[Not inviting its continuance here, but I also call your attention to the rather voluminous, detailed, and ongoing Measure S debate between Ms Patricia Smith and Mr Don Bessee at 'Measure S, As It Is'. On that issue the dust has yet to settle. gjr]

I understand your point George…but as I’ve described it to Michael Anderson on a couple of occasions, an exchange with jeffy is like working the heavy bag, not intellectually stimulating but it does wonders for ones blood pressure.LikeLike

George,
I came over here to tell George Boardman, one of your esteemed readers, that he was wrong on this post. Then you misread it as being you and made a snide retort. My politics are liberal to you, but I have an Art Moore for Congress sign in the yard up at Tahoe. Art is a Republican. Nobody really wants to comment on this blog; they just feel inclined because of all the lies and half-truths that get published here.
George,
You wrote “YubaNet limped into this story Tuesday …”
YubaNet wrote a story on Monday, not Tuesday.

I think you hit the nail on the head George. He is lonely. He and his few commenters (mostly him as a sock puppet) want to be read more so they have to come here where all the action is. Heck, I think my Lizard blog gets more hits and I don’t even care!
Anyway, Russ listed the SF Values and Pelline has not picked which one’s he says reflects our Giants so it must simply be some personal problem with him. I have always been a Giants fan and I even got to see Willie Mays play in 1962. My Boy Scout Troop #22 traveled to Candlestick and saw them beat the Pirates. So I guess the Giants must have Grass Valley values then?LikeLike

RL,
That was a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to get some real exposure to your work. But it was only once. And it was in a series with other cartoonists.LikeLike
-
So I did actually appear in the San Francisco Chronicle, despite your previous assumption. Typical.

Well, the “series of cartoons” you ran were so itty bitty I couldn’t tell. I looked for your work and didn’t see it from the example you provided. But I’m happy to take your word for it if you think that qualifies as “running in the Chronicle.”

The only time I was in the Chronicle was back when they were trying to make our county out as a white power county. I guess my claim to fame does not match Pelline’s since he supposedly delivered coffee to Mr. Caen. Too funny.

Todd,
I never delivered coffee to Herb, but I parked my car next to his white Jag in the manager’s parking lot! We have a nice note from Herb congratulating us on our marriage. It’s in the hallway of our home here.LikeLike

I wonder, it anyone has noticed that when Mr Pelline arrives the story line changes from the subject of the moment and Mr Pelline becomes the subject of the posts here. My question is this intentional strategy or just an ego driven thing on his part?

I did! I found his confusion over guns in society every bit as lacking in basic logic and common sense as blatant as yours.
I did call him “Ed” once for some reason.
…and jeffy….I already posted that link here. You can only “out” somebody once….yes…my real name is Dave Larsen….yes I live in Carmichael.
Weak sauce fatboy!LikeLike
-
Dave,
I just wanted to re-certify your idiocy. (Do you mind if I call you Dave?) LOL.LikeLike
-
Posted by: JeffPelline | 30 October 2014 at 11:03 AM
I don’t……jeffy. Call me Dave all you want!
Idiocy? It’s the mark of the weak minded to be frightened of inanimate objects. A characteristic that you demonstrate repeatedly. Your….ahem….colleague was going on and on about guns “not providing clean water” or “teaching children to read”. Clearly tasks that guns were never intended for and evidence of either extremely poor writing skills or mild mental illness.
Perhaps both.
I think that I’m on pretty solid ground returning the “idiocy” charge to both you and your “little newthpaper friend”.LikeLike
-
My goodness. Fish is so funny and such a welcome poster on all these blogs. The difference is we enjoy him and his fun approach and we cringe when Pelline comes here. Pelline is not funny, is a mean and derogatory person and deserves all those cartoons by the almost funny Crabb. So fish, keep it going. Pelline, stay on your own lawn where you can be yourself as well as your sock puppets. Too funny!

