    I saw a funny observation on Twitter. Biden, after 36 years in the Senate, wants term limits for Supreme Court justices.

    I was doing a bit of idle research on Colleen Kollar-Kotelly and the people she sent to jail for sitting in an abortion clinic as a protest. Ooofta. You can really see the steel hand in the glove in this case.

    Of course, through the magic of elderly teleprompter reading, the number moved from 5% to $55.
    One thing that Joe Biden managed was to make Hillary Clinton look a lot better. It took a half-bright extremely venal old man to allow the huge expansion of DEI and unlimited immigration. Probably the best analogy is that of criminal caretakers moving in with a sick old person. The checks get altered and the family silver starts disappearing.
    The cool thing is that he’s a coin flip away from being President again. I figger it’s a tossup. The Spice Must Flow to his backers and they all have hungry mouths to feed. Plus, you know who all the insane people are going to vote for after they attend Drag Queen Stripper Pole Story Hour at the local elementary school.

    I think the Dems are trying to gauge whether or not the news and social media can transform Harris from Cackling Hyena to the “smartest person in the room” in time for the election. Keep in mind there’s already a about 40% of Dems who will vote for her regardless.

    DETROIT (Reuters) -Ford Motor on Thursday outlined plans to use a Canadian plant it had earmarked for a future electric vehicle to instead build larger, gasoline-powered versions of its flagship F-Series pickup truck.
    Ford in April had already delayed the launch of the planned three-row electric SUVs at its Oakville Assembly facility from 2025 to 2027, citing slower than expected growth in EV demand.

    While the Dems and the GOP squabble over who will be piloting the US Ship of State as it sinks to the bottom, Britain prepares to go left with more taxes and regulations – if Labour gets its way.
    Also planned – re-nationalization of the rail system.
    And there will be plenty of green energy and it will be cheap. And the NHS will be put “back on it’s feet”.
    Oh, bravo!
    Of course Starmer warned this will take time – possibly sometime after he’s out of office and living abroad…

    I was just thinking about the Constellation and Artemis program this morning, along with the Presidential race.
    Naturally, the US space program appears to be an utter mess. Dunno if it’s a matter of metastasizing bureaucracy, DEI, or simply the nature of money flowing through many hands, but it appears to be no way to run a railroad.

    Now that E. Musk has gone full-Trump, and given that Mars appears to be his aim regardless of means, I sure wish I’d been at the meetings working through future plans. My guess is that he’s made the decision that SpaceX can go it alone if necessary, as the nature of US politics implies that a (D) victory simply means all the money goes to Boeing regardless of quality of result. It sure would be funny if they did a moon landing on their own much less go through the whole design effort of interplanetary travel. We’ll see.

    The continuing efforts to virtualize political campaigns, from the 2020 Biden Basement Campaign to small things like the fake RNC background behind MSNBC worthies, the pre-written (and practiced) questions to ask President Potato a few weeks ago, or even the successful hiding of Biden’s disabilities for years shows how far we’ve come from 19th C. campaigning. In days of yore, those guys were expected to go from town to town to town giving ad lib speeches lasting hours. People seem to have had longer attention spans I suppose, but generally I’d say that candidates for the President or Congress were more well educated (and smarter) on average than now.
    Enjoy Trump since he’s probably the last man standing from that era of doing things. Speeches with no notes, endless barnstorming. Not such a bad way to do a job interview to the people.

    “Bangladesh’s top court has scrapped most of the quotas on government jobs that had sparked violent clashes across the country that have killed at least 100 people.
