The Democratic leadership has discovered the evils of political appointees who share a politician’s ideology and worldview.  Since they have no recollection of their own politicians ever having done such a dastardly thing, they consider Trump’s appointment of Musk as his DOGE czar a true “constitutional crisis”.  In response their leaders are gathering ragtags of followers on every street corner on which they can erect a mic and attract a camera with the call for all ignorant Americans to assemble in the streets with torches and pitchforks to … RESIST!

Their own lamestream media lackeys have dutifully fallen in line with their own loud echoes of ‘constitutional crisis’.  No one seems to have picked up on how ludicrous is this charge.  Even the conservative cable news guys have trouble connecting the dots on the howls of the likes of Mad Maxine and Sychophant Schumer trying to get a rise out of the country against Trump, who now enjoys record  approval ratings.  It seems that only a few late-night conservative comics point out the utter nonsense that the Democrats are purveying.

The obvious counter to silence the Dems on this charge that somehow Musk is taking over the presidency is to point out that politicians ALWAYS appoint people with whose views they are compatible to key positions on the staffs and in their administrations.  How the hell did Trump pick all those cabinet members?  Was it dumb luck that they all wound up claiming to fly in tight formation with the boss?  No one howled when the unelected Rubio, Hegseth, Bessent, … got Trump’s nod to sit in his cabinet and wield some serious unelected power.  But all of them, at all times, are careful to point out that they are executing the President’s policies and vision.  (In fact, Musk is designated and works as a Special Government Employee – more here.)

And so it is with his other appointments who don’t require congressional confirmation.  Musk is one of them, and he too is always careful to point out that he and his DOGE team are in the business of identifying government waste, fraud, mismanagement, redundancy, and incompetence – apparently all the things that Democrats promote and benefit from in the operation of our deep administrative state.  Musk tells everyone his job is to identify the problem, its scope, priority, supportive evidence, and possible fix; and then present that to the President.  It is the President who then determines what should be done next, not Musk.

The Democrats, whose actions are always an amalgam of stupidity and evil, continue to lie to their constituents, telling them that it is actually Musk who’s in charge and making the executable decisions.  And, of course, one of the qualifications for an American to be such a  constituent is to always believe the bilge that issues from their Schumers, Pelosis, Clintons, Bookers, Schiffs, … .

My disappointment with the media lies with the conservative side, especially Fox News.  They have yet to detail the hypocrisy and lies when reporting on latest progressive outrage from some street corner or talking heads on MSNBC or CNN or … .  They simply leave the argument hanging instead of clarifying the matter for their audience.

TrumpMusk2025

I want to end with the photo showing Trump sitting calmly at his Resolute Desk while Musk stands nearby with his 4-year-old son explaining some recent DOGE initiative to the press assembled in the Oval Office.  The Dems claim this to be a picture showing historical presidential weakness, and confirming that it is Musk who is really in charge.  To the rest of us it is a display of comfortable and confident power.  The President sitting at his desk quite sanguine about letting one of his lieutenants have a moment in the sun while his position in the administration’s leadership hierarchy is confirmed by the top gun, known by the world to always be in charge of all that he surveys – he need not flaunt anything in the manner of weaker leaders.

According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!
    https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1891350795452654076
    Age – Number (Mil)
    00-09 – 38.8
    10-19 – 44.3
    20-29 – 48
    30-39 – 52.1
    40-49 – 47.6
    50-59 – 45.7
    60-69 – 46.3
    70-79 – 33.4
    80-89 – 15.1
    90-99 – 6
    100-109 – 4.7
    110-119 – 3.6
    120-129 – 3.4
    130-139 – 3.9
    140-149 – 3.5
    150+ – 1.5
    397.9M total.
Two things- total bucket numbers are 60M above the 339M population.
Who are the folks in the >150 bucket? Dianne & Maxine??
Evidently these numbers were pointed out by the GAO in 2015, but eliminating the bogus ones was too difficult. And you wonder why some programmers were fired???
The data may still be programmed in COBOL of course, hence the lack of knowledge of what to do.

