HeidiHallMs Heidi Hall is our community’s new progressive political wannabe.  She is also a newly assigned columnist for The Union and a KVMR commentator.   She is a well-spoken, handsome looking woman with plenty of education in fields that have ‘government job’ written all over them, and true to form that is her employment record (curriculum vitae here).

I have now read two of her columns, and frankly find them low grade ore.  In today’s (27jan15) Union she writes a piece that contains absolutely nothing but a rearranged list of staid leftwing talking points wrapped around the occasion of Obama’s SOTU.  Somewhat surprisingly, she found the speech an inspirational litany of just what the country needs, and would benefit from if only the obstructionist Republican Congress would come to its senses and abandon its “failing economic ideologies and work with the president to help the middle class.”  Yes, the lady did wordsmith it to echo the president’s talking points.

Her socialist economics are fairly simple in their statement, and, of course, not sustainable in practice (today Greece, Spain, and France come to mind).  Her “Economics 101 truism” is to somehow get money into the pockets of the middle class in one way or another, and then we’ll be off and running.  Actually, being a progressive, her knowledge of how to do that is pretty skimpy, but it’s worthy to point out her approach.

“The question is how to get more money to people like you and me, and who makes that happen.  Ideally, we earn it.  We are paid the true value of our labor.  Since this is no longer happening, we need government to act.”

Got that?  In her world the ‘true value of labor’ is not something that is known to the worker or the employer when they make their agreement to work together.  But not to worry, it is known to the government, which then needs “to act”, to enforce by the gun what it mandates from on high as the true value of labor.  Seriously, from this and her other established talking points, we see the socialist world that Ms Hall has to offer.  While more cleverly packaged, it is no better than what Gus Hall (no presumed relationship) prescribed for us fifty years ago.

With what she today promised for her future columns, there is little or nothing new that we can expect from her output in the coming editions of our local newspaper.  Any one of our RR readers could easily draft such partisan pabula.  As our new prominent voice of the Left, she should be capable of much more that we hope to see sooner than later.  (Hint: As an example, contend the January 2015 CBO analysis of Obamacare that shows the socialist health care program will be nothing like advertized in reducing deficits, lowering costs, and providing health insurance to more people.)

[28jan15 update]  Tonight we attended the NC Tea Party meeting where the program was an excellent presentation on Agenda21 by Ms Debbie Bacigalupi (announced here).  She presented a comprehensive review of the UN’s plan for achieving a “sustainable” world through “smart growth” that would actually shrink the planet’s human population from its current almost 7 billion to about 1 billion.  The means for this would be developed by the new global governance that will come into being through the co-operation of the UN member states.

RR has long covered Agenda21 to the jeers of some extremely ignorant local leftwingers who divide into two groups.  The first denying the existence of the UN plan, and the second denying that any of it is being implemented here in America.  Ms Bacigalupi’s presentation on the published volumes, resolutions, conferences, congressional sessions (including a wonderful C-SPAN video of a much younger Pelosi proposing House acceptance of the Agenda21 resolution under the Bush1 presidency), documents, formations of worldwide ICLEIs (q.v.), on and on down to our local government resolutions adopting Agenda21 objectives.

She also quoted chapter and verse on how and why the Agenda21 worldwide initiative should and would be kept from the public view.  The existence of grass roots leftwing useful idiots in vocal denial of all this demonstrates the success of this subterfuge.  RR readers have been kept apprised of these developments in posts found in the Agenda21 category accessed from the right column.

Why I’m posting this little update here is that in attendance tonight was Ms Heidi Hall, sitting in the back busily taking notes on her pad.  I was heartened by her attendance and eagerly look forward to her report on the proceedings and information presented on Agenda21.  When/if she does post a column or radio commentary on this, we will again see how the leftwing interprets for us the global initiative that is a basis for the promised fundamental transformation of America.

Todd, one can be a success and still be stupid.. Just look at George II. Success is more often a tribute to fortitude than intelligence. You’ve been successful haven’t you?

JoeK, are you saying you are stupid? It would appear you are unable to be be truthful about your true name. Why is that? I consider myself a simple American fellow. Nothing special. But I have had a great life and met a lot of great people. I have also met a lot of stinkers. Are you a stinker JoeK?

The whole issue of what dollar amount is a ‘fair wage’ centers on who you think should determine what is ‘fair’.
Being a free market guy, I think it should be totally up to the person hiring and the person being hired.
I realize there are a lot of folks such as HH that believe the dollar value should be found by first determining how much it will cost a person to enjoy a ‘living wage’. Whatever that is!
If I am buying something – another person’s time or a cuckoo clock – I should be the one to determine the value to me of my potential purchase. If my dollar value doesn’t match that of the seller’s, we go our separate ways. I would be interested in others’ views as to why a citizen of the US shouldn’t have this freedom.

So your a King George kind of guy. ( Got it)
It’s better to fight the enemy in THEIR streets than ours. ( money well spent)
It take two sides to end a war. The Ragheads still are out to kill us. Just because “O” claimed “the war is over” sure didn’t make it so. Since the mighty “O” took office, the Middle East is SO much better…. Uh,,, right?
Bush should have been allowed to finish the job. But thanks to Lilly livered LIBS who whined, he didn’t. The enemy is now bigger and stronger.. Great going.

