The left never mentions that the Koch Brothers are major supporter of National Public Television’s NOVA program. Some of those programs are straight up good science and some are outright promotion of AGW. How come the Koch Brothers do not get credit for supporting the lefties AGW crap science? Oh! It does not fit the hate conservatives model.

I bet most Americans don’t even know who the Koch Bros are. Harry Reid going to the Senate floor week after week, year after year slamming the Evil Twins. The DNC has vowed to make them a major campaign issue in 2016. Well, it worked so well in 2014, I hope they keep on doing what they have been doing. Koch Bros and free birth control will be a winning combo.
I read a great article about 0bama dissing the Australian PM on his recent Asia Tour. More than dissing, 0bama went out of his way to put him down. There was a line in there that made total sense from the writer who knows 0bama and the inner circle fairly well. He said 0bama can disagree with one’s politics, but he will exact revenge on one who disagrees with his ideology. Not politics, but ideology is what all made sense to me.
To the progressive liberal Marxists Socialists Greenies from the White House to the insignificant Little big man’s blog, we are hated not for our politics, but because we disagree with their ideology. The Koch Bros. disagree with the entire leftist’s ideology. They must be silenced, slammed, slain, screwed, blued and tattooed before hind and quarters and having their entails thrown to the buzzards. They disagree with the elitists ideology.LikeLike

BillR 229pm – You are correct Mr Tozer, but such excellent comments should always include the codicil pointing out that the Left will NEVER spell out the individual tenets of their ideology. Were they to do that, their game would be over (perhaps even with gruberized Americans). No, all they dare talk about is anecdotal episodes of distress – you know, amputee black single mom hungry in a gang-ridden tenement with five children. Now that lady deserves all the social programs you can roll into a large ball; who would ever publicly deny her anything. And, of course, the message is that in America such people abound in all towns great and small.

This is what happens when the Government messes with the trolly market. One of the items buried in the infamous “stimulus” of 2009 was funding for an American streetcar manufacturing effort, to be built in Portland, Oregon. But it has turned into a total bust, as the Washington Post reported yesterday:
Early in President Obama’s first term, transportation secretary Ray LaHood traveled to Portland, Ore., stood before American workers in red, white and blue hard hats and made a pitch for their gleaming back-to-the-future product.
“These are the first streetcars to be manufactured in America in nearly 60 years,” LaHood told the cheering crowd in 2009. “This is the dawn of a new era for public transportation in the United States, a new opportunity to claim ‘Made in America.’ That is a great thing to be able to say!” . . .
Company executives and their patrons greatly overestimated the size of the market they could capture and underestimated the difficulty of starting a homegrown streetcar business from scratch. Executives hoped to sell 10 or 15 of the 8-by-66-foot vehicles each year and create hundreds of new jobs as communities embraced a national streetcar revival. The company’s president at the time, Chandra Brown, set her gaze further. “One day, we can’t wait to be exporting these cars,” she said during another LaHood visit in 2011.
Instead, the company built just 18 streetcars for three customers — the District, Tucson and Portland — and was late delivering them to all three cities. There are no new orders, and the facility built to produce up to 24 streetcars a year is dormant after the last Portland car was shipped out Nov. 21. Some workers have been laid off, others have been reassigned to United Streetcar’s parent company, Oregon Iron Works, which builds bridges and boats.
“We made a significant investment being in the streetcar business, and unfortunately there hasn’t been a marketplace that would justify that investment were we looking at it with the clarity of today,” said Oregon Iron Works
President Corey Yraguen.
Note in DC, the government threw out all the foreign bids to insure that Portland got the bid, and the trolly company still could not survive. In San Diego, the Sierra Club, the Cleveland National Forest Foundation and the Center for Biological Diversity are asserting that San Diego County is not doing enough to curtail greenhouse gasses, and are trying to force them to buy streetcars rather than build any more freeways.LikeLike

A street car named No Desire. Darn, Russ, it looked so good on paper. If only the masses would get on board, everything would be fine. I am still waiting for the Grass Valley to Colfax electric Choo-Choo. Perhaps the Sierra Clubbers should make the masses an offer they can’t refuse. Just like Moonbeam is doing with the train to nowhere.

