Boy, do the Dems have a problem or what? Gotta feel sorry for Biden. As VP, Obama had him go down and negotiate with Congress over spending bill. Now, it’s President Biden doing the heaving lifting by himself face to face cause he has no one to negotiate with the Senate from the WH. Not really.
Omaha put VP Biden in charge of the Ebola outbreak, The Spring Recovery Tour, Ukraine, and more. But, poor Joe. Our VP ain’t up to the task. Covid, the border. Oh, she is going to a funeral.
The Dems have a problem and it ain’t going away.

    One way streets. The disunion
    THE GREAT SORT CONTINUES
    Last part:
Ziegler provided another stunning data point, noting that one million net new people have moved to the state and registered to vote since DeSantis first took office.
“Out of a million, about half a million have registered as Republican, and only 17,000 have registered as Democrats. So we’re just obliterating the Democrats,” he said.
“I did not believe it. I had to go back and redo the numbers because I just couldn’t believe it, but it ends up being true,” he added.
If the Great Sort continues, and America comes to consist mostly of hard-core red and blue states, with a diminishing number of purple battlegrounds, the possibility of disunion will become real. As I have said many times, the alternative to disunion is a rebirth of federalism. The days when New York and California could dictate policy to Texas and Florida (and many other states) are gone. If the blue states want to drive off a cliff, we may not be able to stop them. But the rest of us are not going along for the ride.

The GOP crying room is full,
The spy balloon visits while Trump was in office undermined outrage by Republicans who complained that Biden didn’t order the balloon this time around shot down quickly enough — or that he shouldn’t have allowed the balloon to enter U.S. airspace to begin with.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) falsely claimed that Trump would never have allowed a China spy balloon from reaching the U.S.
“Would Trump have let China fly a spy balloon over our country?” Rep. Jim Jordan asked on Twitter.
Craig Singleton, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told AP that Chinese surveillance balloons were sighted several times in the past five years. Some of them have been spotted near U.S. military bases in Hawaii, he said, though he did not specify when.
Trump himself joined the call for the Biden administration to destroy the most recent balloon in a message Friday on Truth Social, saying: “SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON.” But he did not discuss his own administration’s experience with China spy balloons.

    We warned them –
One of the main draws for cartels is that operating an illegal grow is only a misdemeanor offense in California and that business is cash only. Additionally, the region does not have enough law enforcement officers to patrol those grow sites and enforce laws against illegal growing operations, USA Today reported.

Hold that thought, just some creepy grampa joe deflection –
The anonymous official says, “Chinese balloons briefly transited the continental United States at least three times during the prior administration.” There’s no other details about when exactly this might’ve happened, or to what degree … namely, did they do full fly-overs???
In the wake of this Dept. of Defense official getting Trump’s name in the mix, a handful of former Trump administration officials have come out of the woodwork to deny this ever happened during his time in office. And we’re talking heavy hitters — guys who’d know.
The former Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, went on FOX News to flat-out refute what the DoD has said publicly … noting, if this had in fact happened during the Trump years like they claim — it would’ve been spotted and certainly reported by the media.
Former Sec. of Defense Mark Esper also denied that 3 Chinese spy balloons had been here before, as did ex-Sec. of State Mike Pompeo. In other words, the claim is now in contention.

    ‘History, Not Ideology’
The College Board’s recent revisions to its AP black history curriculum are proof that Ron DeSantis’s critiques were on point.
“It is, in short, exactly the sort of unsparing yet aspirational, mainstream, apolitical African-American history course that DeSantis’s critics accused him of opposing. And now that the College Board has tacked back to the middle, DeSantis’s far-left critics have dropped their masks. The Human Rights Campaign lamented the exclusion of the “names of major black writers and scholars associated with critical race theory.” The National Black Justice Coalition complained that the College Board had “removed topics of critical race theory, Black Lives Matter, Black Feminism, and the Black LGBTQ+/Same Gender Loving (LGBTQ+/SGL) experience.”
From “they’re not teaching critical race theory” to “how dare they not teach critical race theory!” Law professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, who coined the term “critical race theory,” told the New York Times she was stunned that her law review article defining the concept of “intersectionality” would not be taught to high school students.“

The balloon gap is probably the most stupid Trump v. Biden argument I’ve seen yet.

