   That’s interesting. Will Newsom’s order include telling the Coastal Commission to butt out?
   I remember Brown saying that the CA High Speed Rail shouldn’t have to obey environmental rules because that would hamper the construction time line.
   This was after he spent years poo-pooing concerns private contractors had about the same problem with commercial projects. These leftys are so full of it.
   Meanwhile I see that the SoCal citizens are pissed at Bass and Newsom. Really. Were the actions that led these fine folks to get all upset done in secret? No.
   This is what “Your Democracy” voted for time and again. For decades. NOW you’re pissed. This is why I have little hope that the voters will truly change. They still don’t get that this current reveal of incompetence spans across the entire spectrum of govt in that once golden state. They truly are this stupid about everything under their control. The current crop may be trimmed, but a different bunch of bozos will end up in charge next.

    I’ll go just a little way out on a limb and forecast that the “student debt crisis” will be ‘managed’ by Trump by way of simply pointing out that there is no crisis.
    We have nerves that are pain receptors in order that we stop doing that which causes pain. People with leprosy can’t feel pain very well and tend to have damage to their bodies as a result. A population that can’t feel financial pain from poor decisions becomes a damaged nation.
    It is financially painful to make a large ticket purchase based on a poor decision.
    There are lots of people that have a mortgage on a house that isn’t worth what they paid for it.
    We don’t bail them out.
    This isn’t just vote-buying by the Dems – it’s protecting a racket run by the left who have taken over most of the education market in this country.
    This is just one more steaming pile of shit Biden has left for Trump and for the taxpayers.

Defense Secretary Gates once said I had been on the wrong side of every foreign policy decision for the last 40 years…I think it’s safe to stretch that a bit and include being on the wrong side of every domestic policy I was involved with as well!
    I was a plagiarist, a child sniffer, a daughter showerer, and for a time the banking conglomerate MBNA’s personal representative in the senate. History will remember me most for being a reliable Coin Operated legislator.
    I realize those things wouldn’t ordinarily be the that which one wants in a farewell speech but it should also be noted the Paul Raymond Emery of Nevada City, California thinks the world of me!

    DC and in turn our nation have been feasting on financial caffeine and sugar for decades but the high always needs a bigger hit so the Biden admin went for a strict doughnut and sweet roll diet and before they are levered out, just main-lining sucrose right into our economy. We are in for a financial jolt and it won’t be pretty. But it’s better now than later.
    Of course, if it gets bad enough to start hurting the important people, the call will go out for The New Deal II and some real money printing will start.
    I doubt 1 in 20 people have an understanding of basic economics. There are lots of economic theories, but only one reality. If you run a nation (or state or empire or whatever) on anything but the production of real value, you will eventually become a failed state.
    Lest anyone think I’m just doom and gloom – I’m sure that a govt controlled National Electronic Currency will be just the ticket. The feds haven’t even begun to tap into the trillions in assets held by private citizens. Betcha I die with a couple of billion in my bank account. That’ll cover my cremation costs minus the carbon tax expense. Who pays that won’t be my worry.

    It’s really odd to me that batteries of that type are used for mass storage. Given that there are no weight or size constraints on a facility, you’l think there’d be a cheaper/safer way to do it…even if there’s a greater round-trip efficiency cost.

    I can imagine there’s beaucoup Tesla fires in LA. Kind of a bad combination of toxins and hard-to-put-out, although I expect that a lot of modern materials are distinctly nasty when burning.