To many, Pelline remains a carpetbagger. I’m barely a local and I’ve been here two or three times as long.
BTW, how did that dismal 0-10 loss the day before reflect on ‘frisco values vs Kansas City values?LikeLike

If Lamphier (presumed D) was running against Art Moore (R) for Congress, which would Jeffie and the Lickspittles have been fawning over? As everyone knows, Jeffie is only pushing Moore because he’s the left’s only hope of pushing McClintock out, and there’s not much chance of that happening, short of the proverbial “found in bed with a dead girl or a live boy” October surprise.

Jeff Pelline, re: your 10/30 10:26 post, I can’t thank you enough! I have been a fan of “fish” since he started posting here. Now that you have provided the great link to a well done and highly entertaining article, I am now a huge fan of Dave Larsen also! Well done Dave! Oh, and Pelline, just so I am clear, you are now stating that your claim to fame is not in fetching coffee for Herb Caen, but in parking next to him? Thank you for clearing that up. The internet IS changing how we communicate! Thanks for the laughs! John

John,
Herb Caen was my friend and colleague for 12 years. We shared many good times. He ran items from me in his column. We laughed together about many of them. When he died, I attended his funeral with my wife. He once wrote us a fun note when we announced our marriage: “Shannon, what a lovely name. Congratulations!” I have personal correspondence from around the house and good memories. Who are you? Because if I knew, I would look you in the face and call you a sicko.LikeLike
-
So as a pal of Herb’s dor 12 years all he gave you was a short note of congrats for your marriage? Now that is truly a close personal friend. Go get that coffee! What a hoot!

So, (3:56) Caen knew Pelline so well that, when after he got married, the announcement was the first time he’d learned of his bride’s name?
That sure was an intimate friendship with Mr. Baghdad by the Bay himself, Jeff. No wonder you’re so proud to have rubbed parking places with him.LikeLike

Thank you John! Not my best rant…but it did put jeffy into a lather and that counts for “style points” at least!LikeLike

Herb sent me a lovely note when we announced we were getting married, not when we were married. Herb met my wife many times before we got married. I’m happy for my friendship with him. As an older man, he showed a lot of class and couth. Now if you want to belittle a friendship, I’d think more about Todd’s “play to pay” friendship with Doug LaMalfa and his “grin and grip” photos: http://sierradragonsbreathe.blogspot.com/2014/10/lamalfa-fundraiser-big-success.html LOL!

“Wedding announcements” are, iirc, after the fact. Wedding invitations are sent before, engagement announcements even earlier, or so I’ve heard.
Had Caen actually attended your wedding I suspect you’d be crowing loudly.
So much of your self worth seems bound up in the names you drop, Jeff. Very curious.LikeLike
-
Greg Goodknight,
You have a tendency to put words in people’s mouths for them in your rush to belittle them. I also regularly interviewed Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and John Chambers and others for news articles at The Chronicle. It was my job. At CNET, I invited Jobs to come to the newsroom, and he laid out a strategy for his “i-devices” rather eloquently, before the products hit the market. It was always a coup to land Steve. It probably sounds like name dropping to you because you don’t get around much and your life experience sounds rather dull. I am happy for your son’s success, however. You seem to get a real kick out of talking about his successes, and I like that.LikeLike
-
Jeff, yes, we know those folks only talked to you to get free publicity, which is why that tingly feeling running down your leg when sharing your glory days is so funny to behold.
I’m still waiting for you to come clean about the bald faced lie you once told on this very blog, that I had a temper tantrum in public, at a Constitution Day parade. The same day you offered to “apologize” for writing the libel if only I’d retract the claim, which I had heard from multiple sources who should know (because they were there), that you were “universally despised at The Union”.
Since you’ve mentioned my kid, let’s include yours… why is it you keep slandering the father of one of your son’s classmates?LikeLike

