    Hillbilly 10:02 – Sorry old chum. No one around here believed any of that for a second. The only magical thinking was on your side. Sadly it seems to continue even now.
    Trump has the Senate to approve his nominations but he will need the House to get the needed budget cuts pushed through.
    And remember – the Blob is still alive and kicking. Trying to get rid of just a smidgen of bureaucracy will be a tough row to hoe.
    Life will simply be better than if Harris had won. Not perfect and maybe not even good. There’s no magical thinking here.

    It never ceases to amaze me that 2 different brains (mine & Drew Magary’s) can have the same input info and come to diametrically opposite conclusions. Must be the advantages of diversity. Yet he doesn’t see it as an advantage for him. Go figure. Of course, I never took a course in journalism. Wait – maybe he didn’t either?
    I am expectantly awaiting the count of the number of primary votes that Kamala Harris receives in the spring of 2028. George, maybe can you run another contest to see who guesses closest to her final number? Winner gets to interview either Willie Brown or 13 of the illegal aliens entering the U.S. during her time as border czar. So you get 100% of Willie Brown’s time, or 0.0001% of the illegal aliens who invaded our wonderful, rich, country in the last 4 years. They just wanted to make it more wonderful and richer.

According to my lights, Kamala will disappear from the political arena and public eye in record time (after the January electoral vote count certification) if the Dems have anything to say about it. She has demonstrated her massive executive deficits, toxic character, and overall ignorance to join the nation’s historical untouchables. But then again, what do I know?

    The popular vote for pres in 2020 was 81.3M for Biden, 74.2M for Trump, total 155.5M.
    This year (as of late Wed.) Trump 72.3M, Kamala 67.6M. 139.9M total.
    So covid? may have unexpectedly killed off 15M voters, possibly all of them Democrats. Who knew Fauci was such a Hitler!
    On the 1st wish list for the end of January 2025 – fire a few of the DEI generals/admirals, prosecute Fauci & Hunter B, some of the 50 intel letter signers, Mayorkas, FBI folks – for a starter.
    A 2nd wish list – that the Repubs THIS time actually are with Trump; Trump actually LISTENS to at least 2 of his advisors.

    All I really knew was that there was some guy on the golf course, Iran something something, found out that election day was on election day. I’ll check, but I assume that nothing has changed in Ukraine. One lesson I’ve learned is just how poor AIs like Google Gemini are about simple facts. Long way to go on LLMs.
    It doesn’t take much to avoid the crazy people. Just stick to YouTube videos where they test hand tools to failure, watch old Time Teams. I’ve discovered the “Landmark” series of reprints (Julius Caesar commentary for one).
    I’ll probably skip all the post-game reports on why the election went the way it did (IT’S BECAUSe he GoT shoT at! they killed a squirrel! Harris is an idiot! (2020 proves that isn’t a disqualification.)) It’s like listening to ridiculous stock market analysis on why the market went up and down today.
    No doubt psul will stop by to explain why he was wrong.

    As close as I got to news was having KNCO on in the morning while I’m doing the crossword, you hear the dut duh dut duh of the ABC news intro, turn off the radio and start breakfast. Easy peasy.
    Now and again I’d hear Harris somewhere in the background, but her voice is so obnoxious, like a sort of ex-wife on steroids. It was always impossible to understand. It was like hearing a couple fight in the distance where you just hear the female, some trick of pitch and acoustics I guess.
    Avoiding Twitter is easy since it’s just a bunch of folks trying to get clicks…and that’s just the professional reporters. I did check it out this morning to do a bit of salt mining and ran into a picture of Antares, which was very cool.

    one last thing. A quick prediction (and likely wrong, but you never know).
    If the federal government is in Trump’s little soft hands, and he’s got plenty of warning about The Blob etc., what is the most likely countermove. It’s all about power in the final analysis.
    A guess. News media + Big Education firing up absolutely as much public turmoil as possible…maybe to the extent that pushback by the cops or feds is intended to be rough enough to push the public to Team Blue. I’ll bet there’s an absolute shit-ton of getting the rabble riled going on for the next year or so. Getting the National Guard to shoot at you is pure gold.
