[Perusing this morning's papers I see that the TPP negotiations have blown a tire. Polls show that 70% of Americans believe Hillary is untrustworthy and a consummate liar. Team Obama is demanding that Congress abandon even the Pelosi Principle in accepting the Iran deal with unknown and unknowable secret codicils. And, of course, as data from the states rolls in, Obamacare is living up to and beyond its worst prognostications. But for a bit of levity or very deep conspiracy, I point you to Joe Queenan in the 1aug15 WSJ who writes 'Clearly, the Donald Works for Hillary'. gjr]

Regarding the timing of when Hillary’s emails became classified. As SecState the woman had the authority to classify any materials she considered sensitive. And in that job she was supposed to possess the knowledge, reasoning powers, and the ability to decide what she wrote was or was not classified. Apparently she failed on all counts, and no one is yet astute enough to point that out. BTW, I as an Army intelligence officer had that same authority and the duty to correctly apply it. And when I was a government defense contractor, it was again my job to discern what information I and my company generated that would be classified, I had the concomitant authority and duty to classify such materials even before they left the company and treat them as such while they remained in my possession.
That sleazebag did none of that, and now claims that she didn’t know what she was doing at the time. How far is that going to fly with the lamestream is anybody’s guess, but it is guaranteed to work within Obama’s administration which will do everything possible to hold her blameless for the release and compromise of classified materials.

Walt, Hillary’s best hope right now is the Omaba Justice Deptment. They will stonewall all requests for an investigation until Nov, 2016 per Obama’s directives. Always remember Obama and Hill cut the deal and this is the most politicized Justice Department since Richard Milhouse Nixon by all accounts, be it left , right, independent or living Presidential historians.
Hillary bonks her melon after Ambassador Stevens was burned alive and dragged through the streets and Obama will cover her assets….for as long as he is able to keep a lid on it. Just like Lois Lerner and the “not a smidgen of corruption at the IRS”. Heck, you yourself saw how angry not one but two Federal judges got at the White House/Clinton lawyers very recently. Stonewall, stonewall, stonewall. Who knows, maybe the heat will become too much for Obama’s legacy and he will have Valerie Jarred leak some more dirt on Hillary to the NYT or select media outlets and, of course, invite The Paleface Squawking Squaw back into the White House again for more meet and greet. Never know. We know Valerie hates Clinton and Obama thinks Lizzy will be more trustworthy to bring about his change of America as we know it to fruition. Heck, I am more trustworthy that Hill (as her adorning fans and other paid staff call her).

George 2:05 — What is Meckler’s “40 year Plan” if not an attempt to impose tea bagger values on the rest of us. You should compare TP values with those of the rest of Americans and I think you will find that TP values are held by a pretty small segment of society. The tea party seems to be on the opposite side of many issues like climate, austerity, foreign invasions, wealth distribution, gov’t regulations particularly with regard to consumer issues/pollution/, the safety of fracking with regard to polluting groundwater.. the list goes on. And then ask yourself where the 40 year plan originated in the first place and you might find billionaire funded think tanks behind the curtain.

JoeK 1035am – Meckler’s ’40 year plan’ and a comparison of TP values with dissimilar values are orthogonal. I have not seen any TP plan that is “an attempt to impose tea bagger values on the rest of us.” If you know of one, then present it.
And yes, the values embraced by the TP are distinct from the values of those who promote all things collectivist. That is a tautology. Your view of who and how many belong to the several camps of value holders is up for debate.
The Tea Partiers sincerely hope that you are wrong; they believe that most of us don’t want a bigger more autocratic government, fewer individual liberties, abandoning constitutionality (including how the Constitution should be modified), hindrances to entrepreneurship, and the confiscation of the fruits of our labors.

‘Arab states cautiously embrace Iran deal’ Clever people those Arabs. They know in the marrow of their bones that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and will use them to establish itself as the mid-east hegemon. That does not portend well for Arabs or the lesser states since Iran is a dictatorship that will only become more so as their nuclear programs progress. The only way to hold back the Persians is for Arabs also to get the bomb.
Right now it is politically cumbersome for them to start individual or joint nuclear development/acquisition programs. But they know for certain that Iran will detectably violate the present agreement. And the declaration of such violation (and likely abrogation of the agreement) will serve as the justifiable demarcation point for Arab countries going nuclear that will be politically acceptable across the globe. What Israel will then do is anyone’s guess. But vindicating the launch of Arabian nuclear defenses is worth the perfidy of their adulterous embrace of the necessary and sufficient legitimizing agreement.

