[Never lose your head, a matter of great practical wisdom, never to let it get away from you: it marks the great man, and of noble heart, for all greatness is hard to throw off balance.  The passions are the humors of the spirit, and their every excess makes sick the mind, it endangers the reputation.  Wherefore have such mastery over self, and be so strong, that nothing, either in the greatest fortune or the greatest adversity, can upset you, remaining superior even to the admiration of this feat.  Gracian #52]

re fishy 7:11 – Whining is pretty much all the Dems can do, now. The Dem mayor of Shit-cago is blaming “right wing extremist” for the mess the city is in. Apparently they “target” the city – whatever that means. I guess they have a voodoo doll or direct bad thoughts towards the city – who knows?
Biden is telling the corps they are “gouging” because the energy, material and labor costs for the corps are going up and these evil, greedy companies have the gall to pass the costs along to the consumers.
Biden claims inflation is going down – folks like Paul Emery are the target audience for that sort of idiot talk.
The govt desperately needs to inflate the money now to try and stay ahead of all the dough they need to borrow to pay for “entitlements”. Of course that means borrowers want higher rates of return on the bonds they buy – so round and round we go until the money is no good.
They’ll tell us it’s all Trump’s fault and move to Argentina.

Trump now refers to the insurrectionists who broke into into Capital hostages not prisoners.
β€œYou know that was? I call them the J6 hostages, not prisoners. I call them the hostages,” Trump said in the first moments of his speech at an offshore drilling company’s facility. β€œThey asked me whether or not I would partake and do the beautiful words. I said, yes, I would. And you saw the spirit, the spirit was incredible.”
    Here’s more from the atricle:
Jonathan G. Mellis, 35, pleaded guilty in June to felony assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon after using a large wooden stick to attempt to strike officers where their armor was weakest. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
William Chrestman, 49, a Kansas City-area member of the Proud Boys, pleaded guilty earlier this month to two felonies for his role in the riot – threatening to assault a federal officer and obstructing an official proceeding. Prosecutors said he played a key role in the attack and wielded an ax handle.
Marine Corps veteran Ryan Nichols, 32, took a plea deal earlier this month on charges of assaulting, resisting or impeding police and obstructing an official proceeding after prosecutors revealed images they said showed him spraying chemical irritants and wielding a crowbar in the rioting crowd. He called for dragging politicians through the streets, prosecutors said.
And Shane Jenkins, 45, was sentenced to six years in prison and three years of supervised release on Oct. 6 after being convicted of seven felonies and two misdemeanors. He threatened to kill Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to prosecutors. He used a tomahawk to smash the windows of the Capitol, assembled furniture to use as weapons and then used those weapons on law enforcement officers.”

    So he didn’t hit anyone.
“A Capitol riot defendant accused of attacking police officers with a stick on Jan. 6, 2021, is trying to convince a federal judge to let him out of the D.C. Jail, where he has been incarcerated for more than a year, insisting his girlfriend will make sure he stays out of trouble before his trial.”
    https://www.courthousenews.com/capitol-rioter-accused-of-hitting-cops-with-stick-promises-to-be-on-best-behavior-if-granted-pretrial-release/
Gee – a year in jail and still no trial? Sounds totally legit.
If that were an Antifa dude he’d get 10 days – if not just a fine.
And that’s if the DA even bothered to charge him.
Total double standard – which are the only “standards” the Dems have.

The average U.S. household needs an extra $11,434 per year just to maintain the same standard of living they had only a few years ago, before inflation hit record highs under the Biden administration.
A Tuesday CBS News Moneywatch report used government data to determine how much Americans paid to live in January 2021 compared to today, finding that the typical family just can’t compete with the 40-year record-high inflation.

It’s his job to handle emergencies Gregory and he did a lousy job managing Covid. Here’s an example of his “leadership”
    quotes:
β€œWe have it totally under control.”
β€” President Trump, in an interview, on Jan. 22
β€œWe have tested over 40 million people. By so doing, we show cases, 99 percent of which are totally harmless. Results that no other country will show, because no other country has testing that we have β€” not in terms of the numbers or in terms of the quality.”
β€” President Trump, remarks at the White House, July 4, 2020
β€œYou may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country.”
β€” Trump, in a news conference, on Feb. 25
β€œIt’s going to disappear. One day β€” it’s like a miracle β€” it will disappear.”
β€” Trump, in remarks, on Feb. 27
β€œAnybody that needs a test, gets a test. They’re there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful.”
β€” Trump, in remarks at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, March 6

China caused the disease, the mayors and governors shut down the economy. Trump tried to get people back to work and open the schools but the left and the Dems sat on their ass.

You claim “Because Trump didn’t “hand out” 7.5 trillion – congress did and if Trump had tried to veto it he would have been overridden.” Is completely false. There is no way the Senate and house would have had the two thirds vote to overide Trumps veto without Republican support. I thought you knew that.
    Here are the basics
By threatening a veto, the President can persuade legislators to alter the content of the bill to be more acceptable to the President. Congress can override a veto by passing the act by a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate. (Usually an act is passed with a simple majority.

The President is not a dictator and your fantasy that Trump could “threaten” congress into passing a balanced budget is hilarious. Congress has to keep the gravy train rolling so they can get re-elected. Only a handful of Rs even pretend to want to balance the budget.
