C’est la vie. He did seem to be perfect modern President material, being a businessguy in that current grifty, BS, highly-leveraged mode, although I’d go for Elizabeth Holmes as the ideal head of state for the modern US. I suppose it’s all just an extended job interview for VP candidate.
This should be a good one. Lots of hullaballoo and charges and countercharges and countercountercharges between the fascist camp and the transgendercommunist camp. Trump wings it and Biden reads that thing they put in front of him. Good times. In the final analysis, you get two choices:
1. Biden wins. Things keep going to hell.
2. Trump wins. Things keep going to hell plus you get nationwide violence (for a good cause of course).
It’ll make great TV in both cases. Hopefully the HAL-9000 awakens on an Amazon or Google server and livens things up a bit.

Pretty darned true once you wander outside the Beltway. Between BlackrockVanguardStateStreet, Hollywood and it’s relatives, university management, etc. the lock is pretty much on I think. Naturally, if you’re part of that hivemind, it just represents ‘logic’ and ‘fairness’ and ‘the future’ and whatnot.
National voting is just a bit of the puzzle. While there’s groups that currently hit way above their weight due to hugely partisan backing of politicians (popping to mind are homosexual men, some ethnic groups, unmarried white wimmen), the whole deal strikes me as a rather wobbly coalition. Dunno if a combination of grift and resentment has legs as a philosophy although it’s currently good fodder for research papers.
If you tear down both traditional families and self-sufficiency in making your daily bread, something has to take it’s place. There’s a Law of Political Vacuum at work here.
Lacking the excitement of Robot Overlords, the best to be done is to stay out of the way of the crazy people and, to keep your self-respect if nothing else, donate as little as possible to keep the machine running. The cash extraction used by unavoidable taxes (property for one) to keep bureaucrats and non-profits in good nick is a bummer, but other than that most of the ‘activists’ and related riff-raff can be kept at arm’s length. Typically, the Internet is what invites them into your house and is under your control.

I got curious what the deal is here. I’ve never heard of ‘Greg Locke’ and was wondering where these peculiar non-stories were coming from. Some Google searching merely turns up the Tennessean article, which is hardly national news.
Maybe Twitter. A quick look there shows a scad of medium large accounts who made that post along with a bon mot or two about God and the like.
It’s an interesting thing. Are these real accounts? or some sort of DNC subgroup writing bots? Most of them rhyme, honestly. Almost always a Ukraine flag and/or a Pride flag. Every few hours some new anti-Trump/pro-Biden/etc. post. Both ‘sides’ do this sort of thing of course, you can see how online mobs get riled up, but I don’t know how organized it all is. Online outrage and rebroadcast of important news items like ‘Greg Locke’ show how easily the feedback loop works in an online world. It also allows the mentally disturbed (men-in-dresses being a canonical but not unique example) to hit way above their weight. It’s a shame to watch people typing dreck in their basements drive the political machine, but there you go.
My ongoing idea for a Presidential campaign. Stick the candidate on stage, without notes, and say ‘go’. Talk for an hour or two about anything at all. Just about any pro politician from the 19th C. could do that, but the modern variety all have about the same abilities as the online mob.

Thinking about the FAA, and given that both Trump and Biden are symptoms, not causes, my guess is that the DEI programs go back to Trump or prior.

DB 5:07 – The “store scanner” story was baloney. Whatever you think of Bush, the story the press made of it was false. Bush was surprised because it was the newest type of 3D scanner that had just been put into operation in a very small percentage of stores.
The press falsely (what else is new) presented the photo as “Bush didn’t know what a laser scanner was”.
Biden was surprised at the 6 dollar smoothie because he is out of touch with reality. The BS by the idiot diversity hire the White House has shoved in front of the cameras is painful to watch. She doesn’t even try to answer the question with a pertinent reply. Instead she goes off into a non-related diatribe full of lies.

Actually – 6 bucks for a smoothie ain’t bad. Last Oct we were in Santa Barbara and I had to pony up $12 for a milk shake for my wife and that was at a walk up – no table service type of place. And no – it wasn’t on the beach or at some ritzy boardwalk kind of setting. It was downtown.
Our daughter and son-in-law lived in that town for years and they could barely recognize what has happened to the prices.
I guess some one has to pay the bill for the great weather.
