   Todd, that should come as no surprise. Blame America First mantra again. If a worker lost his job and committed suicide, Brother Ben would say the company management or CEO should be tried for murder. No surprise here. I don’t take him seriously, but do like reading his moral equivalency stuff as he conveniently overlooks the violent sucking out the brainsof the innocent unborn children.
   The problem with Ben’s reasoning is you would have to completely overlook the entire history of Islam since day one. Even this silly discussion on some liberal blogs trying to find out if burning a man alive is allowed in the Quaran says it all. That be Islam. It’s written in there somewhere, right? If not, the essence of barbarism is, lol. That makes it all OK. Now, let’s all get along and blame America on the count of three.

   I agree with the statistics manipulation linked by the man in the candy cane bonnet @21:35. A bigger problem is finding employable workers who actually want to work, show up on time, aren’t covered in tattoos, don’t dress like hoods, speak proper English, and have a clean driving and arrest record. At least between Fresno and Red Bluff this is an almost impossible talent pool to draw from. Those who fit the bill have jobs.

   Whatever happened to Greece and vaccinations? Boy, Christie and others stepped in it just a few days ago for being pro/con getting the shots and the storm clouds were forming be a real campaign issue. Just like Greece, gone with the wind. How fickle we are. I bet the elections get down to some earth shaking issue like paper or plastic, shave or grow.
   Measles is just a code word for being anti-brown skinned immigrant, FYI.

    I am heartened to see that thinking conservatives realize the ACLU is a non-partisan organiztion that will defend ANYBODY’S rights – even angry old white guys! And yes, they have defended the NRA and children’s rights to hold afterschool prayer sessions. We welcome people of every political stripe to join us in our effort to protect civil liberties.
    I was also pleasantly surprised to hear the nice comments about me posted by Bill Tozer and Barry Pruett. It’s nice to know that we can agree to disagree on issues without it becoming an opportunity for character assassination.
    As to Bessee’s worries that we will file needless lawsuits, all I can say is that people in glass houses…

    Also regarding the ACLU it is wise to remember that they representative Oliver North and succeeded in overturning his convictions in the Iran Contra fiasco.
    ” WASHINGTON, July 20— Oliver L. North and two others indicted for their roles in the Iran-contra affair today gained an ally in their efforts to overturn the indictment: the American Civil Liberties Union.
    In a legal brief filed in a Federal appeals court here, the liberties union said the conspiracy indictment against the defendants must be dismissed on grounds that their testimony before Congress was being used against them in violation of the Constitution. The three testified under grants of limited immunity from prosecution.
    ”It is impossible not to conclude that defendants’ testimony has been or will be used against them in violation of their Fifth Amendment rights” against self-incrimination, the organization said in the brief, which stated: ”The only appropriate remedy in this case is immediate dismissal of the indictment.”

    Todd, get a sense of humor! I was referring to comments made by other posters on this blog who described themselves as angry white men. The ACLU doesn’t care if you are old, young, happy or sad, male or female – they will represent ANYONE who’s rights have been violated.
    PS I was called plenty of names during the course of the Measure S campaign – and a lot of it came from so called liberals. It doesn’t bother me because anyone that has to stoop to name-calling has already lost the argument. I still think Bill and Barry showed real class to say nice things about someone with whom they have fundamental differences of opinions. Rare these days.

    Oh Todd, your wit is quite clever and funny lately, as is Patty Smith’s as well. You both have some good comebacks. See, you have something in common. It takes someone with the ability to recognize genius (like Moi) to appreciate both of you.. Neither one of you are misunderstood by those of us who appreciate such creativity.
    It may be out of the ACLU’s realm of expertise and might be pushing the civil liberties’ envelop, but is there anyway to get tuna casserole banned as cruel and unusual punishment? Not as a public health issue or some right to inflict harm upon oneself, but solely because tuna casseroles are just plain wrong.

    Oh Mr. Walt, don’t believe everything you read. Obama said The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act would be comprehensive and affordable, the lynchpins of the whole shebang. I believe him. Yeah, right.
    But not to worry those of you who will be taxed on the full value of the subsidy as income. Obama has directed the IRS not to collect the subsidy tax this year by taking it out of the Unearned Income Credit to avoid the outcry. Must be some type of voluntary contribution, lol. Still, some are in for a fairly unpleasant large lump of coal.. Sticker shock and buyers’ remorse. Too late. The Supremes said it is a tax so read them and weep. Maybe we can go to the White House and pull Obama’s finger.
    BTW Mr. Walt, we are on the old sandbox, not the current one. Actually, I have more BTWs. BTW, that American female hostage held by ISIS has been dead for weeks. ISIS said Jordian airstrikes killed her. Hey, would a Muslim lie to his enemies? We know one of the Japanese hostages was killed and his death captured on video weeks before they even said they were holding him and wanted a couple hundred million Yankee Dollars. No female could survive what they did to her. Heck, no one could survive the way Islam tells them to treat infidel captives, male or female, strong or weak.
