So George what you are proposing is that the US military actively engage in regional warfare far from our shores. Your proposal means that we have not yet learned the lesson to stay out of regional disputes. We failed miserably and lost thousands of lives in our miserable interventions in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and even Korea and “lost the war” in all of those regional conflicts.
