[Here’s the latest goings on in our idiot nation. The leftwing lamestream media are cancelling Jason Aldean’s ‘Try that in a small town’ song that he recorded in front of the Maury County courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee. Why? Because they claim people are outraged by the song’s lyrics protesting progressive riots and criminality in general, and the choice of its venue as having been where a black man was lynched in the 1920s. Those outraged come from the eternally ignorant cohort of Americans who couldn’t identify the Atlantic Ocean on a world map, but somehow know such historical esoteria connected with an obscure mid-western courthouse. gjr]

Gregory @ yesterday afternoon.
Doing ok. Still showered with love, my baby sis and her husband just left to catch that big ole jetliner to carry them home. Guess I won’t die alone, friendless and angry, and mean. I don’t deserve such a display of love, but it keeps coming whether I deserve it or not. Mercy has always been a part of justice, IMHO.
Later this morning the nice Hospice lady comes by to do some sort of site check. Getting closer to the time when drugs and dope and pain killers are part and parcel of my diet. Nothing has brought me to my knees yet, but the generic Tyenol just ain’t cutting it like it use to, but carried me this far. But, miles to go before I sleep (as the poem goes).
I do feel that I must talk about my current status among the vertical as that is all folks want to hear. I would rather talk about…..the stuff Rebane’s Ruminations discusses, but that is just me.
Hi fish, scenes, Scott O, Dr. Rebane and our lovable but misguided sock puppets and the former news directors out there on the barren alien and hostile planet in cyberspace hyperspace.. Wonder if that is what Pink Floyd referred to as the dark side of the moon. Elvis is still in the building.
Dr. Rebane has beseeched me Tom share some thoughts on American healthcare and the clinical care. It ALL gets down to the luck of the draw. There are some good nurses and there are some lazy ass nurses who should seek another profession….like yesterday. I focus on nurses because nurses are the face of clinical care. And it is who draws the short stick for their 12 hour shift. Some are ‘it’s not my job’ and let the piss stay on the ground or don’t answer the red button when pushed. Others are Florence Nightingale on steroids. It’s hot and miss.
The best nurses walking the planet are the Philippineos (sp?’ that cared for me down in Carmichael at Mercy San Juan. Unbelievable. Talk about above and beyond! They were fantastic. Half custodian and half nurse, they left no stone unturned to kept me clean, cared for, and the type that come running. They even brought in a Phiipineo nurse after hours who used to me a hair stylist in his former vocation and cut my hair. That was when I still had hair to cut and that was not that long ago, lol. Only had my hair cut once since COVID started and the dude did and outstanding job….for fun and for free. Also made me real coffee from the nurses’ station. I felt the love. Not so with the Home Care nurse they send over last week. Lazy and worthless. She was supposed to change my Bed Sore Bottom dressing and wash and regoop the ouwie near my butt hole. The lazy girl just pulled back the dressing, took a peak by pulling on the dressing, then declared it done.
My current caregiver (my ex-wife and her husband who moved into the back bedrooms) did a better job of cleaning groping, and applying the dressing than that “nurse” ever did. In fact, I did a better job of knocking the Bed Sore on Bottom in half by myself! Just the luck of the draw. I did dump the service that Home Healthcare provided after that.
Well, enough about that. Rest assured that I now look worse than punchy, a feat few have accomplished and the man in the mirror looks as dead as punchy looks. ‘.

I found that trying to pigeonhole by race was pointless….I had a black nurse who was just wonderful and a male white guy who I’m pretty sure my wife knifed in the hallway after he came in and “hand waved” over me!
I found the nurses to be wonderful in general!
But remember ….we who are not progressive just have to be racists regardless of the behavior, skill and professionalism of the non-whites around us.

Former Attorney General William Barr outlined his thoughts on his former boss Donald Trump’s indictment for the 2020 election plot in an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins today.
Barr stated that he didn’t think the Trump legal team’s First Amendment defense to the case would hold up.
“I really don’t think that’s a valid argument,” said Barr. “As the indictment says, they’re not attacking his First Amendment right. He can say whatever he wants. He can even lie. He can tell people that the election was stolen when he knew better. But that does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy. All conspiracies involve speech, and all fraud involves speech. So free speech doesn’t give you the right to engage in a fraudulent conspiracy.”
“Do you think he knew that he lost the election?” asked Collins.
“Do I personally believe that?” Barr replied. “At first I wasn’t sure, but I have come to believe that he knew well that he had lost the election, and now what I think is important is the government has assumed the burden of proving that. The government in their indictment takes the position that he had actual knowledge that he had lost the election and the election wasn’t stolen through fraud. And they’re going to have to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Paul 8:26 – “but I have come to believe that he knew well that he had lost the election”
That has no bearing on reality, Paul. It doesn’t matter what Barr or anyone else believes.
The govt has to prove that Trump didn’t believe he should have won a fair election.
The conspiracy charge will hang on the govt proving that Trump knowingly intended to break the law. They’ll need a jury full of Trump haters. If the trial is in DC, that won’t be a problem.
BTW – where is the insurrection charge?

It was less than 2.5 T before Covid. The rest was money printing to cover for something Trump had zero control over. If Trump had refused to sign the budget during Covid, he would have been over-ridden.
The debt problem started long before Trump and looks to continue off into the future until the dollar collapses.

The thing that always makes it more suspicious is the Dems immediately go to a stupid lie about the photo of Obama with a black eye and his knuckles bandaged. They claim he often “tapes his hand” when playing golf. And try to ignore his eye problem. Total BS. You don’t tape your hand to play golf – you wear gloves. And his hand wasn’t taped – his knuckles were. If there is nothing nefarious, why the instant lie? And like the 2 Paul Pelosi stories, we get several versions and people that won’t ever be identified that were present at the time of the incident.
I have no idea what happened at Obama’s place but clearly it’s something they want to cover up for some reason. It could be just general stupidity that ended in tragedy, but hiding the truth is never the correct way to engender trust. I don’t want to hear any blubbering about “conspiracy theorists”. When you try to lie, you invite all manner of nonsense to fill the narrative gap.

OK – so they can’t tell the difference between taping a hand and the fingers of the hand.
Still have the problem of the differing stories, where the Obamas were, who was out paddle boarding with the dead guy. Why the police call was not like the others, why the location was not the Obamas house and Paul – does Obama give himself a black eye when he plays golf?
Why can’t we just get a straight honest story right off the bat?
Why the secrecy?

“The 5th Circuit’s decision noted that the rule was challenged on two fronts, the first being that the ATF failed to follow proper procedure by giving public notice of one version and then implementing a different final version with a broader application.
Because the court sided with the plaintiffs on the administrative procedural challenge, determining they would likely succeed on the merits at trial and that they meet the requirements for injunctive relief, the court stopped short of addressing the constitutional challenge. However, Justice Don Willet wrote in a separate concurring opinion that he suspects the rule would likely “not withstand constitutional muster.”