    Hi George Rebane,
every now and then I take a look at your ruminations. Very often I am quite appalled by what you write about politics. I was also appalled again that you and JoAnn voted for Trump again, even though I had suspected this. I respected you for a long time as a very well educated Dr. Ing. (that’s the title you earned in German) and assumed you were very intelligent. However, in my opinion, it is not fitting for a supposedly wise, experienced and intelligent man to elect a convicted rapist and a denier of reality (the election was stolen from him in 2021) and a rabble-rouser to storm the Capitol. Trump is a liar who spreads so-called “alternative facts” (read: falsehoods). It recently culminated in his statement to the press that President Zelensky is a dictator who is unjustifiably in office, although martial law justifies his term of office according to the Ukrainian constitution. Trump also said that Ukraine had initiated the war. None of this is true. Russia (Putin) invaded the unspeakably suffering country in February 2022 without need! This so-called special operation has now been going on for almost three years and missile strikes and drones are dropped by Russia over the “violated country” on a daily basis. The Russians are mainly targeting civilian targets, children’s hospitals, schools, railroad stations, etc. In Russia, the people are being lied to by not being allowed to speak of war, but by calling it a special operation against Nazis. The government there imprisons and murders people who want freedom. A year ago, Navalny was murdered in a prison camp. Don’t you know anything about it? Have you not heard about Butsha (a suburb of Kiev), where Russian soldiers carried out a massacre? And now Trump makes Selensky the perpetrator and the murderer in the Kremlin the victim, calling himself chosen by God to save America. How can an intelligent person be in bondage to this man? I am shocked! Trump should have the courage to travel to Ukraine and take a look at Putin’s outrages. It’s outrageous what Trump thinks of this barbaric war of aggression. How can you, as a native Estonian who fled Estonia with his parents during the Second World War, approve of Trump, who now seems to want to hand over Ukraine to Russia and praise Putin? The fact that it is now once again permitted and desired in the USA to no longer correct or eliminate lies on social networks fills me with the greatest concern. A person with emotional intelligence should recognize the danger this poses. Trump and his entourage are a danger to democracy in the USA.
    Greetings

It is a step above a PhD in Education, as that field has very low standards.

I see that it’s a God-given law that the US should enter the war that Putin started and “win” the war.
Putin is a nasty piece of work who possesses nukes and like all Russian leaders going back centuries has zero qualms about slaughtering off large segments of his own population as well as other country’s.
I believe Truman “handed over” most all of Eastern Europe as well as a large part of Germany to a man who was far more brutal and ruthless than Putin.
All over the world there are rulers just as bad as Putin doing horrible things to millions of people. But suddenly Ukraine is all that matters and the US is the only country who should do something about it. As I recall, Germany is quite capable of assembling a formidable military who would be able to turn the tide of war in the Ukraine, but they have other problems such as their carbon dioxide output. Since this seems to be their over-riding concern, I would suggest they attend to it and keep their opinions of how our country conducts itself re Putin and Ukraine to themselves.

Germans love them their titles, dunno if it has anything to do with putting observation shelves in toilets.

It would be genuinely interesting to know what sort of craziness has hit European higher education. What’s their equivalent of DEI, wokeness, all the other trappings of modern religion? I assume that in the long run the whole subcontinent will be a tourist zone run by 3rd world immigrants as the buildings will remain.

In other news, on X, it’s good to see that it occurred to someone (the infamous Data Republican among others) to look at political contributions, ActBlue being the poster child for this. Sketchiness abounds, especially in the umpteen small contributions. Everyone is aware of this probably, but it’s always fun to look at.

So is it better treated as a criminal matter or some kind of 100 letter German word for defamation of character?
I don’t have any clue, so maybe Christel Rauber, Diplom-Psychologin (University J. W. Goethe, Frankfurt/Main February 1981) could give some insight on the matter.

The po ol ponytail of ignorance is confusing the agreement with policy numbers with Trumps personal polling. –

    Good choice –
Trump says he is nominating Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine to be the next chairman. Caine is a career F-16 pilot who served on active duty and in the National Guard, and had most recently served as the associate director for military affairs at the CIA, according to his official military biography.
Caine’s military service includes combat roles in Iraq, special operations postings and positions inside some of the Pentagon’s most classified special access programs.
