   Holy Macarel, Fish, 3 dudes preparing for Martial Law? I can’t believe my Sacred Cow eyeballs. Oh crap. I hope they don’t find those cases of Spam, jugs of water, cans of Sterno, and my wind up radio I stashed under the house preparing for Y2K. Had no idea my best laid plans of mice and men were violating Fed law. Well, perhaps Homeland Security is correct after all. We all be terrorists now, us Bible Thumping honkies spouting Don’t Tread on Me. Hope they don’t see where I tore the tags of my emergency bedrolls and sleeping bags. Another Federal offense. Me so bad with my subversive mind and narrow views. Me be a downright threat to National Security and ignorance of the law is not excuse. I have run out of places to hide. No silver lining unless somebody wants a case of pickled cod. Opps, that would be destroying evidence, another Federal offenses. Boy, it’s been awhile since I got caught between a rock and hard place. Please, friends and foe, best to distance yourselves from the likes of me for your own good.

I don’t want to speak for Dems-because I’m not one- but wouldn’t the answer be obvious- Dems are a political class of American capitalists who believe in balancing purely economic issues with matters of social and environmental justice. Socialists desire most or all of the private economy to be owned or by the government.

    Walt 133pm – Such questions, while reasonable, have the common answer never uttered by a progressive – new gun laws are required only to further limit access to guns and the opportunities for their lawful use by law abiding citizens; they have nothing to do with the incident in question beyond such incident serving as another opportunity to proceed toward the complete disarming of the people.     I am undecided in the Presidential race, and most educated people are the same. Lets see what Joe Biden is up to. You want an adult in the room as you always say? You would have him. A guy that would destroy Don Trump on any issue of substance you would like to choose. But really no need to worry Walt- Bernie Sanders will never, and can never, turn America into a socialist country. I definitely like many of Bernie’s ideas, as do most Americans when you itemize each one. Its all about where you want to be on the continuum of political governance. He is but a mere Marxist, a devote follower of the left’s religion of peace. There is a difference. A Marxist spouts Utopian words advocating a new and improved society. A Commie brings that vision to fruition in the fullness of time. Pinkos love guns, a Marixist avoids the issue if possible. Of course we are talking about guns in their hands, not yours.
    Not all commie socialist bastards use guns. They do like building wall and fences to keep people in, never to keep people out. Not like a grave yard where people are dying to get in, but just the opposite.
    A small antedotal example would be a co-worker back in the day. He was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, well before Club Gitmo. He was a mere guard, not a person of fame or fortune or renown. One day a young pregnant Cuban woman raced towards the fence with her family. Desperately, they tried to scale the fence fleeing for their lives trying to reach American soil, yelling to my former co-worker for help. He just stood there at the fence as the Cuban soldiers came up and slit their throats, all of them, and “Charles” stood there helpless and had to watch the whole episode inches from his face, under orders to do nothing about “the other side” of the fence. He had to stand there and watch the throats of people fleeing to freedom being slit, his rifle at his side. I suppose the silver lining of this tale is at least the Cuban soldiers did not use guns.
    The point is, Walt, a Marxist writes theories. Commie bastards put it into practice.

    The thing I find most interesting is that the left does understand the human condition in many ways and exploits that understanding to the max. At the same time, they espouse a political bent that is completely ignorant of how humans change and react to outside forces. Witness the fool that thought he would be all in for ‘social justice’ and give everyone in his company 70K a year. The 2 top hires walked out the door for (we conservatives) obvious and foreseeable reasons. The left seems to be able to sense and work the baser instincts of humans, while not able to fathom the higher and finer workings of the intelligent and hard working risk-takers. Since there are far more proles than entrepreneurs, the left has a rich feeding ground, while conservatives must cast a much wider net and toil harder at providing grounds for popular appeal.

    Walt @ 2109: Must have been a lib love fest going on at Hell’s Half Acre. Maybe their typical practice of lighting candles and fires and burning poetry as a sacrifice to The Universe seeking forgiveness for making Mother Earth weep by harming her dolphins (who already forgave us because they are are advanced mammals). Problem is the dirt worshippers always pick the middle of Summer to light their ceremonial bonfires.
    Yep, turn on the firelight with its earthtone yellows and amber hues and you won’t believe how many bugs come to the light. Unfortunately, it brings out our firebugs and then our firefighters as well.
    At least their intentions were swell. Another silver lining.

    Had the scanner on last night, and someone had reported witnessing someone running from where a fire had just started.( near Ridge Rd. and R&R highway) Gave a description and the sheriff nabbed someone matching said description, then had the witness identify the perp.
    I haven’t checked the sheriff’s log. Maybe there is a little more info there.
    I have to assume people driving by stopped and put out the fire.
    You can only get so much info from radio traffic.
    I hear plenty of wild things on the radio that never hits the paper.
    Right now there are a few fires burning I really can’t figure out just where they are.
