In the U.S., it is not illegal to own a flamethrower nor is it illegal to own a machine gun.
To own a machine gun, or fully automatic weapon, a person must not be considered a “prohibited person,” must be at least 21 years old, a legal resident of the U.S., eligible to purchase a firearm, pass an 8-10-month background check and pay a one-time $200 transfer tax to obtain a stamp.
Biden has previously said that the Second Amendment also banned the ownership of cannons when it was passed in 1791, but that, too, has been debunked.
“This is hard to believe,” he said. “I never thought when I started my public life that guns would be the No. 1 killer of children in America. Guns. No. 1. It’s sick and overwhelming; a majority of gun owners agree we have to do something.”

A really crazy-making US law is the one concerning suppressors. Too many people watching spy movies thinking they make guns go pew pew pew in the most silent way. In Europe, mostly an over-the-counter or minimum paperwork item.

Apparently, you might be a suspect if you
believe that books in a library or a shool need to be closely guarded and restricted, but if you want to own a firearm, or seven, you should be celebrated as a freedom loving American.
Apparently, you might be a suspect if you are obsessed over kids being able to view a statue of The David, or watching a cross-dressing dance troop, but don’t think it’s strange that firearms are not allowed at NRA events, or Trump events, but are allowed in Congress.

PRAGUE (AP) — The Czech Republic’s power company on Wednesday signed a deal with U.S. energy giant Westinghouse Electric Co. to supply nuclear fuel for the Dukovany nuclear plant, eliminating the country’s dependence on Russia for such fuel.
State-controlled power company CEZ said that Pennsylvania-based Westinghouse will start fuel deliveries to Dukovany next year.
Russia’s TVEL, which is part of Russian energy giant Rosatom, was previously the sole supplier of fuel for the Soviet-era plant.

An interesting angle to this business of activist librarians and K-6 teachers who are busy programming children, and then passing them over the transom to mutilating surgeons, is whether these age-inappropriate (and school-inappropriate) books ever include normal behavior. Are there books on first dates between normal kids (working title: “Clumsy Fumble”)? marriage? any sort of thing that a 20th C. person would think of as normal? I’ll bet not.

I guess that pushing kids away from traditional lifestyles is a hard job, but someone has to do it.

It’s funny to think about how all these champions of the mentally ill didn’t give a single thought about men-in-dresses until the last decade or so. The whole deal, or 99% of it, is obviously a trend that will die off soon enough. Poor parenting skills combined with a lack of community is as good a cause as any.

A different thought of the day.
After seeing a lot of hubbub on the net about the relationship between COVID shots and blood clots, I figured that the best way to see a relationship is to ignore the rustle of the crowd and simply watch for increases in premature deaths and (better yet) drugs which deal with those problems. Heard on the radio this morning, an ad for Eliquis. First time. One of those things to keep an eye on.

Not a tremendous paper, but I get the gist.
The interesting angle (I think) isn’t so much that they screwed up, and you’d think that the mathematics of virus spreading would be pretty well settled by now, but why.
My working theory is that the Health Nomenklatura decided to make policy rather than to inform it. How do you do that? Overstate. Obfuscate. ‘Because I told you so’. Exaggerate. Scare. Fear of embarrassment requires you to stick to your story. What follows is a natural result.
You win. You lose. Trillions were spent, millions went crazy or died needlessly, but other millions have come to realize that the people who run matters are, in the final analysis, fools. A lesson they should have learned long ago. Sometimes education can be expensive.
