[Embracing conservatism within the ranks of the Republican Party is becoming harder by the day. And remaining a conservetarian therein is almost impossible. The California Repubs have issued a major retreat call to their members. They have announced the next capitulation from their party platform that is yet another “humiliation the more than 5 million registered Republicans still living behind enemy lines in the Golden State probably weren’t expecting, (and which) is an additional stab in the back from their own party. The California Republican Party recently released its regularly scheduled updates to the party platform (here), and, given the content of the changes, voters could be forgiven for mistaking it for the Democratic platform from a couple decades ago.” gjr]

This is from Breitbart no less
Former Attorney General Bill Barr said Thursday on FNC’s “Your World” that former President Donald Trump was warned by his lawyers his actions would lead to legal troubles.
Barr said, “I resigned on December 14 because I thought that at that point, the state votes were certified, and that was the end of the legal process.”
He added, “And I also didn’t like the way he was spouting the Big Lie. I thought that was irresponsible. But he took it much further than even I expected, or anyone expected. And during this time, he was being told by lawyers in the White House that if he kept on doing this, he would spend the rest of his life tangling with the criminal justice process. And that’s exactly what’s happened. He shouldn’t be surprised, and no one else should be surprised.”
Anchor Neil Cavuto said, “Well, the fact he didn’t drop things could lead to some to believe, and his people who defend him say, that he genuinely did feel that he was robbed and this was the good fight and the proper fight.”
Barr said, “Well, even if he did — and I’m dubious about that — but even if he did, that doesn’t mean you can use illegal meaning to rectify it. If you think the bank is unfairly keeping your money, there are many things you can do to get it back; You can’t go and rob the bank.”

Residue from the Maui fires:
Hawaii gov. Green pledges to ban ‘predatory’ land grabs – he doubled down on his vow to protect residents from predatory land grabs late Wednesday, urging outsiders not to make offers for burned-out homes and saying his attorney general is working to set up a moratorium on land transactions. He urged developers not to approach homeowners or their families with offers to buy, adding that it will be a “significant amount of time” before construction can begin.
“My intention from start to finish is to make sure that no one is victimized from a land grab,” Green said. “There are some legal challenges there, we are going to push right through those and make sure people don’t lose their land.”
So if you, a willing seller, want to make a legal contract with a willing buyer, for your property, you will be prevented from doing so. On the other hand, should the govt want to use eminent domain to take your land when you don’t want to sell, that may still be OK. Evidently you wouldn’t “lose” your land under eminent domain, but if you sold at market value to an outsider, you would be “losing” your land.
Note that the governor is ‘pushing through the legal challenges’ involved with stopping a legal contract.
Look for the population of Lahaina to mirror that of Paradise CA after their fire – that is, to plummet by 80% over the next 5-10 years.

It turns out that we might need just a wee more charging stations.
Duh.
I did some checking on the WWW and it turns out there are actually some green weenies that have come to realize their vision of an all electric future might just run into a few reality-based road blocks that they kinda forgot to actually think about.
“Uh – guys? Hey – uh, it looks like houses only have so much capacity at the main panel and we’re gonna need a coupla trillion to retro-fit all the houses and the neighborhoods.”

Shameless Democrat Graft ActsInflation Reduction Acts to rebuild all the busted ones in the field now.LikeLike
Don 6:03 – The big buzz about charging stations for travelers is actually missing the much larger issue. Whenever they have a story about the problems you might have when you travel they assume the day to day issue is all covered.
Sorta.
Heck – look on Amazon and you’ll find a plethora of charging stations for your garage.
Easy Peasy.
Yeah, no actually not.
They don’t plug into a 15 amp 120 volt outlet. They plug into a 50amp 220 volt outlet.
You got a lot of those all over your garage, right?
And you have one for all of your vehicles, right?
And your lawnmower and your ATV and your …
Don’t forget you “went green” and had your gas range and furnace converted to electric.
Your main panel is totally overloaded.
And the transformers in your neighborhood are totally overloaded.
Now that’s assuming you have a garage or off street parking on your lot.
Ever been to a big city like LA or Seattle?
Thousands upon thousands of cars out on the street every night – how do they get recharged?
Uh – little green fairies wave a magic wand over them?

As I recall Gregory you believed Trump when he stated that if he were President he would end the war in the Ukraine in 24 hours.

Former President Donald Trump explained his plan to secure peace in Ukraine within 24 hours of taking back the White House on Sunday, saying he would tell Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to make a deal.
Trump made the comments during an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo.