Unconstitutional.. LOL!! Forget Bush got approval from Congress? ( Step back and away from the bong.) That’s something “O” has NEVER done. Yet he has set fire to the Middle East.
Where was his “justification” for helping kill Qaddafi? How bout all the “not war” that’s been going on? From drone strikes to air campaigns.. Nope,, no war there…
But HAY… Trade traitors for terrorists. Don’t go after those that attack us. (Benghazi)
And then hide the evidence, and stonewall the investigation.
Since you feel we should still be ruled by the Crown of England why not return to Queen and Country? There is always Canada. They still revere the old country.
So what’s your excuse for staying where you hate? And don’t say “the beauty of Nevada City”) That’s a copout.

How stupid of me to not ‘get it’ that the war is over and the taliban are not terrorists because 0 says so. But wait, wasn’t that the Afgan Prez a week ago begging us to leave more troops to protect them from the islamic terrorists named the taliban? PaulE 146pm – Paul, you’re fast becoming a one tune band. We all know you have a hair up your butt about Bush2 getting us into Iraq again. And since you do bring this up under all guises stretches credibility. Here we are talking about the ideology of Heidi Hall, and you raise this tired theme like some old record stuck in a groove. It would be good if in some remote way you attempted to attach Bush2 and Iraq to HH. Right now you are sounding like a creaky echo of Obama taking every opportunity to blame Bush2 on every blemish that coats his administration. I think you can do better than that.
PS. You missed my point on the use of anecdotal evidence to support arguments and my not ‘allowing’ that. Nowhere in these pages will you find that fabrication. My teaching is that anecdotal supports in a debate about public policy is extremely weak, especially when the stronger synoptic argument can be made. People advancing anecdotal arguments are telegraphing that they have no real basis for their position, and hope that the listener is sufficiently dumb not to pick up on that.

It the same old story with Paul. This time he is trying to protect “his gal”, by changing the subject. Every time Liberalism is the hot topic he pops off with “blame Bush”.
Firth and Hall are cut from the same cloth. ” we deserve to be elected and impose our
“not from here” ideals. Take a good look at Nevada City and see just how great they worked.
Prospective businesses take one look see and keep on truck’n. The stench of dope permeates
the place. Yup Berkeley of the foothills. Now the same clan wants to do the same to GV.
They have already got a good start. Hell.I even stay out of town at all costs.
When I can go down the hill on 20, do my shopping “down there”, and come home with 3 times as much for the same wad of cash, why bother? Hell I can’t even get a Dr. in this town to take the (ha) insurance I have.
Whenever there is a good sized construction job in GV, it’s done by some carpetbagger outfit from the valley.
LIBS have cased the jobs that made this town,, out of town.
Good fiscal management? 50 grand for a rusty pile of junk in that Europium roundabout.
Hell. Most of that crap isn’t even mining related. Try broken tractor parts, with a token ore car wheel thrown in. The money would have been better spent repairing sidewalks and retaining walls.
Has the “talent scouts” even tried to get a new car dealership to return?
Why not? If the electric car is so hot, and the “vocal locals” just love to sing their praises, how come they are not selling them here? Bring on the new eco buggies. The old Ford (empty) lot still has a fur sail sign.
So come on Progressives, get with the program. Or are you waiting for some Capitalist to do it? ( then bitch about his “big money”.)

I am most heartened as well that Ms. Hall attended tonight’s presentation. Speaks well of her. Perhaps she learned a thing or two. CSPAN clips are hard to dispute as well as good documentation. Maybe she wanted to see what the purple folks were saying and perhaps she needed a break from the hard left extremist political shriekers on the farthest hardest leftest fringes. Or perhaps she was just trying to fit in like Bubba does on occasion.

RussS 852pm – I was disappointed not to see a single elected person from Nevada County attend this presentation. A21 is like a slowly spreading cancer, very hard to detect its day to day progress. Its method of dispersal has been fashioned in a way that A21 never has to march under its own banner, since then it would be rejected immediately by even America’s most thick skulled. From their actions, it appears that our BoS really doesn’t have a clue on how the pieces fit together.

The whole anthropogenic global warming hoax can be traced back to Agenda 21. Here is Section 9.8.(d) of Agenda 21:
    Cooperate in research to develop methodologies and identify threshold levels of atmospheric pollutants, as well as atmospheric levels of greenhouse gas concentrations, that would cause dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system and the environment as a whole, and the associated rates of change that would not allow ecosystems to adapt naturally;
It is the Sierra Business Council, with funding from PG&E under threat from CARB, that is conducting an inventory of greenhouse gases in Nevada County. This inventory is to “identify threshold levels of atmospheric pollutants”. Once the base line level is measured there will be a demand by CARB that the level of CO2 be reduced. Local government has approved these SBC greenhouse gas inventories without making a connection to Agenda 21. Why? Intentional ignorance? Or, just plain too lazy to worry ignorance. We all want to know.

According to a presentation to the BoS they are using a model developed by the ICLEI mother ship. Stuff the model with garbage data by SBC clerks, and out comes a print out that is never questioned by the BoS. After all the computer did it. We are dealing in junk science and the BoS and City Council just accepts the results without challenge. They have no idea what algorithmic computation are being made by the model, or what garbage is being feed into the beast.
Maybe a Freedom of Information Request is in order, requesting a copy of the model. I bet we will be told it is protected and cannot be revealed. So, they will be making policy decisions based on an Agenda 21 secret sauce.

California is a broke state spending, with unfunded liabilities continuing to grow.
