   That NY Times interactive map is eyeopening, thanks George.
   Over 3400 machine guns were poured into LA County. The winner of the NorCal machine gun lotto was Sacramento County with 797 assault rifles, but Yolo, at 446, is probably the per capita winner. It appears Nevada County, with only 41 freebie machine guns had better not try to invade Placer County, as they got more than twice as many but no armored car. Better attack in the daytime as Placer also got a &*(@-load of night vision goodies.

   El Jefe, I was happy to ignore Ruminations and spar purely with ideas in your sandbox until you decided to run me off your reservation, tired of losing arguments on your turf. Your choice. You’ve since run off everyone else who has dared left crunchy nuggets that don’t smell like yours.
   I’m happy to mock your appearance, as you have chosen to mock me, both by calling me a “boob” for not agreeing with your chosen Chicken Littles, and you also broadcast a false claim that I had a public temper tantrum, only to, minutes later, offer to apologize for it if I’d retract an apparently defensible statement, that you were universally despised at The Union, that I had more than one source for.
   Real journalists don’t make stuff up, and you’ve violated one of the basic rules of politics: keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

   What a ridiculous, racist-sounding rant. We have a lot of intelligent people around here. How come The Union can’t get them to write letters? How will putting people like Stan Meckler on the editorial board help “raise the bar” of comments at The Union?
   People write letters to the editor at newspapers around the country jeffy. That you find the content distasteful is hardly the newspapers problem.
   You really need to “raise the bar” on your thought processes.

   What exactly is wrong with that letter? What, pray tell.
   Shoot the messenger and shoot the Union staff is what the former something has left in his/ it’s dwindling arsenal. Now I am concerned. He was lost touch with reality and he/it is living in our community. Thank goodness for Laura’s Law. An intervention is long overdue and in order. Hope he/ it can remember where he lost his mind.
   On a more pleasant one, Good Morning Mr. Fish. You are in a most reasonable form this fine morn. Nothing like a good night’s sleep to refresh one’s spirits.

   El Jefe is in his own world. No, that Letter to The Union isn’t racist, nor is it much of a rant but it gave Jeffie and The Lickspittles something to cackle about.
   What a shame JP didn’t post his email to the Union’s publisher, I’m sure it was glorious.

    It’s almost as hard to work “lickspittle” into a post as it is to use “gargantuan”… I so rarely get to use either in a sentence. The band name just came to me as a fine alternative to just again referring to his toadies or sycophants.
    If it wasn’t for Jeff talking to himself, his Annie Fox sockpuppet (I’d wager the hand up her dress is named Pelline) and Chip whatisname, there would be only one comment there in the last day and a half.
