    Think it is wise not to engage Mr. Paul about his grandma. Too emotional. Requiring immigrants to learn some conversational English is not far fetched. After all, how can they prepare for taking the citizenship test if they can’t read nor comprehend what’s on the quiz.?? Maybe it was a non issue back in the days of taking the boat to Ellis Island to be greeted by the fumigator’ hoses. We just don’t let certain lice and bugs into our country for health reasons.
    Nowadays the immigrants (at least I am told) have to take tests, civics lessons, and how our Constitution works. No immigrant is guarenteed citizenship, period. At least that has not changed. It’s called the path to citizenship, which requires some basic English language understanding. Like reading the 4 big letters on a stop sign and knowing what STOP means is helpful.
    Ok, given only one choice in a hypothetical situation and no other choices, should The USA let in a Greek or a Syrian Christian….. or a Greek or a Syrian Muslim? Hmmm. Not an easy answer for sure. Zero is a nice round number. Besides, Syrian refugees are initially Greece’s problem, not ours. Then the olive pickers hire boats to ship them out to Northern Europe ASAP. If the Greeks don’t want them, that should tell us something about the Greeks and the Syrians. Maybe the Syrians took a look around and figured any place is better that “the islands” of the birthplace of democracy. :).

As far a R’s heading to Kentucky, two out of 16 is a small percentage but you all see the glee in Paul’s eyes trying to make it all 16. And he is a “journalist”! Another lesson on why no one believes the media.
    Regarding speaking English. Paul Emery did you say your Grand mama was legal or illegal? If illegal yes, she should have been sent back to the Cradle of Democracy and I bet she would have helped Greece stay solvent. I also thank your ancestors for defeating the Persians at the “Hot Gates” in 480 BC. Without their sacrifice we would be speaking Farsi.

    Oh Paul, you can’t control your glee. Miss Smith is a life long Democrat and Hucklebee does not have a popcorn fart’s chance for the nomination. Cruz will definitely stick around. I will say that Michael Hucklebee is a good man of moral convictions, as is Ms. Davis the Democrat. Both believe in their values to a fault. This whole thing is unfortunate. Under the laws of Bowand County, only her signature on the marriage license makes it valid. A substitute signature does not fly. Wonder how this will all work out. We all know this is a “very very sticky situation” as Trump put it. Geez, how can 1.2% to 1.6% of the population create such a big stink everywhere they go?
    At 80 grand a year being a clerk, Ms. Smith might be willing to sell out her moral compass. Might, but unlikely.

    Well, the Judge made it quite clear. Somehow, I believe a compromise will be reached to accommodate the Lifelong Member of the Democrat Party, ie, the Kentucky Woman. Lord knows all the years of toil our friends from the left have struggled to achieve fairness in the workplace. A reasonable workplace accommodation is needed and is the law of the land.     Ah, the old loin cloth and eating locus and wild honey. Quite Bibical. I sure hope Mr. Anderson had a fantastic time in the alkaline soil. Hmm. It was breezy here the last few days, so maybe he has some sand grit stuck in his teeth for show and tell. All in all, I bet that festival is getting fairly tame considering its crass commercialism.
    They spent over a quarter of a million dollars just building the BM main pavilion/pedestal. The good news is that no one lit The Man prematurely this year. That was a bummer when he was torched before the closing cermrmony by some disgruntled Santuary City by the Bay lawyer. Bet that lawyer became one unpopular dude.
    I think we should all celebrate the arts and the jaw dropping creativity displayed at BM. Look, some of the things they come up with a great ideas. Teenage Enema Nurses gone militant and blood soaked bigger than life Barbie Dolls serving Bloody Mary’s…er…Bloody Barbies was right down my alley before I put the plug in the ole moonshine jug. If I was a young vagabond gypsy again, I would find a way to sneak in. 800 clams to sleep in the drifting sands is a bit to highbrow for me, then and now.

    Todd, if and when Mr Anderson posts some great pics of decadence, please try to be nice and maybe I will get to see some good drone shots of what gravity does to an aging bod. Or, maybe not. Strike that request.

    Oh Jon, people do change. Back in the day, Walt was at BM in his Dale Evans one piece torquise bathing suit that got soiled beyond repair. Learning from that year, he came appropriately dressed in his Farmer John’s hot pink wetsuit that held up much better in the terrain.
    Remember, Jon, we all came from somewhere. Plus, unemployment is no fun. You have time off with no money. Then you work and have money but no time off. Story of my life since I belatedly decided to settle down and become an upstanding citizen. Remember Walt is the dude that grew hooch so powerful that his buddies would forget their girlfriends’ phone numbers. And that was before you entered middle school.
    Life is not a competitive sport, albeit I doubt Walt would ever even for a millisecond want to swap his life for your apartment. See, that last sentence was mean. We are are in flux, life brings constant change, and we are all works in progress and current situations are fleeting.
    I am a mean sumbitch, but putting Walt or Kesti down in hard or slow times is something I would never stoop to. That was too low for even a snake like me. You are indeed an arrogant hater. Have you lost your way lately? Remember all the hours you spent working on yourself and vowing to make the world a better place? You are heartless, but it does no good trying to shame a psychopath. I know. Takes one to know one.
    Walt can speak for himself. But, you need to ask yourself where does all this hate come from? You must have been abused as a child. Sad sad things happen to us all, I suppose.

    Burning Man News: a nice young fella from Nevada County stopped by today, about 23 years of age and just got back from BM. 70,000 souls and 29,000 vehicles. He and his buddies went well prepared, had a great time, and has been invited back to play at the center stage anytime. He and his buds change places and they are 5 bands, lol.
    2 highlights.
    Walt, seems the old hippies come unprepared with a blanket and a couple of granola bars only. Place gets 80 mph gusts. So the old hippies hangout and sleep around the center stage, which most of the younger/other crowd does not appreciate. So, this young man was sitting in his camp with generator and Christmas light strings and all the comforts of home with his tent secured with 2 and a half feet long rebar by tentstakes pounded in when a guy asks if he could play the drums and he brought his buds along. They got up on the stage and pounded out heavy metal and anything they wanted, but heavy metal was preferred by the mysterious dude from The BM organization. Guess they were fed up with the old unprepared hippies playing the homeless around that area, so the heavy metal woke their butts up and eventually drove them of, lol. Old hippies ain’t as cool as they once were.
    2). Seems our Nevada County young bucks weren’t very politically correct either. They joined with a group of people from Idaho and Michigan and one guy from West Virginny and formed the White Trash Camp, and put on stupid garb and improv the roll. Said that guy from West Virginny really was over the top.and natural White Trash leader. Oh, he said a lot of people walked by and you could tell they did not like that name or the Camp one bit, lol I am proud of the young bucks, I tell y’all.
    They will be back next year on the house to drive away old hippies that come without tents.

    In the waning hours of this legislative session there have been a number of surprises such as the draconian global warming gas rationing failing when it had such momentum. The biggest surprise so far was the United Food and Commercial Workers Union flipping on the pot growers this week and siding with the Police Chiefs and League of Cites on the pot bill AB266 in a letter to the Gov. asking him to go with the language they agreed to and not change anything. On the other side now are the growers groups and today we had the NAACP with Wille Brown lobbying for easier licensing requirements for felons. They were rebuffed and complained that ‘they have language they like and they are too far down the road now.’ We shall see if the Gov. can keep herding the cats and close the deal. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the 13 pot legalization ballot props that are floating right now.
