So Jeff… you really thought that I and others would be attracted to a “gun show” because we could buy a gun with no questions asked?
    On state owned property?
What kept you from hearing the arguments from the other side? The CRPA and NRA don’t bite and would have been happy to talk to you… and they would have been honest.

Probably a good idea not to hire anyone “graduating” from an Oregon high school.

Oregon just dropped all graduation standards, failing all of its students in the name of ‘equity’

Maybe a person could just send away for an Oregon diploma like the old Diploma Mills in the back of comic books and mens magazines!

The lies about the new green deal and so-called self-driving cars have been laid bare –
Now, a report from the New York Times has shed light on the fleet’s apparently not-so-autonomous driving. Workers have been remotely assisting Cruise cars every 2.5 to 5 miles in San Francisco, according to the outlet’s sources.
The company’s driverless vehicles have made a variety of high-profile errors in recent months, including when one hit a pedestrian and continued to drive for 20 feet with the person trapped underneath. According to the Times, Cruise’s operations staff is huge, employing one and a half workers per vehicle in San Francisco as of Oct. 24. All of this is getting expensive for Cruise parent company General Motors, which said on an October earnings call that it lost around $1.9 billion on the autonomous carmaker between January and September. Earlier this week, Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt told workers that layoffs could be coming, the Times reported

The big lie comes home to roost –
As Breitbart’s Rebecca Mansour warned before the 2020 election, Biden’s “rapid push towards an all-electric future would rob U.S. auto workers of the advantage of experience and U.S. auto plants of the advantage of previously built manufacturing capacity.” Without proper protections in place, electric vehicle battery manufacturing “will likely end up in China — just like all the rest of American manufacturing thanks to decades of failed trade policies like Joe Biden’s.”
Your New Dream Car Is… Expensive and Unavailable
Auto workers won’t be alone in their suffering. The ultimate victims of Biden’s polices will be American consumers. The average EV price paid leapt 22 percent, from around $44,000 to about $54,000, from 2021 to 2022. That far outpaced the already catastrophically high 14 percent inflation for nonelectric vehicles.
Now, consumers are slated to be hit by another disruption in the supply of new cars. The strike is expected to lead to parts shortages in the near term. Increased labor costs resulting from the union deal—arguably a net positive—will inevitably drive vehicle prices even higher still. There is a significant risk this will exacerbate a key underlying issue that led to the strike in the first place.
All of this chaos is so that Joe Biden could pander to environmentalists and the ESG oligarchs that make up his top donors.
EVs remain a luxury, and Biden has only made matters worse. In fact, he even seemed to embrace it. In November 2021, he took a 999-horsepower electric Hummer for a spin while he was on a GM factory tour. (You might recall he wore a ridiculous, anti-science cloth mask during the test drive.) The car’s base model caries a $108,700 price tag. However, that number is irrelevant for most people because the car instantly sold out, likely for years.

A hurricane in a teapot developing?
Headline from the CBC Nov 3-
“Scientists warn Earth warming faster than expected — due to reduction in ship pollution
Leading climate scientist James Hansen says ‘global warming will accelerate’”
The past five months have shattered global temperature records, taking scientists by surprise. Many are asking why.
A new study published in Oxford Open Climate Change, led by renowned U.S. climate scientist James Hansen, suggests one of the main drivers has been an unintentional global geoengineering experiment: the reduction of ship tracks.
As commercial ships move across the ocean, they emit exhaust that includes sulfur. This can contribute to the formation of marine clouds through aerosols — also known as ship tracks — which radiate heat back out into space.
However, in 2020, as part of an effort to curb the harmful aerosol pollution released by these ships, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) imposed strict regulations on shipping, reducing sulfur content in fuel from 3.5 per cent to 0.5 per cent.
Hansen said the IMO regulations, which were designed to reduce aerosol pollution, will have a long-term warming effect on the climate….
The reduction in marine clouds has allowed more heat to be absorbed into the oceans, accelerating an energy imbalance, where more heat is being trapped than being released….
    But not everyone agrees.
U.S. climatologist Michael Mann wrote a blog about the paper’s findings, saying, “[Hansen] and his co-authors are very much out of the mainstream with their newly published paper in the journal Oxford Open Climate Change. That’s fine; healthy skepticism is a valuable thing in science. But the standard is high when you’re challenging the prevailing scientific understanding, and I don’t think they’ve met that standard, by a longshot.”
Simons noted that Mann “hasn’t studied this at all.”
[personal note, my brain translated ‘understanding’ as ‘consensus’.]
So another climate model isn’t correct – not able to predict an INCREASE in temps when sulfur-related ship pollution is REDUCED?. What happens then when we reduce all ‘pollution’ into the atmosphere?
You know you are onto something when Mann says Jim Hansen is an idiot, and Mann gets the same words thrown back at him. And since when did the climate change supporters EVER say skepticism is a ‘valuable thing in science’?

From a 3-page comment letter by Hansen (27 Oct 2023) prior to publication of the above study – he says “IPCC climate analysis leans heavily on GCMs (global climate models), too heavily in my opinion”.
His short letter explains how he had to adhere to certain restrictions to even get his report published, which also includes a little-brown-nosing. https://www.columbia.edu/~jeh1/mailings/2023/HomePlanet.2023.10.27.pdf
    A best-seller by Jim Hansen-
“Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth About the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance to Save Humanity Paperback – December 21, 2010”
    Avail at Amazon $16; 2nd-hand only $1.25 + $4 ship.
Evidently the ‘last chance’ hasn’t occurred for at least 13 years. So buy it before the ‘last chance’ actually happens and you are left out in the cold. Or the hot.

If you haven’t been keeping up with graphene lately – It’s all super-sciencey.
Dec 22,2021 – Graphite Innovation and Technologies (GIT) uses graphene as the base for its strong, slippery and non-toxic hull paint. The coating helps prevent marine fouling when aquatic organisms such as barnacles stick to the hull thus improving the flow of water against the vessel, making it more efficient. The coating will be heavily tested on large vessels operated by Oceanex and Baffin Fisheries.
Also – Singapore-based ship management company, Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), has announced that it has teamed up with Canada-based coatings company Graphite Innovation & Technologies (GIT) to implement its graphene-based, biocide-free propeller coating across its fleet.
And to complete the graphene threes-a-charm:
ONE Condoms launches graphene-enhanced condoms. https://onecondoms.com/products/flex
“Guaranteed to reduce your sulfur emissions to zero.” Ain’t science great!
Opinion only, no subject was harmed during testing of the product.
