it has always been. Modern methods are far from being able to accurately measure the planets overall temperature even today, so measurements made 50 or 100 years ago are even less reliable.’

donb 828pm – I’m afraid the successful argument to halt the odyssey of True Believers will have to be science-free, since their quest for transforming the world is only political and also science-free. Continuing to fight the hysteria with reason and logic based on science has almost no chance of working since every counter-PGW presentation is simply ignored as they turn up the volume on their ‘sky is falling’ narrative. I continue to believe that somewhere there exists a political lever that will derail the central planners’ A21 program.

Brother Ben, that is confusing with the CEO’s, you are speaking of the corporate numbers yes? The BofA CEO could not have a refund of 1.9B. If we balanced our corporate taxes to even the industrialized average we could repatriate a couple of trillion that would build factories and fund research. As it is now they have to keep it offshore as any responsible custodian of share holders money has to. Confiscation tax policies only defeat capitol repatriation and thus denies our citizens of the benefits of Americas corporation’s successes.

I see the democrat Jim Firth attacks me personally as well as our blogs responding to my OP-ED on their party policies. I wonder why Firth never addressed my points on Planned Parenthood and the rest. But he is a dem activist and was the gun runner Yee’s Chief of Staff and a union man from SF.

My, my, the shoe is on the other foot. I even feel sorry for Lemon now. Welcome to Lib Wally World, Don L.
How offense to utter “well, let’s not jump to conclusions until more facts are in. Let’s wait and see.”
Boy, off with his head! What a racist!
Seems that posters on these pages were called racists and white power types for saying the same thing about the Treyon Martin thang.
Don Lemon, you are a bad man for exercising a bit on common sense and not becoming all hysterical until the how, what, when, where, why, and to what extent comes marching in.
Is nothing sacred? Now they are eating their own. There is No Room for veering from the predetermined script.

Well, things have changed. It never ever occurred to me even one single time that a healthy work ethic could in anyway be remotely be considered offensive, demeaning, hurtful, or racist.
Guess it’s time to get with the times:

    Fish,
You guys seem to be fine when it comes to the wealthy and big business not paying their taxes. They knew what the taxes were when they started and agreed. Now they have made their profits they and don’t want to pay back into the system that allowed them to have so much. Pieces of shit, all of them.

Taxes? The Feds have recieved more money than at anytime in history. The fifty percent that don’t pay (are you one of them Ben Emery?) leave the running of the bloated Federal budget to the other fifty percent that actually contribute. So those corporations you listed who employ millions actually do pay taxes Ben Emery, just not into the coffers you wish. Also, how about all those other taxes Ben Emery? Payrolls, benefits, one half of SSN, property taxes, and hey have you ever seen the rates in NYC?
Your squealing about taxes is really rich. The problem is the tax code. And the spending by government. These corporations are following the laws. They hire a lot of your pals, the lawyers, to figure out how to navigate the tax world. They also hire a lot of Accountants. You wanna put all those people who actually pay taxes out of work?
You and your ilk already transfer 3.5 trillion every year into your pockets from the people that actually do things. You should be grateful. Oh, and all those billions we send to the poor of the world? Let’s stop that and spend it on the infrastructure here. How about it?
I am sure crickets will entail.

Your first two words of your comment is offensive, hurtful, bigoted, and racist. “You guys” is code for grouping people of non color into the racist, bigoted, intolerate, homophobe, sexist Nazi camp. We know what you meant by “you guys”. Bigoted at best, profiling and dangerous hate speech at worse.
Stop it, Ben, or I am telling George on you.

Do you have any evidence that the corporations you listed have violated US tax laws?

“Bill Tozer” (who comments on Rebane’s blog) sounds pretty creepy. But then he probably considers that a badge of honor.

Wonder what the Holy Words from the Grey Lady has to say from on high this fine morning. Let’s take a peek.
    Favorite quote:
‘It is aimed at sending a message, not just to Tarantino, but to anyone whose voice carries great weight in society,” said Carl Dix, one of the group’s organizers. “If you speak out, we will come after you, threaten your livelihood and attempt to scare you back into silence.”
Ah, excellent timing. More libs find out that their tactics have a way of boomeranging back on them. Silence you peasants or you will be silenced. Oh, the irony is so delicious. Yummy.

Fish @ 8:16. What, was it something I said?? Oh yeah, I think I posted something last night about The Purplre Mountain’s Travesty’s bizarre normal behavior.
Well, to tell ya the truth, Jeffried, I have grown tired of “you guys” repeating the list of George, Todd, Don, and some guy from Carmicheal in glorious derision and always leaving me out. Hey, you can’t do that to this attention whore.
After much reflection and introspection, I knew I had to step my game up a couple of notches to make the list. I have arrived!!! Thank you, thank you, and I want to thank The Academy, by Mother, by 7th grade English teacher, my 10th grade English teacher and all the grossly obese little people who made this happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Kinda creepy? Oh, his Lardship has no idea how creepy, nor does he posses the imagination to conceive what creepy things I have done with an evil sinister grin. Of course, one cannot expect an adward winning journalist to possess that kind of mind to conceive the ducks not in a neat row, , so I have to cut His Dishonable Discharge some slack.
Creepy? Well, tomorrow is Halloween, is it not.? Time to tap, tap, tap, rap-a-tap on the side of some humble abode in the still of the night. Boo.
Tanks for the hat tip. Tanks a rocket. I have moved up in the world. Going through life without a title is rough, I tell ya. Now I have arrived. Drinks are on me.
