[Nobody seems to know how to address the issue of federal district judges assuming executive branch prerogatives from the bench. Both Right and Left are haranguing each other on the question of who, the President or the judge, is actually abiding by the laws of the land. The proper way to approach the solution here is for SCOTUS to first rule on whether such district judges have any standing in general to rule on federal policies. The proper ruling would be for SCOTUS to make it clear that they have no standing on matters outside their district, and most certainly not on matters that involve federal policies, be they originated by Congress or the Executive. Keep these black-robed two-bit lawyers in their sandbox. gjr]

It seems to me we’re stuck with it until the judiciary decides their own jobs are good enough without becoming a stand in president when presented with the opportunity.
It’s a shame Dems can’t just suck it up and put up with Trump for his term of orifice.

Oh well, like it sez in the Act founding the Department of Education:

Here’s a good recap of the damage done to our country by the Dems:
“The 10 million plus illegals that came in over the last four years, you just don’t wake up one day in Central America and say I am going to the Darien Gap, and go to the Mexican border and then meander my way into the interior of the US without a tremendous amount of aid along the way.”
More than one observer has noted that the marching hordes were nothing more than a photo op.
They didn’t walk up through Mexico – some one paid their way.
Millions of non-producers bound to suck up hundreds of billions in tax payer funds until they’re deported.

That would be cool, but I can’t say that people care enough to bother.
A quick look at https://transparentcalifornia.com/ shows the salaries and crazy number of employees the various arms of government have.
Some of the local non-profits are obviously there just to overpay a few execs, and that money came from somewhere.
God knows how much money went into the Bakersfield to Fresno express.
The state is stuffed with crazy commissions, bureaucracy, needless rules…but no one cares. One person’s waste is another’s Iron Rice Bowl and any attempt to cut costs will just cause a Washington Monument syndrome and a protest by crazy old wimmen at the next ‘Town Hall’. I think I give up before it even starts.

They earned their outcome –
Top Democrats tell us their party is in its deepest hole in nearly 50 years — and they fear things could actually get worse:
The party has its lowest favorability ever.
No popular national leader to help improve it.
Insufficient numbers to stop most legislation in Congress.
A durable minority on the Supreme Court.
Dwindling influence over the media ecosystem, with right-leaning podcasters and social media accounts ascendant.
Young voters are growing dramatically more conservative.
A bad 2026 map for Senate races.
Democratic Senate retirements could make it harder for the party to flip the House, with members tempted by statewide races.
There are only three House Republicans in districts former Vice President Harris won in 2024, a dim sign for a Democratic surge. There were 23 eight years ago in seats Hillary Clinton won.
And, thanks to the number of people fleeing blue states, the math for a Dem to win the presidency will just get harder in 2030.
Doug Sosnik — a senior adviser to President Bill Clinton, and widely followed thinker on political megatrends — told us this is Dems’ deepest hole in at least the 45 years since Ronald Reagan’s victory in 1980. Sosnik said the 2024 election was at least as much a repudiation of Democrats as it was a victory for Trump.
As Ezra Klein noted this month in his New York Times column, if current population patterns hold, Democrats will suffer a devastating blow after the 2030 census: The party will lose as many as a dozen House seats and electoral votes.
He points out that in that Electoral College, Dems could win all the states Harris carried in 2024 — plus Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — and still lose the White House
The big picture: Democrats’ dismal reality is not Republican spin. In fact, there’s broad consensus among Democratic leaders that most current political, cultural, media and generational trends are cutting against them.
“Democrats are losing working-class voters,” Klein, co-author with Derek Thompson of the new liberal blueprint “Abundance,” said last week. “They’re seeing their margins among nonwhite voters erode and vanish. They’re losing young voters. Something is wrong in the Democratic Party.”
Shor said on Klein’s podcast, “The Ezra Klein Show,” that his most striking finding — and the one most worrisome to him — is the surging pro-Trump/MAGA/Republican views and voting patterns of young men, immigrants and anyone other than strident liberals.
Shor estimates a 23-point swing against Democrats among immigrants. The swing is very pronounced among Hispanics who consider themselves conservatives: Democratic support dropped by 50%.
But it’s the rise of conservatism among young people, mainly men, that spooks him most. “[Y]oung voters — regardless of race and gender — have become more Republican,
Ali Mortell, director of research at Blue Rose Research, told Axios’ Tal Axelrod: “Millennials were one of the most progressive generations, and it’s looking like Gen Z is about to be one of the most conservative.”
The thing he’s been most shocked by over the last four years, Shor told Klein: “[Y]oung people have gone from being the most progressive generation since the Baby Boomers, and maybe even in some ways more so, to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we’ve experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years.”

