Jo Ann and I were out at the fairgrounds today with about 300 local friends and neighbors at the Nevada County Tea Party organized by our own Tea Party Patriots chapter. We were hootin’ it up and listening to music and some dignitaries explain to us what we already knew, but we wanted to hear it again so we’d get it right.
Congressman Tom McClintock gave the keynote and stole a line from the liberals – “Agitate, agitate, agitate!”. I suppose even we silent “extremists” need to be kicked in the pants to get us going. By my count there were still a lot of folks at home busy feeding their gold fish. Anyway, that Tom sure has a good grasp of government and history. Too bad the gebronies have him badly outnumbered in Washington. In any event, during these hard times it’s always good to be out and among a crowd that sees the same world that you do. Reading the news and looking at what’s going on around the world, it sometimes gets to feel mighty lonely. And misery does love company, hope our next gathering brings out even more.
There seemed to be only one reporter from the media with all her equipment strapped on and interviewing the dignitaries. For a better view of the goings on, go to Russ’s NC Media Watch. That man just sat there with his little camera glued to his eyeball, snapping away at anything and everything – he put the rest of us photogs to shame hoarding them little bits in our own cameras. Hell, when I finished my parsimonious picture popping, I had only about 970 pictures left.
