[Kamala tells us we’re not going back to Trump’s bad old days. That means we’re not going back to historically low inflation rates, low interest rates, lower taxes, less regulations, secure borders, peace in the world, wages that outpace inflation, budgets to rebuild our military, fewer illegal aliens, … . Punchy,
I don’t like Oliver whatshisface. I listened to him speak and read his words. Not a candidate with positions and habits that I look for in a Libertarian candidate for President. He did not impress me as a standard bearer for the LP, and he’s come out as a big supporter of ranked choice voting, a monstrosity that I’d not want the LP to be tied to in anyone’s mind.
So, Punch, shut the fuck up. I don’t want to read your slanders anymore. I am not a Trump supporter and I will have words with you when I next see you.
We have unfinished business.

Green Libertarian belief is a philosophy not a political party fish. We believe we should not need a government to instruct us how to treat the earth. We should do it naturally without laws. If we don’t follow natures paths, well as the bible says “Earth Abides” and will carry on in it’s own path with no regard to human inhabitants. The story of Adam and Eve is a great beginning of a discussion on the topic.

“We believe we should not need a government to instruct us how to treat the earth.”
The entire “green” movement (and the Dem party) is based on NOTHING but govt rules and regulations of how we should conduct our lives and businesses in relation to the earth.
“We should do it naturally without laws”
“Nature” is filled with laws. The laws of physics, the law of supply and demand. Ignore them at your peril.
Saying what we “should” do is childish fantasy – we got kicked out of the Garden eons ago and woulda, coulda, shoulda is just a pipe dream.
“If we don’t follow natures paths,”
I can see why he’s a Harris fan – nothing but vacuous BS.
“Nature’s path” is anything you want it to be. Dog eat dog. See something you want and just take it.
We live in a civilization that is highly developed and complex. Deal with reality, please.
As I have said many times before – “green libertarian” has got to be the all-time best definition of oxymoron out there.

Paul 4:00 – That would depend on what your definition of “need” is.
In the absolute sense of the word “need”, clearly we don’t.
I’d love to have Paul explain “We should do it naturally without laws”.
But he won’t because it’s just virtue-signaling blather. Just what is “naturally” in this case? Animals “naturally” stand and piss in the water they drink – is that what you mean?

Animals naturally over populate themselves then suffer near or complete extinction. We as human beings are also animals and could suffer the same fate due to our abuse of the earth. Sad but true buts that’s why we have to have laws to insure our survival.
I’m sure you agree with me on that observation.

“and could suffer the same fate due to our abuse of the earth.”
Nope.
Most large scale human die-offs are due to governmental action of some sort. If humans become extinct it won’t be because we “abused” the earth.
Not sure what the hell earth-abuse is. If I dig in the ground in my back yard is that abuse?
The last “natural” event that caused a lot of human deaths was Krakatoa. Nothing to do with anything humans did. If a decent sized meteorite slams into the earth we could very well have a mass extinction event. It’s happened before and the earth just kept on doing its thing.
I think you are (like most green weenies) confusing “harming the earth” with – “I like to see nice trees and bunny rabbits and have things the way they are”.
There’s a big difference.
As far as needing laws – could have sworn you just said you don’t want to have any laws.
That would be anarchy. I like laws that protect the rights of myself and others and protect me from authoritarian govts.

“…lifestyles that protect the earth but we don’t.”
You keep talking about “harming” the earth and “protecting” the earth but you won’t tell anyone what you’re talking about.
I ask again – if I stick a shovel in the ground, does that “harm” the earth? Is a volcano going off “self-harming” by the earth?

I was because the valley was flooded with dirt runoffs as a result of hydraulic mining. Do you support the illegality of hydraulic mining Scott?
Here’s some information as to why it was made illegal:
“The farmers, tired of having to incur huge losses as a result of the mining activities upstream, came together in support of a property owner in Marysville named Woodruff who filed a lawsuit against the North Bloomfield Mining and Gravel Company in 1883. The case was decided in January 1884 with Judge Lorenzo Sawyer declaring that hydraulic mining is illegal.
This was the first environmental related judgment in the United States. This Judgment was responsible for putting an end to the use of hydraulic mining in the Californian gold fields. This effectively ended the gold mining at the Malakoff Mine.” More here:

“The valley was a mess”
No – it wasn’t. The Sacramento/San Joaquin Valleys are nothing but dirt and silt and rocks that came from the hills and mountains around them.
The “problem” had absolutely nothing do do with “harming the earth”. It had to do with property/structure loss due to flooding.
Paul keeps talking about “harming” the earth but it’s now clear he has no idea of what he’s talking about. If I so much as scratch your skin, I’ve harmed you.
If Paul isn’t going to define what “earth harm” is then the discussion is finished.
I’ll assume Green Libertarian is just a BS term and has whatever meaning it needs to in any given situation. 9/10s virtue signaling and a smattering of whatever is picked up from the moist finger in the wind.

No destructive to the Valley Gregory and Scott? Check out this:
Hydraulic mining during California’s gold rush was probably the most destructive environmental practice in the state’s history.
“By the 1870s, the catastrophic consequences of hydraulic mining were impossible to ignore. Downstream communities, most notably Marysville and Sacramento, suffered frequent and devastating floods exacerbated by mining debris. Agricultural lands were rendered useless by layers of sterile slickens, and fish populations in rivers dwindled alarmingly. The long-term health impacts of widespread mercury contamination are still being understood today.
The tension between the mining industry and the downstream farming communities ultimately culminated in the landmark case of Woodruff vs. North Bloomfield Gravel Mining Company in 1884. This case, presided over by Judge Lorenzo Sawyer, resulted in the famous “Sawyer Decision,” which effectively banned hydraulic mining due to its destructive environmental impact.
But while the Sawyer Decision marked the end of large-scale hydraulic mining, the scars left on the landscape of Northern California are far from healed. The evidence of this destruction is still visible in the stark, eroded hillsides and vast debris fields of Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park in Nevada County, once the site of California’s largest hydraulic mine.”

Are you okay with the homeless, living on the streets, fouling our cities’ sidewalks, parks and wildland areas, the lessening of criminal penalties by Prop 14, espoused by progressive DAs like Gascon in LA and Bedouin (hope I spelled that right)in SF, the public drug sales and usage on our streets and the daily acts of depravation on the streets of our communities in Nevada County and California.
So, by your silence, it seems that you and your progressive friends condone what is happening in our communities.