Funny… When Herb was visiting Dad on a regular basis to discus to politics of the day,
The coffee boy never was mentioned. Herb and Pops were members of an exclusive club. ” The over 60 boys.” Very few members back then. ( Early 60’s) Herb gave Dad a full right up in his editorial in congratulations of becoming a “member”. ( I was the entrance to that club.) Herb made many a visit to the “sticks” as he put it to converse with Dad.
Ig Jeffy is SO knowledgeable of Herb, he should know just what “club” that was. and what the criteria of membership was.
Somewhere in Dad’s (s)crap book, the write up has been saved. I may need to dig it out.
I always love to provide documentation when at all possible.
Ya’ see Jeffy, Pops back in his day was one of the “who’s Who” of S.F.for many years.
But since you seen to like wizzing contests , What’s your Presidential inauguration invitation count? Even a ditch digger can know someone who has held the office.
The great man knew Dad couldn’t attend, so he wanted his #1 Son to be present.
Top that coffee boy.LikeLike

Gregory,
It’s fun to watch you melt down when you end up on the losing end of an argument. Nobody races to the bottom faster than you. We’re all used to it by now, however. LOL.LikeLike

Jeff Pelline, your 3:56 post. Why would you want to call me a sicko Jeff? I have done nothing but thank you for the link you posted and acknowledge your claim to fame of parking next to Herb Caen. Unlike other posters here, I am totally impressed by who you have parked next to, and am very anxious to learn who else might be on your list of parking lot friends. Please don’t hold back because parking next to someone is so much more than fetching them coffee. LOL

Jeff Pelline, since my name is John I really am not hiding anything now am I? I am not belittling or passing judgement on your friendship with Herb Caen. I am kind of mocking you for your claiming to have parked next to Herb Caen. That is really reaching for something to bolster your status, in my opinion. Instead, perhaps you could talk about the fact that for a very short time you worked at The Union, where you were allowed to park next to Jeff Ackerman, and occasionally fetch him coffee. That gives you much greater status. Try not to be so surly Jeff, it really is not healthy.

No, “John,” you are hiding your identity. Your are a coward, throwing rocks and hiding behind an anonymous name. I reread this, and I think it suits you perfectly: http://sierrafoothillsreport.com/2014/02/16/new-study-internet-trolls-are-often-machiavellian-sadists/
BTW, I never fetched Jeff Ackerman coffee. He made his own in his office with his own coffee maker. And he never shared it with the staff. It was very telling. Like his cherry desk that he used to polish with a cloth. A “big fish in a small pond.” It will all be in my book, “The State of Jefferson.” Stay tuned.LikeLike

Pelline wouldn’t be here today without the Lamphier tragedy weighing him down. Finally, a statement from the embattled Super:”I have not proactively and knowingly “clicked on, visited, or downloaded” any inappropriate material”, which smells like a Nixonian non-denial denial to me.
Jeff, I’m delighted you know nothing about me other than what you dream up; I’d have matched your latest bravado already except this was a perfect evening to get a night proficiency flight in, three takeoffs and landings to a full stop starting no earlier than an hour after sundown. A perfect night for it… and now I’m legal for passengers at night till the end of January, covering the holidays.
I recall one of Pelline’s past fanciful personal attacks was when he was denigrating my parenting despite never having met me or anyone who knew me; recalling how his father (whom he curiously referred to as his “valet”) would help him with his algebra homework, Pelline challenged me, expecting that I’d never done such a thing… and then had no retort when he learned that I had, in fact, resigned from Cisco to be a full time Dad (a single dad after his mom died) with our first task… teaching my son algebra out of the book of my choosing, followed by Geometry (though by then he was pretty much on his own as what I mostly did with Algebra I was teaching him how to teach himself from a great book). Let’s just say that worked out better than Jeff being helped with his homework.
Let’s also say I don’t boost my self esteem by dropping names. “Parked next to Herb Caen”. Pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?LikeLike
