[Wow! I take a little trip into Preconnectivity Land and the sandbox overflows – isn't Hillary's email scandal grand? But boys and girls, let's not forget that the woman has soooo many other scandals to answer for, so concentrating all our energies unraveling her email fu@% ups will work to her benefit if the Dems and the lamestream (with a cooperating FBI and DoJ) can bundle it up and make the whole thing go away. Trying to jump onto another scandal (take your pick) will then seem like so much witch hunting – 'well we didn't get you with the emails, now let's try Benghazi.' My take is that we need to keep her whole ball of putrid wax in focus; compromising national security through her email shenanigans is just one reason she's not qualified for the WH. gjr]

re StevenF’s 1205pm in the 23aug15 sandbox – “… on the back porch of life”, a very powerful metaphor indeed. Evocative bagatelles like that and “the dustbin of history” is what the collectivists have been recommending as repositories for all those who are not their fellow travelers on their socially just road to the ever receding workers’ paradise.

Hillary Clinton is a perfect representative of what is wrong with the Democratic Party. Her rhetoric and her actions(what she fights for) don’t line up. President Obama is the same way.
The only way Hillary can win the primary is if the DP establishment protects her while making sure her challengers cannot navigate the DP primary process with enough electorates to win the election. In 2008 Obama pulled off one of the biggest upsets in DP history by strategic campaigning. I am pretty sure Hillary one the popular vote and held the super delegate advantage but still lost.LikeLike

Now Boardman tell the full context. When asked about the idea he said it was an issue in New Hampshire town halls and from LE, remember NH is in the midst of a massive heroin epidemic and all that implies. So saying their concerns deserve consideration is way different than initiating an advocacy campaign for the idea. Be reminded that the heroin explosion that was seen coming last year when the cartels reacted to the explosion of weed availability by switching pot farms in Mexico to poppies. Relaxing weed laws did not make the cartels go away, they just morphed to another product to feed their existing distribution lines. So keep that in mind next time you hear someone advocate for cutting the DEA budget.

Uh Oh we’ve done it now Ben called us racists again…..
As for the Fab Five, they without a doubt support racist policies and agenda no matter how hard they like to pretend they don’t. Do I consider them direct dangers to people of color? No, but do think they have no problem if there friend(big government) makes sure that people of color are discriminated against and have a much harder time moving upward on the SES ladder.
Poor sentence structure aside…..we are the ones in favor of “(big government)” now Ben?
Instead of merely engaging in further moral preening over at Pellines perhaps you’d like to elaborate…”prove it”….if you will?LikeLike

I have proven it over and over again. And yes big government is good when it isn’t aimed at white male taxes or ability to buy fire arms.
All things Fab Five generally support with big government controlling
-Women
-People of Color
-Rounding up Muslims
-Taking guns away from Black Panthers
-Voting
-Preemptive invasions of sovereign nations, which has a whole slew of things attached to it.
-Violating civil liberties in the false pursuit of catching “the bad” MuslimsLikeLike

Ben,, your bordering on “certifiable”. Just how are “we” controlling women? ( I take it your not married)
People of color? Now there is a real good one. They have more “rights” then “we” do.
Just where is the raghead internment camps?
BP’s?? They are a terrorist org. Yes, I don’t want the criminal element to own weapons.
Voting? Just who else should be in charge? Don’t like the idea of “one person, one vote?”
LIBS have taken care of that little problem.
You an ISIS supporter? You forget that the enemy from a foreign land drew first blood?
Yes. Take the fight to them in their own streets. Forget Somalia? LIBs dragged us into that “humanitarian” ass handing.LikeLike

