Do not exhibit your sore finger; for all to strike upon, and do not complain of it, for malice always pounds where it hurts the most.  No use to get angry, for this will only add to the general amusement; evil intent goes sneaking around to uncover the infirmity, and prods about to discover where suffering is greatest, in a thousand different ways, until it hits the spot. …  Gracian #145 (Fischer translation)

George Rebane

FUEJust got back from travel, and after we unloaded the truck I fired up the ol’ laptop to check my emails.  Our ‘designated reader’ (a dirty job, but someone has to do it) emailed again the latest blog post by the Former Union Editor who has recently been all over CABPRO like ugly on a bear’s ass.  His latest gleeful message excoriates Russ Steele, Todd Juvinall, and me for not hanging out CABPRO’s current internal machinations for all to see.  All of us have been or are CABPRO members who support the work of the organization, and we see no reason to advertise the internal dust-up going on in this private advocacy group.  (Jo Ann and I are members, and I am a former board member of the organization.  Jo Ann’s cited piece in the CABPRO newsletter was picked up from the NC Republican Women Federated newsletter.  Jo Ann is a board member and an officer of the NCRWF.)

As they evolve, such problems occur in almost all organizations as longstanding as CABPRO, and there is no legal or ethical reason why these must be made public.  The organization’s supportive members always want these matters to be handled internally and discreetly, and get their group flying hot, true, and normal again as soon as possible. Therefore we let others, those who work counter to the organization, carry that water – a job which they will inevitably and happily always seek to do.  FUE is just sailing under his true colors.

[update]  Apologies to Todd Juvinall, fellow blogger and arguably the founder of CABPRO, who has some important history on the organization that I failed to pick up before posting this piece.  You can access it here.

ToddJ 950am – Yes, it is a sad kind of ‘funny’ when the FUE is so desperate for traffic that he turns cartwheels in how he represents and maintains his blog. But the biggest comedy comes from his ‘scoops’ and ‘scooplets’. My designated reader emails report his outrage that The Union’s reporting on the CABPRO kerfuffle did not give him credit for ‘discovering’ what at least half of our community has been aware of for quite some time. Apropos to this, I refer the casual reader to my comments about journalism and journalists in the addendum here –

    Todd,
As the lone founder of CABPRO “I started CABPRO from whole cloth to assist.”** and was the predecessor to Mr Shea as the Executive Director of the organization, what is your role in all this? I know you wrote a blog post about the issue trying to distance yourself from the controversy. In such a small county and even smaller population center it is hard to believe the sole founder and Executive Director as recent as 2012 walked away completely and cleanly from their organization.
    Who’s in charge of CABPRO?

There is no there there BenE. I turned over the Exec role to others after about 1998 or so. All were women except for Light and Shea. I was an equal opportunity fella when it came to power for women. While you were changing your shorts in gym class, I was organizing the community into a true “All American” county (I was also Chairman of the NCRCC, an elected position). But, when I turned it over it was because I decided to restart my business and spend my time there. CABPRO was in good hands with Margaret Urke and Sharon the office manager and the bevy of volunteers.

If you want to pick a person apart for their opinions or positions go for it. The problem I have with almost all of you at RR is you attack the person in ways that have nothing to do with opinions or politics. Very immature.
If you haven’t noticed you go off the deep end every once in awhile attacking an individual relentlessly about anything and everything. It is kind of embarrassing to witness.