How come encouraging voter fraud isn’t a crime?
Hell! down in Sac. they kept “finding” ballots till Doug Ose lost. Funny how that works.LikeLike

Obama By the Numbers: The national debt now exceeds $18 trillion, a little more than the GDP of the United States.
When Barack Obama took office, the national debt stood at $10.625 trillion. Which means that the debt has increased by 70% during his abysmally incompetent administration. Put another way, 41% of the national debt of the United States, from George Washington to the present, has accrued during the Obama administration. And we have two years yet to go.
Can we afford two more years?LikeLike
-
But, Russ – the Dems and Obama love to talk about how the rate of increase of the deficit is plunging. For one year, anyway. Once we ‘legalize’ millions of illegals and get them on subsidized Obamacare, and the record amount of money pouring into the treasury from capital gains from an inflated stock market slows, things will change. The fed govt is trapped in a corner. If interest rates are allowed to normalize, the cost of servicing the national debt will crush us. If we continue to manipulate the interest rate, we will see assets being shunted into non-productive higher risk investments. Funny money chasing it’s own tail, if you will. The populists and the left want to have the govt force an end to that and ‘make’ companies spend their cash in hiring and higher wages. On top of that, we have a basic lesson in econ 1 going on. Despite the govts efforts, and defying the ‘settled science’ of the experts, we have a glut of oil supplies. Funny – I could have sworn we were supposed to have run out of oil by now. Supply and demand is a law of nature and physics we must all obey, no matter what dictat comes down from on high. Oil futures and long term contracts weren’t drawn up with the current and possibly future price of dino juice in mind. Stuff happens, doesn’t it?

re RussS and ScottO recents – The hubris of the Left holds that when their elites reach some critical level of consensus, then it is nature that must take the back seat – their unshakable belief is in the tenet, ‘When the collective speaks, the cosmos must listen!’ For them civilization can only march forward under the banner ‘Central Planners Über Alles!’

Central planning certainly is good for the planners. How much did Gruber sucker us for? And he won’t suffer any downside later. Did anyone spot a central planner on the streets of Ferguson during the recent ‘peaceful’ looting and arson episode? Not a chance – they are all safely tucked away in their guarded mansions.

Mr. Obermuller. Two good comments in a row.
Concerning Missouri, the community organizers were in the streets alright. But what is not being reported is they were chanting “Pants up, don’t loot.”
Concerning the artificial low interest rates per The Fed’s policies, it has indeed helped many corporations. They been gobbling up smaller companies and competitors rather than focus on organic growth (i.e. creating jobs and buying more stuff from the business to business manufactures.). With rates this low, good time to buy back shares on borrowed money as well. I have cut the Fed some slack solely because our economy needs a fix and the Senate has blocked all the tried and trued fixes per Harry Barry. Without the political will from our elected officials there is no Fiscal solutions/policy, so it’s up to the banks to do the momentary policy thang.
Oil does not surprise me. What I find bold is that Saudi Arabia is rolling the dice and will let the oil prices fall below 66 bucks/barrel per their last OPEC announcement. Drill baby drill in hopes of crushing the American fracking industry and bringing our shale oil extractors to their knees and bankruptcy. Good time to fill those old gas cans in the garage or go for a Sunday drive.
Lastly, per Mr. Steele’s comments, our debt has breached the 18 trillion mark. Central planners are popping the corks for this milestone. To put it in perspective, all the prior Presidents and all the King’s men have accounted for 30% of the 18 trillion debt. The last 5 years, one man, one solitary President has accounted for 70% of the entire National Debt in just a mere 5 years. Now that is what I call fundamentally transforming America as we know it.LikeLike
-
Playing with numbers again. Meant to say that our National Debt has INCREASED 70% under the watchful eye on one solitary man. Is he still voting present?