Your regular bouts of indignance followed by shotgun blasts of links…..links that as often as not are embarrassingly self-referential…..(remember the constitutions nod to the Iroquois)….where two of your three links went back to the same congressional declaration thanking the Iroquios for their constitution hardly constitute proof of anything.
All things Fab Five generally support with big government controlling
-Women (False – pay for your own birth control and abortion services)
-People of Color (Again proof is required. Simply arguing that we should look judiciously at how social service money is doled out is a political question and is a legitimate topic for discussion.)
-Rounding up Muslims (I don’t recall ever having said this but if you can find evidence by all means please present it!)
-Taking guns away from Black Panthers (See item immediately above)
-Voting (I don’t think felons, children, and non-citizens should be allowed to vote. We also discussed a test to qualify to vote that you lost your mind over because, and correct me if I’m wrong that dimwits who normally pull the lever for democrats would be more likely to be excluded.)
-Preemptive invasions of sovereign nations, which has a whole slew of things attached to it. (Again Ben, one of the areas in which we have agreed has been the indiscriminate use of the military.)
-Violating civil liberties in the false pursuit of catching “the bad” Muslims (I don’t even recall discussing this (although I know it has been discussed here). If you can provide proof of my wishing to violate the civil rights of bad Muslims refresh my memory and we can discuss it.LikeLike

Preemptive invasion of sovereign nations- Hell you guys want to invade and kill the entire middle east

Ben, you seemed resigned to the fact that Hillary will win the Democrat nomination in 2016. We are in the same camp on this one (at this brief moment in time). I just don’t see the Justice Department or any department in the Administration going Deep Throat on her. The wheels of justice turn slowly, like years concerning Rodham’s extra curricular affairs of State.
With that said, let’s look at Bernie. Senator Sanders will draw the University Liberals without question. Middle class? Some. The Women vote? Some. Black and Lations? Some. Win the whole ball of wax? Doubtful. One must remember that the University Liberal wing is a small percentage even in the Democrat Party. Sucks to be you.
Now let’s look at the Right Wing, where I stand. Can we break 50% come Nov, 2016? Perhaps, but not win the only important thing called the Electoral College. The Blue states are in the driver’s seat and have the upper hand to win. Sure, there will always be battleground states and close calls, but generally the Electoral College favors the Democrats for the foreseeable future.
Now, let’s look at some wild cards and conventional wisdom, in general. From your prespective, people ( the middle class) think business and business clout is far more untrustworthy than the government. I feel government is far more untrustworthy than business. You feel trustworthy government should do more to address social ills, I feel it should be involved in our daily lives less. There will always those that whine their job sucks big time and they hate their lives. Sucks to be them.
This is where I see the real battleground happening. Soccer Moms, Blacks, blue collar whites and the mobile do not seek total political revolution, a massive upheaval and starting anew with new rules. No, that is the stuff University Liberals like to discuss but gains little traction outside of university towns, Reform, yes. Economic reform? Yes. Bread and butter stuff, aka, kitchen table issues, yes!!!! Getting the sleaze out of Gov’t? Yes. Wholesale tearing down the system and rebuilding it from scratch, no. Political Revolution? No. Sucks to me you.LikeLike

Release ’em from Gitmo and the dogs return to their vomit. Sure, some get killed by those awful drone strikes. The ones that live out their days on the battlefield are busy raping women, beheading children, taking slaves, taking away guns from poor citizens on color belonging to different tribes, trampling human rights, all the while winning the all around good guy of the year awards.
Did you notice people of color who are not mentally ill or dirt poor homeless have no problem seeking and obtaining an airline ticket to fly to a loved one’s funeral. Them nasty airlines and TSA require photo IDs. Did you notice that people of color have no problem getting a State Issued ID/driver’s license when they need/want one? Did you notice people of all colors need an ID to sign up and obtain Obamacare, Social Security, food stamps, welfare, subsidized housing? It’s a bloody conspiracy I tell ya to keep the colored folks down under Whitey’s big fat thumb.
Taking away guns from The New Black Panters is a new one to me, so I plead ignorance of the law and am uninformed. Did hear rumors of taking guns away from vets, white homegrown terrorists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and darn near everybody including the unfortunate misunderstood ones sitting in lockup. Just like during Katrina, give us your guns like now! We are here to help you and then leave you defenseless. Those must be just vile rumors. Imagine our overlords trying to take away our guns. Ha!, just silly scuttlebutt. I say let the Black Panters have all the guns they want to keep Liberal Crackers at bay. Lord knows my poor drunkard people on the Res need more guns too, considering what the EPA had been doing to their way of life.
Fortunately the base of the anti-gun movement is almost exclusively found within white liberalism, aka, Bernie’s base. Unfortunately, somebody handled they the keys to our current Administration.LikeLike