You do realize that nothing posted on a blog is required to conform to the standard rules of debate, honesty, or good manners don’t you…..If they were Pelline would have to take his site down. And to your point about, ….If you want to pick a person apart for their opinions or positions go for it., Nigga please! The progressive side of politics (your side) invented attacking the man, the progressive side of the blogosphere perfected it! I’m sure you’ve seen and probably participated in a Tuesday morning KosKid swarm against someone who had the temerity to interject an opposing opinion during one of their discussions…….RACIST!!!!!…..HATER!!!!!!……HOMOPHOBE!!!!…..TEATHUGLIKKKAN!!!!!…. ! You just didn’t notice that they were attacking the man and not the idea because it wasn’t your ox being gored. We had a real opportunity to discuss the “ideas” that you treasure so, when you posted your 14 points that you thought qualified one as an authoritarian. We had an assertion: regular commenters at Rebanes Ruminations were Fascist Authortarians, and we had a standard against which we could debate: the 14 points provided by your academic. That would have been a great place to “pick ideas apart”.
Finally to your point about my inclination to abuse animals. There has been much animal abuse in my life…..but I own Dachshunds and they are, as near as I can tell, cranky little fur covered cylinders filled with urine and fury directed against those not in their circle. Those stubby little Kraut bastards abuse me incessantly, so I’m the victim here dammit…..I’m the VICTIM!

Posting a picture a person with an insult isn’t funny. Stating you want to beat and piss on a homeless man isn’t funny. Placing a bet that a death of a family member out does my near fatal car accident isn’t funny. The examples can go on and on.

You are dancing around the issue, which is understandable since the position you are taking is deplorable. Maybe if we change the discussion to a discussion about race and criminality it would allow you to get your footing again. The problems with our legal system have more to do with social economic status of a person than the color of their skin but we won’t even attempt to incorporate that into this discussion.
    Nature vs. Nurture
Do white people biologically have less of tendency to commit crimes?
Do Black/ African American people biologically have more of a tendency to commit crimes, especially young black/ African American men?
    US Population 2012
    US Census Bureau
    White 77.9%
    Black/ African American 13.1%
    US Prison Population
    Bureau of Prisons 2014
    White 59.5%
    Black/ African American 37.1%
For the record, in straight numbers not percentages in the US whites occupy more beds in prison and receive most social services.

Ben, it wasn’t biology which condemned a few generations of young black men to being raised without their fathers in an intact family. That’s taken a few generations of Great Society programs that made fathers by and large superfluous and even a hindrance to receiving largess from Uncle Sugar. If the sperm donor can be identified, Uncle Sugar will drain whatever cash they might have for the poor mom, but one can’t drain blood from a turnip.
These numbers are from 2012:”72.3 percent of non-Hispanic blacks are now born out-of-wedlock; 66.2 percent of American Indians/Alaska Natives; 53.3 percent of Hispanics; 29.1 percent of non-Hispanic whites; and 17.2 percent of Asians/Pacific Islanders.”
About 41% overall. When the Moynihan Report was written, black illegitimacy was about 25%, less than the euroamerican rate now.
Ben, now, put that thinking cap on… how does racism force black fathers and mothers to not raise their children together?

What does the pounding of of a disabled white guy by multiple black guys have to do with any of your last offering. What does it have to do with just getting out of the futures way? What does it have to do with who receives the most social services?

Once again BenE tries to make dots connect and once again his dots don’t work. Crime in the minority communities is high because the liberals put in place policies and laws since the early 60’s that have wrecked the minority families. We have more prison beds because we have more prisoners.
Now BenE, when a 14 year old black child has a baby and the father is adios, what do you think the odds of that child becoming a doctor are?
I was fascinated last week on a documentary about Pablo Escobar. The first really big time cocaine kingpin from Colombia. Even though he was murdering just about everyone he could, the “poor” folks made him into a hero (he even ran for public office!). Why, because he gave then stuff. And they wanted more stuff. In our country, the feds are the Pablo’s. They give these people their stuff and all they have to do is ask for it. We have the freest country on the planet and I surmise it is that freedom that creates the lawlessness that many people practice. They also have “rights” even though they may be murdering children or feeding them crack.
I would suggest you pack your “stuff” and move down to Oakland and live among your favored people. Do some good for them rather than just bloviating in safe little white Nevada County. What a joke you are.

But that does not prevent members of both organizations to do so through their respective memberships in organizations that do endorse.
