Two prominent Democrat pollsters argue for ‘The Hillary Moment’ in 2012.  They make a compelling case for Reid and Pelosi to pick up the phone and call Obama to ask him to take the Truman/Johnson moral high ground and bow out.  Their well-stated arguments revolve around The Community Organizer’s horrible record in office, and his harm to the Democratic Party as he continues to play the only card he has left – a devastatingly negative campaign against the Republicans that offers nothing new for his second term.  To this I would add that anyone paying attention will have noticed that Obama has become irrelevant to the important issues in today's national debate.  It's hard to see how he will regain his 'presidential voice'.  Meanwhile, there is the loyal, strong, and experienced Mrs Clinton, the one who can bring both sides together to make the hard decisions required to again move the country forward.  Hmmm …

An email from our ‘designated reader’ forwards a copy of a post and related comments on another blog that once more with feeling denounces RR and its view of the world.  The best I can make of the lament is that the worthy representatives of the Left, who regularly read and comment on RR, have not been able to change a hair on the heads of the reprobate Right who also frequent these pages (mine notwithstanding due to haircut).  Their frustration is understandable since they see no weakness in their collectivist ideology or its buttressing arguments.  In the past they have often relinquished the field, only to regain their strength, if not their composure, and then again leap into the breach.  The door is always left open and the welcoming light is on.

At this writing, the Dow is down about 300 points on what the WSJ calls “debt disappointment” resulting from the Congressional Kabuki’s imminent demise.  It is forever a mystery to this commentator as to what alternatives did those stockholders expect – that the Dubious Dozen would come up with some solution to our runaway spending programs and economy killers??  Mind boggling.

Are the Occupiers’ tent cities free speech?  Have to wonder about the strength of their message if they have to resort to repeatedly breaking the law.  It's clear that those who can’t or won’t do not comprise their vaunted “99%”, and their message ranges between muddled and maniacal.  This is not the correct way to start the revolution they seek.  Why these street idiots have not been organized into a coherent and forceful voice is something to ponder.  Are they being viewed by the unions and the Democrats as an uncontrollable and embarrassing election year liability.  Save from bullhorns of the far Left, the message to them from both sides of the aisle seems to be ‘Eat S#!t and Die!’

It used to be the Pewz candidate would pick a state with a lot of electoral votes and choose a Veep from their. It kind of flies in the face of liberals who denigrate Sarah Palin because our party picked a 3 electoral state.

The essence of Civil Disobedience is that people chose to break the law and suffer the consequences. They don’t have the right to break the law but the have the ability to do so. It is irrelevant what my opinion is as to whether people chose to consciously break the law. I haven’t done so, at least in this matter. How about the millions of people who consciously decide to smoke Marijuana rather than have a cocktail at the end of the day? All law breakers for sure.
If I were the master organizer of the OWS crowd I would use a different tactic-consumer strikes-to dramatize the questions so I am not necessarily a supporter of the tactics used for strategic reasons. It is their choice as individuals to break the law and many have chosen to do so and will continue. If someone chose to disrupt my house in the pursuit of making a political statement I would expect them to be arrested but again their purpose in engaging in illegal activity would be to get arrested so what’s the point in your question. Do I think people have the right to illegal activity to protest? No, but they have the ability to do so if they wish.
They can go as far as they choose and must be willing to suffer the consequences if they engage in civil disobedience.
Please show me where I supported assault? Those were your words not mine.
The students who were pepper sprayed in Davis succeeded beyond their wildest expectations in bringing attntion to their cause. The Davis Cops could have not followed the script better.
I used Sarah Palin to test the depth of your concern about the ability of the American voters to make intelligent choices. Your answer that she was chosen to activate the right as a voting block confirms my view that the process of gaining power for the Republican Party far overcame the desire to chose an experienced and qualified person who would be a heartbeat away from being President of the United States. So the Republican Party was playing to the dumb and dummer voters who saw her as a desirable VP. My case is made. Don’t counter by saying I supported Obama who might also be confided unqualified. He was by no means my choice for President.

I loved the decision to have Palin on the 2008 ticket as VP. I saw her as an untainted American with common sense and high morals. [McCain is war mongering RINO so I could not vote for him] Ron Paul and Alan Keyes were my ‘go to’ candidates.
I am sure that Palin has since been bought and paid for.
The question is ‘can anything be done to save America?’ I think I know Rebane’s answer “Observations…from the last great century of Man.”

Your apparent endorsement of Sarah Palin based on her common sense and high morals certainly opens up the field for millions of Americans to qualify for being a heartbeat away from the Presidency of the most powerful country in the world. She would probably have quit anyway as soon as a better deal came her way like she did in Alaska.
This is really funny stuff. Thanks for the laughs.

Paul, the kids that got hosed in Davis are a bunch of cry-babies. They were told to disperse and given ample opportunity to do so. They resisted arrest and so were sprayed. It makes them more compliant. They used to use the old scalp massager. You think it’s great because it has raised a rukus. The uproar has been all about ‘police brutality’. I have no idea why they were sitting there or what their protest was. I’m sure not persuaded in any way to their side by stupid and criminal antics.