While I’m far more sympathetic to the “Beatles” (the Fab Four) and their conservatism than your progressive nonsense I think I fall far enough outside the consensus here that lumping me in as a member of “The Fab Five” is an error.

People of color- Too many so I will pick one. Stop and Frisk (Never supported it (nor did I oppose it either though) interesting that now that it’s been terminated crime….particularly gun crime…..is showing statistically significant gains.)
Rounding up Muslims- GWB rounded up Muslims at random and through them into Guantanamo Bay without charge (Maybe you should inform him that he’s a member of “The Fab Five”.)
Taking Guns Away from Black Panthers- Mulford Act (You certainly got me here Ben….I lobbied hard for this one…..when I was all of four years old)
Voting- Again so many but here is one Voter Id’s, which has been proven in study after study to disproportionately affect poor people of color (Ben getting a government approved ID card is not such an impediment if somebody wants to exercise the right! A significant percentage of the black community will camp out overnight for concert tickets, the latest offering from Nike, or Section 8 vouchers that your entreaty leaves me unconvinced. I imagine that these magical “studies” if examined closely will turn out to be like most of the “research” promulgated by social science flawed at best and outright fraud at worst.)
Preemptive invasion of sovereign nations- Hell you guys want to invade and kill the entire middle east (Again Ben since I only speak for myself in these matters…..clearly false!)
Civil liberties- I am not going to dig through but my guess you probably didn’t since you have a more libertarian streak unlike Todd who does and supports anything Republican. (Take it up with Todd then. He has never shied away from a discussion with you.)

Every Benjaminette type has one thing in common. It’s their standard MO. When done with their weak arguments, they toss out labeling the opponent as a racist, thus winning all debates due to moral superiority. Benjaminette takes much comfort that he is right and wins solely because you are a racist, dear reader. Debate ended. Trump card laid out on the table. End of story. Read them and weep in solitude as the winner triumph-fully wanders off to something else, smug and proud of yet another victorious session with them in-bred ignorant hillbillies. You are a racist, thus I win every time.
Oh, I wish my playbook was that simple and brief.LikeLike

Read readers: Have any of you fine humanoids noticed the new buzz words coming out from the Left recently? It is like they are all on the same page. Rather than coming out and saying stuff plainly such as “you are a racist” or “you can’t handle a Blackman as President”, they have come up with an attack from the flank instead of a frontal assault.
That new strategy is to say “racial overtones” or “racial overtures” or along the lines of pointing out hints of racism in our speech and agruments. It is slightly more subtle but not any less effective to the Left. Guess they cannot prove it outright, so they allude to our profound racism by insinuation. Much more politically correct I suppose. Guess the Left had to make some changes after getting their heads handed to them on a platter in 2014, aka, just last year. Perhaps The Ones Who are Empowering The Voiceless Powerless got tired of being labeled the true racists and hate mongers living in a place far removed from reality.LikeLike

re BenE’s 709am – “Voting- Again so many but here is one Voter Id’s, which has been proven in study after study to disproportionately affect poor people of color.”
I am not aware of any such “study after study”. But I am aware of studies which show that black voting increases when voter IDs are required. It seems that people tend to vote more when they know that their votes are not diluted and/or cancelled by illegitimate voters.LikeLike

An excellent analysis of how racist is now used……you might want to file this one for future reference Ben.
STUDY: BLIND PEOPLE CAN BE RACIST: “Twenty-five people? This is more like a large focus group than any sort of quantitative endeavor. It makes a good headline but this is hardly scientific.”
But then, starting in 2007, anybody could be weaponized by the left and declared racist if it advanced the narrative. As we approach 2016, anybody can be weaponized and declared sexist as well.