“This is the guy that pedals in garbage. This is what he does,” Hegseth added.
He also commended the troops who conducted the raids, and the president for ordering strikes against them.
“I would love to comment on the Houthi campaign, because of the skill and courage of our troops. I’ve monitored it very closely from the beginning … Our troops, our sailors, were getting shot at as targets. Our ships couldn’t sail through, and when they did, shoot back purely defensively, or at shacks in Yemen, President Trump said, ‘No more. We will re establish deterrence, we will open freedom of navigation, and we will ultimately decimate the Houthis,’ which is exactly what we’re doing.”
Goldberg infamously wrote a story claiming that Trump had called American troops who died in World War II “suckers and losers.”

TRU DAT! –
Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson said on Newsmax Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s counter-revolutionary tactics might disrupt the Democratic Party for generations.
Trump’s current counter-revolutionary tactics include a comprehensive policy overhaul targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs across federal institutions, dismantling the Department of Education and reversing policies established under earlier administrations. During an appearance on “Finnerty,” Hanson said President Trump is a fundamentally different kind of leader, one who is reshaping the Republican strategy.
“I don’t think they understand Donald Trump. He is not George W. Bush. He’s not a Mitt Romney. He’s not a John McCain. He’s not satisfied to just slow down the growth of the administrative state and neo-socialism,” Hanson said. “He’s a counter revolutionary. Yeah. And he’s saying economically, politically, socially, militarily, this country has gone way to the left, and I’m going to bring it back to the center. And that’s so disruptive.”
Hanson went on to say that the Democrats’ current lack of significant political power — being without the Supreme Court, the Senate, the House, and the presidency — leaves them with limited tools.
“They didn’t think any Republican had the courage or the gumption to do that. And he does. He’s serious. And now they’re thinking, ‘My God, the guy is really serious. He could really disrupt us for a generation,’” Hanson said. “And we’ve got to stop him at any means necessary. We don’t have the Supreme Court. We don’t have the House. We don’t have the Senate. We don’t have the White House. We didn’t win the popular vote. We didn’t win the Electoral [College], but we don’t have political power other than the street and our mouth.”
Hanson did not mince words in describing the ongoing struggles of the Democrats, who, despite recognizing the factors diminishing their public appeal, continue to escalate their rhetoric and actions.
“Normally any party would self-correct. They did that after George McGovern. They did it after Jimmy Carter, and they went full centrist with Bill Clinton, or at least they feigned centrism. But this is unusual that they know what’s killing them, and yet they double down on it,” Hanson added. “It’s almost like a mixture of, I guess I’d call it smut chic all the way down to terrorist porn, because they’re cutting videos where senators are saying S-H-I-T, or they’re calling Elon Musk a D-I-C-K, or A-S, this horrible, this smut language.”
Hanson said Democrats’ increasingly provocative media tactics surprise everyone.
“So I don’t think there’s a bottom to it. There should be, but each day surprises all of us if they get more and more pornographic, more and more smutty, and more and more participating, wink and nod, with terrorism.”

No linky because he shouldn’t be difficult to find and with the exception of that certain someone “who doesn’t read links” I assume the rest of those who visit regardless of political stripe won’t have any real difficulty!

God I love your local fish wrap! Because I won’t subscribe or give them an email address it’s really just “Coming Attractions” but still marvelous!
Nothing online can compete with the delusional ranting and nonsense spewed incessantly by the geriatric boomers who have taken to the foothills……Babylon Bee, The Onion, the late and frequently lamented “Scooper” all pale in comparison!

fish 7:34 – I picked that up out of a DK TDS-porn article this morning. Full of giggles:
“And the same is true of other ongoing disasters, including the shockingly rapid collapse of the Social Security Administration.”
“collapse”??!!
Good golly – our fed gov is being “dismantled” and it hasn’t snowed anywhere in the US for years and we’ll never be able to vote again!!
Too bad Biden didn’t get his second term – he was sharp as a tack and could have fixed all of this.
No wonder the left has gotten so loony.

The latest on CA’s Toonerville Trolly:
“California High-Speed Rail Needs $7 Billion for Bakersfield to Merced by 2026”
“The California Legislative Analyst’s Office told lawmakers in an Assembly Transportation budget hearing Wednesday that California High-Speed Rail needs $7 billion in funding by June 2026 or else the first Bakersfield to Merced leg of the system could be delayed further into the 2030’s.”
And then it will be operational? Pinky promise?
This whole thing was a scam from the start.
Maybe “Jazz Hands” Gavin can cover this fiasco on his new gab-fest-for-idiots.
