George, cannot argue with her poor strategic decisions, even if you accept that all IT companies at that time were facing challenges. Buying Compaq, an unprofitable dog, a “heavy metal outfit”, on the cusp of the cloud computing era? Enterprise value drop greater than any other big name IT outfit of the time. As I said recently, her fiasco as COO at Lucent was even worse. She set up a house of cards there that crumbled real quick. I personally knew people in Lucent who were buying up company stock at 77 bucks a share, only to see it drop to low single digits. Surely you know the tale of the Bell Labs and all the great assets and history that were trashed during that time. Employees of that once great company are still sick about it.

Word is that The Speaker wanted to quit last year but Cantor ( his hand
Ickes successor) got voted out of office. The Republican Party is a party of many factions which simply refuses not fit into crapper’s monolith view of us of The Bad Party.
We are pissed over here. The 2014 mid terms were the nation’s voice to start busting some balls now that we were given the majority. First thing we did was give away a few committee chairmanships to those of the losing party and elected John B as Speaker.
Now John was unable to get all our factions together with one voice. Granted, it is easier to get elected than to govern at times, but we are now more pissed than ever, including 2014. Now to get rid of the pussy in the Senate Majority Leader’s chair. He let Harry Reid prevent all bills of note to ever reach Obama’s deck. Obama did not even have to use his veto pen, and Harry “put politics ahead of country” Reid was/is the minority leaper.
Well, the Tea Party is charging ahead gathering more unity while the Dems are now rightfully known as The Party of Old White People.
Thanks Jon for your concern. It ain’t pretty watching the many factions of the Republican Party duke it out under our Big Tent. Granted, not as exciting as the Dems internal fighting in 68, but a takedown going on and going down nonetheless,. Oh boy, was Mayor Daley pissed at the time, lol.
I won’t think we are too open to Nancy or the crapper’s advice. Just saying, but enjoy the show.
I have no advice myself for the current Party of Old White Folk, formerly known as The Left. Good luck with fresh ideas and keeping the status quo going as it currently is. This evening’s Obama bland statement to Xi Jinping to stop hacking us and play nice was beyond embarrassing. It was so weak that Xi didn’t even bother to respond, knowing the worth of this president’s admonitions as demonstrated to Iran, Russia, Syria, Iraq, and yes, even to China. We are setting new lows in US foreign policy; Chamberlain’s ‘Peace in our time!’ was brilliant in comparison.
And now it turns out that Hillary really perjured herself in the email scandal. It was announced this afternoon that our Leading Liar’s yoga and wedding plan emails contained Benghazi discussions among other secrets. And she specifically denied the Benghazi content. Why she is not in jail awaiting a grand jury indictment is beyond me, save that it does go on to corroborate the total corruption of our judicial system.LikeLike

One of the fundamental tenets of RR is that liberals are in whole innumerate and TOTALLY illogical thinkers. An extremely effective demonstration of this is in their belief that America’s immigration policy reduces world poverty – we currently admit about 1M/year, and the cry from the Lefties is that we should double it. My position continues to be that even doubling it is simply pissing into the wind. BTW, the close to 4B of the world’s poor all live in socialist countries where government is run by the corrupt elites. Here is an effective illustration of my point.

The only solution to really reducing the number of the world’s poor is to have them stay in place, and change their governments to open market capitalist systems that encourage and defend entrepreneurship. Walt and I like different things and different people. We have our own brains and think for ourselves. Boehner came to California and campaigned for numerous Republicans and across the country. He was a big draw and helped raise a lot of money for even Tea Party. We kicked “jons” ass out of control of Congress and “jon” is just mad he was canned.
He booted Pelosi from power and held the country as best he could. I don’t diss him for that. He actually got a lot done but the Senate foiled a lot of the House measures. I wrote a long letter to McConnell asking him for the “nuclear” option. Get back to 51 votes.LikeLike
