The Case For Making Earth Day a Religious Holiday”
I think I could live with that, but only if we did it properly.

I’m onboard…..and we heretics could celebrate 🎉 too. I’m thinking an “Immolation of the Insufficiently Pious”. Someone of no particular use to the party (….or Order if you prefer) who has been overly demonstrative regarding his lifestyle….multiple homes, a personal watercraft, and a great deal of ostentatious pirate themed, carbon spewing air travel….I’m sure you know the comrade….err….congregant. Indeed his personal appearance alone would hint strongly at sin! He having consumed enough resources for so many others.
The smoke could’ve seen for miles……and was instrumental in keeping the faithful observant and Gaia fearing for years….

We could do it twice a year. Maybe add in a harvest festival.
A thousand years from now the people of the future could marvel at a bog body with a placard stating ‘Inventor of the Internet’.
They could then get back to plowing with sticks.

Here’s another example of capitalism taking advantage of cheap child labor. Didn’t the parents know or perhaps they did and didn’t care?
“KIELER, WI – One of the nation’s largest food safety sanitation services providers has paid $1.5 million in civil money penalties after the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division found the company employed at least 102 children – from 13 to 17 years of age – in hazardous occupations and had them working overnight shifts at 13 meat processing facilities in eight states. ”

Paul – I’m not quite sure why it is you want to advertise to the world how F’n ignorant you are. Exploited people of all ages have been and are now exploited whenever and wherever a particular society allows it. “capitalism” has absolutely nothing to do with it. There is, BTW – no indication in the article that they were underpaid. Your fabricated idea they were “cheap” is not supported by fact.
Did you read the link I provided, Paul? Where are these children the Biden admin loosed on our country? Do you care? Of course you don’t.

Oh psul….you silly, silly old halfwit. You didn’t really think that the 14 year olds slaving away in those meat processing plants were going to be white children did you? No……they will be lovingly delivered unto capitalisms maw from the border by the Pride of Scranton and his Homeland Security Secretary….or Imp of Satan as he is more properly addressed Alejandro Mayorkas.
But hey…..keep thinking you’re on the right side of history….if that helps you.

Might want to start drawing any government entitlements now……no telling how long they’re going to last.

”George Friedman predicted an “American crisis”. A social crisis early in the decade, followed by a massive economic crisis, then a political crisis and a major, institutional crisis in the federal government followed by a profound change in government near the end of the decade.”

This is in near exact alignment with other predictions made by people I’m familiar with who have above average analysis and predictive track records.
    Plan accordingly.

That’s a thing I genuinely wonder about, what is a decent estimate in a drop to the dollar’s value if it loses status as a world currency? Maybe a person’s best start might be looking at the English pound over time, but so many circumstances are different. Debt. Backing by metals. Lack of crazy derivatives, money less mobile, money not traded by computer.
Plus other currencies have their own problems. What are the BRIC+ planning on doing for banking really? Maybe they could set up a currency backed by commodity values, but I really have no idea.
Settling transactions sounds like a more complicated business that you might give credit (so to speak) to.

I hope he wins…..none of the Republicans are going to be worth a shit ….all being more of the same “Big Gov” types! Frankly at this point in the American Experiment we all need to learn to appreciate the humor of a “Crash Test Dummy” as Chief Executive!

In February of 1988, he suffered two life-threatening brain aneurysms. Biden has said the experience shaped him into the “kind of man I want to be.” (Probably prudent here to do what he did and go with “generic” survivor language and not just come out and say perpetual political grifter)

I wonder if he had even the slightest clue at the time just how valuable living with profound cognitive decline would make him to the machine later in life!

I know he doesn’t live around here, if you believe what he once said. At one point he said he’s from somewhere near Sacramento but that could be fake as well. re: The Bud Light Boycott
Easiest boycott in the world. No protests, no letter writing campaign, no nasty grams sent to corporate. The right generally does not stage big demonstrations and bust up persons, places, and things to protest a product. Not our style. If you want to down some Bud Light brewskis, it’s up to you. Personally, I have had enough, thank you very much.
Depending how one defines market cap, Budweiser is a 170 billion international company and has lost only 5 billion. That is taking the share price x total shares. Some figure it a different way and come up with 130 billion. Whatever.
It is best to focus on one thing. Not let it peter out. The cost to make it all better is simple, but not easy. Expensive to the company. An apology from Anheuser-Busch to its core customers. A apology is all we ask, nothing more, nothing less.
Other companies like Nike have already factored in the costs of going Woke and won’t change a thing. It’s their core customer base so a dude without breasts modeling sports bras is A-OK with Nike. A dude with a dick modeling as the face and spokesperson of WOMEN is not ok with Bud Light consumers, albeit some don’t give a rats ass nor follow the news or even care one way or another.
Keep it up until there is a clear apology from Busch. It is amazing to me how many craft beers Budweiser owns. AB- (?) on the cans. Amazing also how many craft beers are owned 50% by Busch.
Keep the pressure up. Just one product. No death threats, no doxxing corporate individuals, fire off a e-Mail if you must, but protest with your wallet. Easy peasy.

They told us the honest to gosh truth about everything including all the latest stuff bout the Gulf of Tonkin and Dr King and how swell everything was. Ahhh remember the days when protecting citizens was job 1 for the executive branch?
TB spreads through the air, like a flu or a cold. Stand next to someone with TB for a long subway ride or sit next to them every day at school, and you can catch it. New York City’s TB rate, at 6.1 cases per 100,000, is more than double the national rate. Close to nine out of 10 (88%) of these TB cases are people born outside the United States. Every neighborhood in the city has had at least one case.
Vasan’s letter called on New York to pull out all the stops providing health care, food and legal services to migrants. Not a word about protecting the people who already live here.
Open borders import disease. Immigrants who lawfully apply for a visa must undergo health screenings and show they are vaccinated, and refugees are screened for TB before entering the U.S. Not so for those wading across the Rio Grande.
Nationwide, 6,009 of the 8,300 people with TB in 2022 were foreign-born, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Florida was slammed with a 21% increase in TB since 2020.
Texas border counties have a TB rate triple the national average. At least TB is treatable. Polio, on the other hand, can paralyze you for life.
Vasan warns that only 50% of the migrants streaming into the Big Apple are vaccinated. But an even bigger issue is the type of vaccine used in many poorer countries, which can actually spread polio.
The U.S. uses only injectable polio vaccines made with dead virus that cannot spread the disease. But many other countries use a less safe oral vaccine that contains live virus and is sometimes shed in the vaccinated person’s feces. It can then spread in sewage or on unclean hands, causing vaccine-derived cases of polio. That’s a problem in 25 countries.
