The ongoing debate in the Swamp about how to fix the border comes down to two competing bills โ€“ HR2 and the Senate's โ€˜bipartisanโ€™ travesty being foisted on the unknowing.  The only true border security bill is HR2 as illustrated in the graphic comparison below provided by the Heritage Foundation.

Truly a headline penned for our Punchyโ„ข……

    OUT: IF YOU WANT A โ€œSECURE BORDERโ€ IT MEANS YOUโ€™RE A RACIST.
IN: Biden: โ€œThe Only Reason the Border is not Secure is Donald Trumpโ€ฆโ€

It’s remarkable how non-lifelike the DNC and his handlers make him look!

Relatively useless chart but thatโ€™s Heritage for you.
Republicans have been screaming border, border, border.
Along comes a bill and they defeat it.
It is almost as if it had to be perfect in all ways for everyone or they were going to hate itโ€ฆ
โ€ฆeven though they could have taken what was given and then written up additional legislation that addresses issues.
Obviously they still bend the knee to Emperor wannabe Trump.
Republicans own the border crisis now.

Biden opened the border in 2021. I would think that Biden as a show of good faith would execute the laws on the books before making new laws. Otherwise it is extortion

“Biden opened the border in 2021.”
Of course he did. As a practical matter, his most active (and loudest) supporters are in favor of essentially unlimited immigration from non-Western countries. Occasionally you’ll hear weasel-words from older ‘liberals’, but they aren’t 30 year old Biden Administration staff members or The Squad members of Congress.
The thing is that the issue is not legal vs illegal immigration, as ‘legal’ is one part current law and one part executive branch policy and is subject to radical change, but simply the number of people. While I realize that the notion of ‘if you invite Country XXX, you become Country XXX’ is racist, it’s also the truth.
Western Europe is the test case due to birth rates in parts south of there, but they’re used to war. It should be a pretty wild ride but may take a while. Given the philosophical suicide of Western Civ, my own suggestion is a full accelerationist mode for AI. The results will be more unknown and less boring.

    From Politifact,
    (AP)
“A defeated bill, a trail of falsehoods
A bipartisan bill that would have tightened border security and curbed illegal immigration came to naught this week, failing in the U.S. Senate. The collapse spoiled months of negotiations amid a fog of GOP complaints and falsehoods.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who had promised the measure was โ€œdead on arrival,โ€ said President Joe Biden didnโ€™t need the bill because immigration law and Supreme Court precedents already give presidents the authority to stop entries. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise falsely said the measure would let thousands of immigrants into the United States. And X owner Elon Musk said the Democrats had planned all along to allow illegal border crossings to gain an electoral advantage.
On X, Johnson quoted section 212(f) of the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, which says presidents may “suspend the entry” of or impose restrictions they “may deem to be appropriate” if someoneโ€™s entry “would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.”
But immigration experts told PolitiFact that although the power vested by section 212(f) is broad, it canโ€™t be used to override other parts of immigration law.
Scalise posted his disapproval on X after details of the deal went public, saying, “Hereโ€™s what the people pushing this โ€˜dealโ€™ arenโ€™t telling you: It accepts 5,000 illegal immigrants a day.โ€ The bill would have raised the legal standard to pass initial asylum screenings, expedited the asylum process, funded additional detention space and compelled the Homeland Security secretary to use an emergency authority to bar people from requesting asylum if officials record 5,000 encounters a day over seven consecutive days. But thatโ€™s not the same as accepting 5,000 people into the U.S. daily. We rated the claim False.
Musk posted about immigration frequently before the vote. On Feb. 2, he wrote, โ€œBidenโ€™s strategy is very simple: 1. Get as many illegals in the country as possible. 2. Legalize them to create a permanent majority โ€“ a one-party state.โ€ Earlier, Musk wrote, โ€œThe long-term goal of the so-called โ€˜Border Securityโ€™ bill is enabling illegals to vote!โ€
But the path to U.S. citizenship, which is required for voting in federal elections, can take a decade, so the current influx of immigrants would not lead to a significant number of new voters for many years, if ever. And, experts told us, even when immigrants become voting citizens, it doesnโ€™t mean the United States will become a one-party nation. Muskโ€™s claim is False.
President Donald Trump, who called the bill โ€œa betrayal of America,โ€ tried to distance himself from Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford, one of the billโ€™s lead negotiators. In an interview with conservative podcast host Dan Bongino, Trump said he “did not endorse” Lankford (which is false; Trump endorsed him in 2022).
In Oklahoma, he said, “I won 77 out of 77 counties. Ronald Reagan is second with 56.”
Although Trump did win every Oklahoma county, he is far from the first to do so. George W. Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney preceded him in sweeping the stateโ€™s counties. Reagan also did better than Trump said he did. In 1980, Reagan won 58 Oklahoma counties; in 1984, he won 74.
We rated Trumpโ€™s claim Mostly False.
We’ll continue to monitor the fallout and what this means for foreign aid.”

Anyone that actually believes that is a fool.
But it keeps the goobers amused, so it served its purpose.

Maybe political scientist and all around genius Scotto can explain why the bill would not do anything to increase border security and curb illegal immigration.
Your post is evidence that your MAGA brainwashing has been effective.

The 5000 a day number may be only Mexican illegals, and they may be only 10% of the walkers to the southern border recently.
    The border bill stank.

Idiot Juanita – “…all around genius Scotto can explain why the bill would not do anything to increase border security and curb illegal immigration.”
Bills don’t “do” a damn thing. We already have laws about enforcing the border that Biden and Co. are ignoring.
The bill is so shot through with provisions for exceptions and exemptions it isn’t funny.
We don’t need any sort of border bill at all. We simply need a fed govt that will do its job to secure the border.

    Individual Jeffie,
The “bill” was a hodgpodge stitched together to put immigration and Ukraine and Israel and Hamas together under the covers in such a way to get votes.
It didn’t get the votes. It seems to have your vote… why?

Well, there’s a novel point. Maybe the .gov could just enforce existing law. If the law turns out to be ridiculous, change it.
lol. That’ll be the day. It wouldn’t allow the activists in the executive branch to just decide any old thing. The Beast has been centralizing for well over 100 years.

Just saw a clip of Biden admitting the border isn’t secure. Of course he’s blaming Trump, but gee whiz – hasn’t the Biden admin been telling us for months the border is secure and the “problem” is just MAGA propaganda?
Of course now Biden is promising to actually secure the border but only if we hand him more money.
    And Idiot Juanita believes him.
