‘DEI’ is now the new politically correct attribute that replaces ‘Section 8’ that we have been using for decades.  Referring to that part of the 1964 Civil Rights Act for those reeeinving meritless assignments, promotions, and rewards served us well and irked to no end the liberal sponsors of such fractured public policies.  Now we can use the more acceptable ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ modifiers as in ‘The former Harvard president and plagiarist Claudine Gay got her job as a DEI candidate.’

The recent massacre of Iranians by ISIS demonstrates again that the ragheads love killing each other with perhaps even more gusto than they like to murder Jews.  I think the body counts bear out this conclusion.

The reason there are ‘food deserts’ in US cities was again demonstrated in Compton, CA.  There a mad max gang pillaged Ruben’s Bakery & Mexican Food when “a mob of more than 100 rushed into the store, stealing groceries, lottery tickets, and even meat scales, and causing further damage.”  Who today wants to invest their life savings in a retail business located in a Democrat controlled town where a “local small business that braves a rough neighborhood is rewarded with looting and destruction."

[8jan24 update] 'The Real Story of January 6th' is a 1.5 hour online movie produced by Epoch Times.  It's a bit scary to watch as it shows what our government now does to people whom they consider to be their political enemies.  And more scary to see how obvious self-declared anti-American rioters can loot, rob, burn, and riot in our cities with absolutely no recourse from the established authorities.

[9jan24 update]  Readers familiar with my advocacy of all things Bayesian, especially in the area of decision-making and evolutionary progress, will enjoy reading this piece – ‘Bayesian Inference: A Unified Framework for Perception, Reasoning, and Decision-making’ – in the online magazine Medium.  It provides some additional insights into how we (and other critters) are all basically Bayesian, whether we know it or not.

Here’s another gem from Trump showing his intelligence and knowledge of science:
The former president said at a rally that he was largely ignorant about magnets, raising the issue in connection with so-called “magnetic elevators.”
“They had an almost billion-dollar cost over on the magnetic elevators,” Trump said at the Iowa hearing on . “Think of it. Magnets. Now, all I know about magnets is this: give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets. That’s the end of the magnets.”

PaulE 849am – Give yourself a break Paul, you never want to compare the public bloopers of Biden and Obama to those of Trump. No contest as to who comes across dumber in the public forum. You are ignorant of those because the lamestream never covers them.

It isn’t even a blooper from Trump…. he’s talking about maglev elevators for new high rise buildings, that cause a billion dollar cost overrun.
Paul & Company morphed that into small permanent magnets that a child would play with because that’s his understanding of magnetism.

Once again Gregory this is Trumps precise quote:

Once again Gregory is showing his support of Trump. Some things never change. He also supports Trumps claim that injecting bleach is a cure for covid. He said this while President.
    George
How can you say something “dumber” in a public forum that this quote from Trump while President?
“So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that, too. It sounds interesting. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that.”

Uh oh – Paul’s off on another fantasy trip fabricating stories about Trump. He does have company in such endeavors. Liz Cheney is again braying that if Trump is returned to office he will eliminate all voting.
“…with Republicans telling themselves, ‘Look, we’ll vote for him, it won’t be so bad.’ It may well be the last real vote you ever get to cast. It will be that bad.”
Just how Trump could ever eliminate voting in the US is never quite explained, but the Biden butt-lickers are that stupid to sit and listen to such complete nonsense and not break out into derisive laughter.

Looks like 0 sees what we all see and its getting ugly for creepy grampa joe –
Obama has long harbored worries about Trump’s political strength, telling Biden during a different private lunch last summer that Trump is a more formidable candidate than many Democrats realize. He cited Trump’s intensely loyal following, a Trump-friendly conservative media ecosystem and a polarized country as advantages for the former president in 2024.

Booker? Interesting choice. I have narrowed it down to Trump, Ramaswamy, or RFK Jr. I am still listening, but I really like Vivek. My daughters love that he is reaching out to them. All three support the idea that we need to renew liberty in this nation and move away from the totalitarian ideology which seemed to creep into our system since the end of World War II.
Haley, Biden, and Christie are a hard no. They are all three clearly warmongers and, in my honest opinion, sociopaths.
If I had to pull the lever for DeSantis, I would, but I would never in good conscience vote for the other three. They are nuts and take this nation down a very dark path.

    re: magnets.
Thanks for the reference. It’s a tempest in a teacup I didn’t know about. Evidently there was some uproar in the Trump Whitehouse about that new catapult system.
Trump in 2019: ““We’re spending all that money on electric, and nobody knows what it’s going to be like in bad conditions,” which, naturally is what the ‘glass of water’ business is all about.

“The Navy previously identified an inability to readily
electrically isolate Electromagnetic Aircraft Launching System
(EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) components
to perform maintenance. This limitation will preclude
some types of EMALS and AAG maintenance during flight
    operations, decreasing their operational availability.”
It’s funny to watch Mr. Paul carry water for General Atomics, but being the King of Jackasses implies a certain amount of compromise when choosing your allies. Personally, I’d say that the merger between the political Left and the military-industrial complex is well along, maybe complete. It has to feel weird to Republicans, but they are not done with their civil war yet.

He’s not alone. Just look on Reddit or any other social media site filled with a meme-based echo chamber mob.
Here’s the thing that’s a crying shame. The whole topic of aircraft carriers is an interesting one. Super complicated, decades of inertia in design, decades of inertia in policy decisions leading to them. What do you do? I can imagine the meetings (with any President) as the cash sluices in an uncontrollable fashion.
Hey, maybe Trump is wrong for sticking his finger into a mid-program issue. I’m not terribly sure what the optimum way to drive the machine is, although they are highly likely to build one-too-many generations of all these systems.
Of course, ’round these parts, instead of a barroom conversation on big defense programs, or any other thing, everyone is treated to an enormous asshole shouting out headlines from The Outrage News and sucking all the air out of the room. Hundreds and hundreds (maybe thousands) of obsessive tweets on TRUMP! and GEORGE, ARE YOU SAYING THAT??! and GREGORY, DO YOU DENY?!! At least he’s got a short shelf life at this point in time.
