[‘Why Johnny can’t read’ is has been the subject of countless commentaries and books on the massive deficit in our public education system. The reasons given all have merit in as far as they go, but they leave out an extremely important aspect of our national illiteracy, namely, that it is multigenerational. We live in the midst of tens of millions of fellow Americans who remain hamstrung in their ability understand the written word which strongly impacts and correlates with their ability to think critically. As recent evidence I call your attention to the election to public offices of socialists Mamdani et al. gjr]

“News Flash! Dems are fine with Maduro getting grabbed.”
What a stupid outright lie. The Dems have spend Sunday declaring his arrest as “unconstitutional” and “illegal”. The same folks that thought bombing and killing Gaddafi without congressional approval was splendid – because they did it. TDS on display once again.

…..Catholic Relief Services? What a surprise that his bleat is a laundry list of progressive nitwittery!
<I>”George Rebane’s recent Other Voices in the Union (Self-immolation derby) was hyperbolic and wildly inaccurate.
Without naming wins, Rebane states the Trump has accomplished more in the last 10 months than any president before him and claims that his dismal 39% approval rating (seven points lower than President Biden’s at the same time) is because of his “temperament” and “braggadocio.”
Past presidents created opportunities. To name a few: President Biden – Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and post Covid, American Rescue Plan. President Obama – Affordable Care Act, recovery from the Great Recession, Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform, advancing LGBTQ+ rights.
In his first year, Trump has not created opportunities for Americans. His record to date is destroying them. Here are just a few highlights of this president’s actions over the past year:
He has slowed down our economy, rolled back protections for public health and the environment and put health care and social security at risk for millions of Americans.
He has attacked, defunded and sued universities, closed the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) halting humanitarian aid around the world and resulting in at least 600,000 deaths globally in just the last nine months.
He terminated thousands of federal employees without cause, rolled back affordable drug and insulin polices, and removed the U.S from the World Health Organization.
He dismantled the Department of Education and made major cuts to Pell Grants and federal student loan programs.
He issued sweeping rollbacks to environmental protections, withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords, halted funding for federal small business grants and moved to eliminate all funding tied to diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
He has deported more than two million immigrants, many of them pending asylum and other legitimate and legal claims, tearing apart families and terrorizing communities in the process.
Despite his promise to lower costs for Americans, affordability continues to plague all of us. His mercurial tariff policies, supposedly designed to reduce our national debt and protect American industries, have wreaked havoc on small businesses, U.S. farmers and everyday consumers who are paying higher prices on everything.
He has promised to end the Ukraine/Russian war on “day one” but after a year has been unsuccessful. He claims without any ties to reality to have ended eight wars.
In short, he has made us poorer, weaker, less healthy, less optimistic about our future and a more divided nation than ever. That’s why his polls are low.

Sorry dude…..!
Increased poverty was baked in the cake when they COVID washed god knows how much money into the economy.
“weaker, less healthy” …..feature not a bug for the progressive intelligentsia! “more divided”
“a more divided nation than ever. That’s why his polls are low.” Again a benefit to proglodyte leadership.
Maybe next time try to make your post so Clownworldly obvious…!
Really George….what is it about Quainty Town (thanks brother Bill)

NYC mayoral aide Cea Weaver who says whites owning houses is racist bursts into TEARS when asked about her mother’s $1.4m Craftsman home
“A woke aide to New York City‘s new socialist mayor burst out crying when confronted over her assertion that it is racist for white people to own homes – despite her own mother owning a $1.4m Craftsman house.
Cea Weaver, who runs Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Office to Protect Tenants, was overcome with emotion when confronted outside her apartment in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning.
The 37-year-old began running down the street after seeing a Daily Mail reporter outside her home, then said ‘No’ through tears when asked if she wanted to comment on her professor mother Celia Appleton’s ownership of the $1.4 million property in fast-gentrifying Nashville.
Weaver appeared to be walking towards a nearby subway station, but then turned back and ran inside her home, which has a ‘Free Palestine‘ poster taped to one of its windows.
She was subsequently seen peering out the same window with the poster in it.
Weaver previously tweeted that ‘homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy’ and that ‘homeownership is racist’ in social media posts that also urged people to ‘impoverish the white middle class.’
In another Twitter missive from 2018, Weaver wrote: ‘There is no such thing as “good gentrifier,” only people who are actively working on projects to dismantle white supremacy and capitalism and people who aren’t.’
Weaver further called on people to ‘seize private property’ and called for the election of communist lawmakers.”

Another proud accomplishment of the left and the Dems:
“Gen Z are arriving to college unable to even read a sentence…”
And how much do we pay for children’s education in this country?
I guess as long as they all get a gold star and are made to FEEL good about themselves – that’s all that matters.