0’s DOJ is poised to intervene in a civil case that awarded terror victims of the PLO hundreds of millions with the terror law that trebling the judgement to over a billion. The DOJ gave the court notice that it will be making a filing. What is unclear is how they are going to help the PLO without evoking the sovereign nation status for the Palestinian authority who is not now a recognized country. Does 0 feel so empowered now that he can recognize the terrorists as a real country with a back door maneuver? Just kidding, of course he does. Can we survive another 17 months of this?

Just saw an announcement on bloombergtv that the fed is going to sell 121B USD in debt this sale not the 61B USD forecast 3 months ago. Now what is interesting is the reason they are citing as the driver behind this sudden expansions of debt sales. They claim they want to have a greater cash on hand balance if something odd happens like a cyber attack that would not let them sell debt?!??! This sure sounds like somebody is worried about something or its just a covering lie for something worse. With the 0 crew its hard to tell.

Joe K’s delightful 10:35 am seems to imply that Tea Party Values are as Queen Nancy put it so well….AstroTurf. Not the real deal, just a front for them billionaires pulling the muppet puppet strings.
Austerity? Well, that is a dirty word in Greece, Italy, and France for certain. They can’t print money nor should they ever be allowed to. All good things must come to an end.
Outside of the confines of the purple independent voters of Nevada County and the states that border large bodies of salt water, this is still right of center country in the aggregate. Opps, exclude Texas and Alaska and a few others on the list of states that abut large bodies of salt water.
When talking about values, it is not easy to see the big picture when everyone you know thinks the same way as you do upon a very tiny tiny speck of dirt on Planet Earth. For example, if I were a homosexual male wearing air conditioned riding chaps living in the Castro Disrict, I would tend to believe that everyone shared my beliefs and values. Heck, all my neighbors do! Not a very good reference point to make broad generalizations about the rest of America or the American citizenry,
Many outside a tiny tiny minority of those Tea Party Wackos feel that government should be smaller and pay its bills and start trimming the fat. Not all voters by any means. Paul Krugman, the Nobel Prize Economist would strongly disagree with me. Yet, Queen Nancy after her first term of being the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives said unequivocally that her proudest accomplishment for that session of Congress was the passage of Pay Go. Maybe the whole concept of Pay Go is now most unpopular and only shared by a “small minority of people’ nowadays, Mr. K. Looking back, I see why Nancy was so proud of her accomplishment. It has so many loopholes and exclusions that it is as about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
AstroTurf or striking a chord with more than a handful.?? Apparently, you have already decided. What I cannot figure out, Mr. K, is if conservatives are on the wrong side of the issues, why have they recently regained the U.S. Senate and widened their majority control of the U.S. House of Representatives?
Is it because Obama is about 7% African-American or it is because billionaires like David Koch really run the show. Or maybe, just maybe, more than a tiny fraction of the voters share some of those ridiculous Tea Bagger values. I am soooo confused, Mr. Koyote. Help me out here.

Speaking of the TPP both Obama and the Republicans support the use of corporate tribunals that will trump our national sovereignty. Here are examples from Jim Hightower.

Well, Paul, if it is any consolation, it pisses me off as well. Call me an isolationist on this one, but screw them other countries if they start cramming their crap down our throats, albeit it is a complicated issue with many, many moving parts. Who knows, maybe I can get myself some shark fin soup one of the days in the not too distant future. Yep, enough to piss off the Pope.
I was pissed off after NAFTA when Mexican truck drivers were allowed in to drive freely across our amber waves of grain in unsafe rigs and without class 1 licenses. Politics makes strange bedfellows as I sided with the Head Bustin’ Teamsters on that one.
Guess it all depends on whose ox is being gored. I do empathize with your “don’t tread on me” mantra, always have. Next time younger Emery goes off on how we violated some World Court ruling, I will send him your way. Lord knows if that will do any good,
I liked the TV show Flipper growing up so I might be a wee bit prejudice on this one.
