Texas legislature’s attempt to pass a women’s health bill was disrupted by an “unruly mob” of liberals. Gov Perry vows to push it through in a later session with more security present. The bill would 1) ban abortions after 20 weeks, 2) Require abortion clinics to upgrade to “ambulatory surgical centers”, and “require (abortion) doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles”. Given the Gosnell experience in Philadelphia, these sound like totally reasonable requirements for facilities in which women seek walk-in/walk-out abortions which sometimes go very wrong. Opposing them makes clear that pro-abortionists who advertise themselves as ‘women’s health’ proponents don’t give a big rat’s ass about women’s health.
A couple of days ago we saw a very sad interview with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Gen Martin Dempsey who stated his requirements before committing troops to battle in the nation’s interests as determined by its civilian leadership. The good general said that “I’d like to understand the plan to make peace before starting a war.” As a GI I wasn’t aware that my understanding of the aftermath of battle was a prerequisite for me to follow lawful orders to get in there and fight as I was trained to do. I don’t recall Generals Eisenhower, Bradley, Patton, MacArthur, … putting forth such demands before committing troops. I think that was because in the old days waging peace was beyond their pay grade.

Did you see that Seattle has to remove wanted posters in buses that feature pictures of 17 terrorists wanted by the US government. The reason being that it may hurt the feelings of Muslims riding on the bus, even though all of the wanted terrorists are not Muslims. Rep McDermott (D-WA) wants the State Dept issued posters to be taken down because they may “encourage religious and racial profiling”. And that pretty much underlines the progressive priorities when it comes to America’s security.
