   Jon is correct that coal is down as a power source (although as investors are keen to notice that doesn’t mean it will necessarily be down as an investment)….and it will be even more down in the future as a power source…..largely because natural gas is preferable….and people are overproducing oil and natural gas… until technologies that can substantively decarbonize the emissions from coal are in place future regulatory policy will push it down even more…
   But if you are betting on climate regulation going away good luck…whether we have a Republican or Democratic administration….the Republican Party will be backing a carbon tax within 6 years..

   That’s and ECO bastard gimmick. Any Repub who even speaks of it get’s tared and feathered, then run out of town.
   AGW has run it’s course, and the masses are fed up with the scam. From the fake jobs to the cost of everyday life.
   The proof is in the voting Stevie Wonder. LIBS= “dead men walking”. Look at the joke of a Presidential run by any of them. Hillary’s going to the big house, Col. Sanders can’t even protect his own platform from being invaded, and chased off the stage. Now the bet is “Uncle Joe”,, who will only say what his puppet masters tell him.
   The day of the career politician is just about over.. The People are speaking.
   Trump is the LIBS and RINO’s worst nightmare. And the other two “outsiders” are doing well too.
   Keep grasping at straws Steve. Wind and Solar just ain’t living up to the billing.
   Didn’t you get the memo? Subsidies are getting the axe.

   Looks like Gregory and Steve The Frog Poisoner agree, along with others. The green mean machine ain’t going away but there is not a practical viable affordable popular solution yet to the way things are right now where the rubber meets the road. So, it’s a combo pizza we are talking about. Slow and steady wins the race. They didn’t build The Great Wall of China in a week. They build it one stone at a time. Steve and Greg might agree (as stated on the record) that going green is a process, perhaps a generation or two process (my words). I only have a cloudy ball to peer into the future with. So, everybody is right, nobody is wrong and it you disagree, that makes you either a big prick or a little dick. Or, like His Purpule Majesty, a toothless dog.

   Well Don the local “out there” crowd have wanted to highjack the Burning man franchise.
   Now the GOD has sent a new plaque of biting bugs to the Black Rock desert, to the exact spot of the trip fest, it just may happen. These kooks need to get their freak on.
   And it IS Berkeley of the foothills. Just have two extra shots of the hard stuff, and put an order in for a seeing eye dog. Yes,, you might go blind from butt ugly from the waste up. Be we all need to live dangerously now and then.
   As a Construction worker we have an immunity (to a point). Our standards a lower, and and Kyote ugly is OK. We just order more beer. So ECO hipster chick can’t be much worse.

    Please check the plotted coal consumption data from the US Energy Information Administration that I presented and again cited in this comment stream (1041am). Do you know of an alternative use for such an increased amount of coal consumption in the next twenty years? Please share, or send more crickets.

    will be needed to make up for the North West wildfires? That’s a buttload of AGW gases that need to be mandated into compliance. Regain THOSE “carbon credits”. Better start suing the counties.. Ya’ can’t blame the loggers for this. But we can blame the ECO bastards for PPM.(piss poor management)

    Not a chance the GOP will be helping to institute a carbon tax within 6 years; for one thing, the oilmen are by and large GOP; for another thing, the people would be the ones who actually pay the carbon tax and they won’t stand for it.
    For another, from the looks of the research I’ve seen (from physicists, not the climate modelers) we’ll be into an undeniable cooling by then and the people will have no stomach for discredited IPCC brand BS. Tough luck, Steve. Had the warming kept going another 10 years you guys could have had your way. Maybe.
    Better concentrate on keeping the GOP from winning the presidency; it’s the beginning of the end for you if all three legs of the Federal government are Republican in 2017, and the actual end for you and the so-called SBC will be when the California Climate Caliphate is voted out. It’s hard to see how the voters won’t toss out the Democratic Party once public employees have a choice whether or not to give their designated union bosses a pile of cash to give to Democratic candidate (the best thing the SCOTUS could do next Spring) AND the AGW scare is over, leaving Democratic incumbents all dressed up with nowhere to go.