Don’t worry about the debt – it turns out we’re all going to die.
“Even with a deal to stop the current rate of greenhouse gas emissions, scientists warn, the world will become increasingly unpleasant. Without a deal, they say, the world could eventually become uninhabitable for humans.”
Those aren’t scientists – they’re clowns. Read more here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/01/world/climate-talks.html?_r=0
The funny part is that the left is always saying that the conservatives have nothing to offer but fear.
For those too young to remember or just too stoned – we were all supposed to be dead years ago from pollution, starvation, lack of raw materials…..on and on and on. The same clowns that got it wrong then are still trying, God bless ’em. Keep in mind that it’s all settled science.LikeLike

RLCrabb 543am – I have yet to see the movie, but the only TOE in contention today is string or brane theory. And unfortunately it blew a tire years ago when it became apparent that the TOE contender turned out to be only a set of elegant mathematics without a scientific component. It could not prescribe a single falsifiable experiment, and has yet to do so (e.g. relativity and quantum mechanics have generated and successfully passed scores of such experiments). But damn, all those equations really do look good!
RussS 916am – Keep such occurrences in mind as RR starts a new ‘Who Will Run?’ feature next year using the delightfully informative tool we inherit from the dear departed Rev Thomas Bayes. The feature will invite all RR readers to contribute as their mood motivates. (Nate Silver, eat your heart out.)LikeLike

They say the most dangerous thing in Ireland is the bumblebee since St Paddy drove the snakes from the Emerald Isle. I disagree. Most dangerous thing in Ireland is a drunken Irishman and more so the lassies. Well, at least we know the thieves won’t be taking over the world anytime soon, neither will their countrymen. The future President of the United States? Hillery Clinton?
“The science of climate change is unforgiving, no matter what the deniers may say, sea levels are rising, ice caps are melting, storms, droughts and wildfires are wreaking havoc,” Clinton said, according to ABC News.
Yea, well the sea levels are not rising any faster than they have since 1850 when the little ice age came to an end, the ice caps are not melting, as we have more ice now than in the last ten years, storms are not more powerful, we just had a historically quiet tornado season, droughts happen on a regular schedule as the PDO shift from warm to cool, and there are fewer wildfires today than in the 1930 and 1940s. Hillery is scientifically illerate!LikeLike

My suspicion is George is trying to figure out a way to spin this authoritarian, oppressive, anti liberty, anti freedom, and anti American values report as being OK. That Bush/ Cheney haven’t violated the US Constitution (again) and International Law that we are signatories of. I have been making the same claim of the Obama administration since 2010 with his Drone Warfare Program that are acts of war against sovereign nations without a declaration of war, denying people due process, spying on Americans, and killing US Citizens violating their Constitutional Rights. The big difference between Bush and Obama administrations are Obama is continuing the Bush administration policies while Bush administration ignored Clinton administration policies on terrorism , which resulted in the terrorist acts of 19 men(15 of them Saudi) on 9/11/01.
Here is what I shared on FB this morning.
Bush and Cheney are war criminals, period. The US does Torture people and Bush is lying to the American people here just like his entire administration lied to the American people to get support to preemptively invade Iraq. He along with all the other top officials in his administration belong in the Hague for the remainder of their lives.
Millions of people have lost their lives, been injured, displaced, and lives have been ruined by these lies and actions.
Unfortunately the Obama administration has continued many of these illegal and immoral policies.

Drones are cute and no Americans get hurt. They are quiet and adorable and relatively inexpensive. Their only drawback is the don’t film in living color…yet. Live action and live music is best, go maybe we should equip them with some sort of Lazerium synchronized music box that picks up the vibrations of direct hits while we enjoy the show on our little I-pads and I-phones. Sure to be a hit and maybe throw in some live close up shots on camera 2 upon impact. We have the technology so why waste it. Let the people get their money’s worth as they see when their money is going, and going to good use I might add. The perfect hi res picture with good quality sound to enjoy another patch of real buttery popcorn over or perhaps while sipping a splendid latte. Them drones are little darlings and so heart warming too boot. I feel like they are almost human.