Walker didn’t say a word about heroin when he discussed the idea of a fence along the Canadian border over the weekend.
But if New Hampshire’s heroin problem was the impetus for the idea, a fence across the Canadian border won’t keep heroin out of this country any better than a fence along the Mexican border will stop the flow of cocaine and pot. As long as resident of the world’s wealthiest nation want the stuff, the producers of this poison will find a way to get it to their customers.

Who cares. Whatever floats their boat. I wish Steve a good, pleasant, yet unproductive week. And I will miss Jon. Like him or not, he brings up points he feels are valid and some of them are valid.
Yes, Atumn is in the air. I usually head up the mountain in late July to see how the Black Oaks’ leaves are turning/falling and how busy the woodpeckers and squirrels are stashing acorns. A true indicator of an early winter or not, a rough winter or not. That is why I cannot understand Steve’s advocation and vocation of doing the scrotched Earth thing to lay out solar panels. Hey bck from fun stuff and I see a snark from Steve Frisch about my “laurels”. How did you know? I thought my laurels were private. Oh well. My hope for your week is SBC does not foist more tax dollars from the saps. But since that is Steve Frisch’s full time job I guess were are screwed.
BillT, I saw a picture of Frisch and it ain’t pretty. He is competing with Peliine for tonnage. But I bet the restaurants are making a lot of money off him.
GeorgeB, I think Walker did say that about heroin. I also believe it was tongue and cheek. Regarding those illegal drugs. The dealers need to be executed. That is the only thing I like about Chinese law. Sell dope, die by firing squad. One appeal, max. After a while, maybe not so many death drugs on the street.LikeLike

GB- The local coverage in NH has been focused on the epidemic and its presence in the campaigns. In our national conference calls with the State group leaders the north east reports massive inroads by cheep heroin and the overdoses that go with it. Its a big issue in CA too but gets lost in the news cycles unless there is some sexy aspect that makes for good tv. Well we agree that a fence on the northern boarder is not practical. But again the point was Walker did not come out advocating for it but was respecting the opinions of the families of OD’s and LE he spoke with in NE. Considering an idea is a long way from endorsing or advocating for it.

My Tood, that is so harsh. Prisons are for rehabilitation, not paying debts to society, lol. Read The New Jim Crow Laws yet? We should be educating the incarcerated and training them in a skilled trade they can use in 15-25 years when they are allowed back in civil society. I say take a drunken horse thief, sober him or her up, and you got yourselves a horse thief. But, that is a topic for another day. No need to defend a hill not under drone attack, lol. Opps, make that illegal drone attacks, lol.
Speaking of this hideous use of LOL, I saw a picture that had our President’s mug in the middle of the O in LOL. Thought that was putting “The O” to good use. And all this time I though 0 equated to zero.
Saw a bumper sticker yesterday (near The Union) on the back of a SUV with a fine looking 30 something lady driving. Easy on the eyes. The sticker read “Reality….will you recognize it when you see it?” Very cute. Cuts both ways.LikeLike

Oh Todd, some people are simply not photogenic. I know, photos never do me justice. Must run in the family. A group photo shows one butt ugly family to say the least. The camera lies! Nobody is that hard on the eyes…well, except perhaps the Dark Lord of the Flies. Yep swarms of flies circling around his $116.00 dinner plate when he gets up for a 6th heaping helping of fine wine and grub.. Well, at least I have never ever been barred from an All You Can Eat Buffet, nor to they put up the Closed Sign if they see me a’coming.
Being ugly ain’t all that bad. Ugly people need love too and our women are less particular. Plus, we try harder.LikeLike

My column wasn’t online today because somebody on the copy desk forgot to move it Sunday night. It should be online shortly.LikeLike
