[Check out the next advance in AI generated video as demonstrated by Sora, OpenAI’s text-to-video model.  The technology has now advanced to where the machine can create a realistic and natural looking video from a textual description as its only input.  Take a look at some samples here.  So, during this election year what would Biden have Trump say, and conversely, what would Trump have Biden say to the American people?  (H/T to correspondent)  gjr]

Paul – “I’m adding this to the collection of threats to my life you have made against me.”
Will those go into the scrap book with the photos of you and Ann Coulter?

I’m adding this to the collection of threats to my life you have made against me.
Have they all involved Gregory asking for permission?

Gregory – “You’d take typepad over me?”
I pointed out that typing in ‘TypePad’ shows a misspelling. Look at the bottom of the page. Powered by “misspelled word”.
Not sure what blue-haired old prune is in charge of that squigly red line.
‘squigly’ got a red underline – what the hell do they know?

Are you saying that this statement is not a threat on my life by you?
“Punchy, do I have your permission to shoot you one or more times? Entry hole size can be as small as 5.56mm or as large as .45”.
You are asking me for permission for you to kill me. Pretty serious stuff. I will be seeking legal advise on how to proceed.

Save it. Gun grabbers want to disarm Americans. Logic and facts have no sway with them.
After the latest edition of Sailer’s Law in Kansas City, Biden was quick to start yapping about ‘assault weapons’.

Well duh we all knew what the end game is –
“It is unconscionable that illegal immigrants and noncitizens are counted toward congressional district apportionment and our electoral map,” said Hagerty.
“While people continue to flee Democrat-run cities, desperate Democrats are back-filling the mass exodus with illegal immigrants so that they do not lose their seats in Congress and maintain electoral votes for the presidency and hence artificially boost their political power, which in turn dilutes the power of other Americans’ votes,” he added.
Shortly after taking office in January 2021, President Biden signed an executive order requiring that the U.S. Census Bureau factor in all residents, including noncitizens, as part of its decennial calculation of the U.S. population. As a result, the apportionment of House seats and, therefore, electoral votes for presidential elections, could be swayed as migrants continue to pour over the southern border.

Found this WSJ article through Drudge:
“Dave Ramsey Tells Millions What to Do With Their Money. People Under 40 Say He’s Wrong.”
    https://www.wsj.com/personal-finance/dave-ramsey-tells-millions-what-to-do-with-their-money-people-under-40-say-hes-wrong-56733630
Yeah – you’re broke and he’s wealthy, so he must be wrong. Best line:
““Moralizing financial decisions is very damaging to marginalized groups,” says Israel, who is Black.”
Funny. “Marginalized People” are constantly moralizing about MY money.
The main takeaway is that these are the same folk that complain the “rich” have all the power and money while they reject Ramsey’s advice to stop handing their money to these same rich people.
They carp about “equity” of results and outcomes, but don’t want the responsibility or work put into the “equity” you have to engage in to achieve the results.
But, don’t worry – just vote for the Dems and they’ll make sure you can sit on your ass and end up at Big Rock Candy Mountain.

I would recommend Craiyon for some one who wants to try their hand at some AI stills for free. It does better at some kinds of images than others but it’s fun to play with.

lol. That’s exactly the quote I was going to pull. I see that she is also a “International Fact-Checking Network certifier” whatever that is.
I can feel her pain to some extent since private equity firms appear to be in the forefront of stripping Nevada County of a high tech sector, but I tend to think of them as a symptom, not a cause. Where there’s a buyer, there’s a seller, and when a business or industry is on it’s way down they’ll tend to sell out to these guys while the getting is good.
It would be interesting to go through the accounting books for a local newspaper over the last 100+ years, look at the headcount, compare the product. Their modern websites are always utter dreck, a wasteland of PITA advertising/bidding for eyeballs and free ‘concerned citizen’ editorials, but it would be interesting to look for changes. Modern people simply don’t read much anymore, aside from small paragraphs of Twitter/Reddit/Tiktok wisdom and wherever Psul gets his outrage o’ the day, so there is that.
Of course, the real problem is that you have to provide a product people will actually buy and the Big Slot Machine of modern media is ‘free’.

While I can see the damage that will be done to commercial artists, it’s not dissimilar to the carnage wrought by Adobe Illustrator and the LaserWriter in terms of wiping out print shops with a flood of ‘good enough’ amateur work.
My guess is that the first world to be really messed with in a jobs sense, once the tech is digested, is video games. It’s a helluva lot bigger than the movie or music business and is well equipped to deal with changes in approach I think.
Of course, the internet will be ever more enshittified, but SEO and it’s allies have been pretty darned automated for some time already.

My best guess is that that means “left wing media outlets need to exist because Nazis” and “if they are failing, they need government funding”.
I’m not certain how centralization of ownership is different than William Randolph Hearst, but people tend to be outrage if there own peculiar bias isn’t reflected in some popular mass media.
Naturally, the price of constructing and publishing your own local newsletter is near-zero if you value your time as worth zero.
Perhaps the Sierra Business Council could whip up a position paper on how the county government needs to fund The Nevada County Climate Change Pride People of Color Times. You can’t beat a non-profit for providing profits.

It will go way beyond that. Once you reduce the financial and skill barrier down to almost zero, the mind reels as to what our electronic world will be filled with. Consider the jump in a person’s world experience from pre radio and TV to the present. The next jump will be way faster.

    Seen elsewhere……da is funny.

”New York’s convicted Donald Trump for a “crime” that exists under New York law but in no other state, i.e., he was convicted of fraud for overvaluing (in the state’s opinion) the value of real estate on a loan application despite the fact that a.) the lender does not consider the value the borrower states in deciding whether to make the loan and b.) the lender said Trump’s assets were sufficient to assure them he would repay it, which he did. He was convicted of fraud although no fraud occurred.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul attempted to reassure business owners in New York that they have nothing to fear after the state’s Attorney General fleeced $355 million from President Trump for running a business in the state.
Hochul told John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM where she was asked if other New York businesspeople should be worried that if “they can do that to the former president, they can do that to anybody.”
According to Hochul: “I think that this is really an extraordinary unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior.”
Hochul was telling other businessmen not to worry because this obscure law, with which no one has previously been charged under such circumstances, is being used only against Donald Trump. It is a sort of Bill of Attainder. No one who is not Donald Trump need worry. Only, how can they not worry when a state supports this level of corruption? Watch more corporations move to safer climes.”

It’s entertaining watching the blue state lack of self-control. They really can’t control themselves when it comes to anything having to do with Bad Orange Man!

oh, I understand that. I was thinking about low hanging fruit in terms of the arts. Music composition and production will be hit a treat also, especially given the mechanized angle that pop tunage already has in how it’s constructed. Next up will be copyright wars decided by robot judges.
I think the funniest near-term angle will be the changes to bullshit business jobs, like all those ‘business consultant’ 28 year olds you see on youtube’s ‘A Day in My Life at Facebook’. Powerpoint slides will be converted into a page of prose, a page of prose converted back to bullet items, all of it plausible non-useful nonsense. Whole divisions of companies can be automated, communicating with each other in a great big singularity of emailed spreadsheets, charts, and reports. A feedback loop of boilerplate. Seriously, the SBC needs to look into this as a business practice, maybe staff cuts are in the offing.
