    The last 6 minutes of Brian’s talk (You Tube) by itself is super humorous, especially if you’ve ever flown any kind of plane, though you should watch the entire 1h11minutes to get the full story. Then the last 6 minutes is still funny the 2nd time.
    I tried to get a speed check once for my 2008 Camry, but LA Center blew me off. I’m still pissed. Cop didn’t seem real pleased either.

    Of course, ground speed checks by ATC have not been done for years… GPS in the panel is nearly universal now, and if not in panel, a wristwatch, phone, tablet or phablet will do just fine.
    A couple of years ago a Turbocharged Cirrus taking off from Reno passed me and my Bonanza like we were standing still… a traffic call out from Center gave his closing speed to be 40+ knots. We were both headed to Vegas. He was at 15.5k feet, I was at 13.5.
    I wasn’t embarassed… had essentially the same engine, but I was lean of peak and was going for economy. Not in a hurry. Was burning maybe 9 gallons an hour, the Cirrus was probably burning 17gph.
    I’m guessing he was in a hurry to lose money in a Casino while I was taking my time getting to our second home to see my wife. We didn’t go to casinos.

    Interesting that Musk is #1 as a political figure (then Trump, DeSantis, Sanders, Biden in order). Amazon is #1 favorable institution (they do have good customer service I’ll grant you).
    Trump is +7 over Biden in Presidential election, but it’s early days.
    I wonder how their polls are actually constructed. It’s bound to be somewhat different than actual voters. It strikes me that the (D) ground game is vastly superior in terms of getting grandma in the nursing home to sign on the line that is dotted, nudging people to vote in some union shops, home delivery of mail-in ballots. That has to be worth quite a lot.
    ‘Democracy’ and it’s variants in the modern age are funny things. There seems to be a slide from voting by educated male property owners to gathering the opinions of low-functioning urban masses. Dunno which gives you better results as it’s all guessing the weight of an elephant.
    I’ll light a candle for DJT’s candidacy as a victory here would crack me up the most. It would be unlikely to change many matters in important areas, the inertia (and augering-in) is too strong, but I’d love the uproar. We should have a betting pool on how many Democrats will burn buildings, topple statues, flip cars in the event of a Trump victory. It would make for great TV.
