    There are obviously plenty of legitimate uses to ALPRs. Their proponents will wax lyrical about how they can help solve carjackings and kidnappings. But, like all technology, they are ripe for abuse. They are particularly ripe for abuse in an increasingly authoritarian US, full of lawmakers who want to control women’s bodies.

    Murder being the illegal taking of a human life.
    She could have just taken the bus or better yet –
    become a resident of a state that allows abortions.
    The authorities have “tracked” citizens crossing state lines for criminal activity for decades.
    Nothing new – probably could have used credit card receipts as they usually do.
    Wait til we have a govt-run all digital currency.
    You won’t be able to do much of anything without the govt knowing about it.
    And by the way – that reporter lady was fired from a private news agency. Not the govt.

    Well – in the first place, my ‘inhaling’ ended several decades ago in the last century – so I’m hardly a stoner.
    And being against the murder of innocent humans would actually make me anti-Taliban, so I’m puzzled by the choice of terms.
    A cogent and logical response by BeerBelly might clear things up, but he seems incapable of a rational back-and-forth, so I’ll just have to leave it there.