Congrats to Miss Anthrope and Don B.

The fact that there is even such a thing as an ‘illegal’ grow shows how stupid California public policy is. I’ll bet that scarcely anyone wants a legal grow because of the amount of government sticking it’s nose up your business that that entails. The whole marijuana thing was presented as an EZ way to generate more cash money to be wasted by state and local officials, the result is obvious.
Simply let Big Tobacco grow the stuff to some health standard, make sure the price crushes the folks in the woods, sell it via the retail liquor license people, done.
I just love this kind of thing. From: https://www.theunion.com/cannabis/cannabis-representatives-talk-thc-taxes/article_ebee6207-6b5c-509c-8801-40de87f7a588.html
“Let’s say cannabis flower that is grown on the ridge sold at a potential dispensary here in Grass Valley that has a 26% THC, which is considered a low THC – that business would pay and an additional 9% of gross receipts in addition to baseline of 4% of gross receipts that all consumers pay for concentrate – let’s call it a 60% concentrate of THC – the business would pay and additional 43% tax on gross receipts. There’s a business in Nevada City called Emerald Bay Extracts – they produce Rick Simpson Oil which is a high concentration of THC which helps alleviate symptoms related to cancer – that product, sold in Grass Valley would be served an additional 43% tax on their gross receipts plus the additional baseline of 4%.

It seems that the only thing more ridiculous than a County Stupidvisor is a member of a city council.

‘Intersectionality’ is one of those words I’d love to never read again. The people involved in that grift are some of the biggest con artists ever to have been created, so there is a certain genius to it all. I guess if those folks didn’t make a living being outraged and stealing money from the rest of us, they’d just wander out into traffic and get hit by a bus.

Another loss for creepy grampa joe and the luddites –
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., introduced the “Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act” last week amid the Biden administration’s discussions of proposed restrictions on gas stoves.
Their bill would prohibit the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) from advancing regulations on existing or new gas stoves that would ban their use or “would otherwise substantially increase the average price of gas stoves in the United States.”

Last week or so, I say a new one from the Transgender protestors. Can’t remember if they were protesting a professor who said the wrong thing or some ban on Drag Queens performing for children or the exact circumstances. The sign read, “No Kink Shaming.” No kink shaming.
That struck a cord. Once ‘they’ added gender identify to the mix to replace biology (science), things went from LBG to kink. And the kinkier, the better. Whole new ballgame. Kinky like Sam Brinton, a top nuclear waste official.
And of course, they must be applauded and embraced or else. More over unhealthy Fatso, it’s now no kink shaming, you bigoted homophobe heterosexual.
If you are offended by the word groomer, then you probably are one. Gays, lesbians, and Bisexuals act normal. They act like heterosexuals. Not so with the Kink.

Sixty-two percent of Americans say President Biden has not achieved much during his first two years in office, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows, despite efforts by Democratic leaders to frame that time as the most productive in Washington since Lyndon Baines Johnson’s “Great Society” agenda.
Ninety-three percent of Republicans said Biden has accomplished “not much” or “little or nothing.” That view was shared by 66 percent of Independents and only 22 percent of Democrats.
The poll shows the challenge Biden and Democrats in Congress face in selling their accomplishments to voters before the 2024 presidential election.

“This country was built on slavery, which means slaves built this country,” the song repeatedly stated in the Disney+ episode of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which reviewed the history of Juneteenth.
“The descendants of slaves continue to build it, slaves built this country and we the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for,” the children chanted.
“We made your families rich,” the sound continues. “From the southern plantation heirs to the northern bankers to the New England ship owners, the founding fathers, former presidents, current senators, the Illuminati, the New World Order.”
Manhattan Institute fellow Christ Rufo shared a clip of the episode on Twitter, calling it “pure critical race theory.” The song also promoted the idea that President Abraham Lincoln did not actually free the slaves.

lol. Yeah, I had seen that before. Don’t know that gotchas really make any difference, even when there are scads of them, but it’s funny in any case.
It seems to me that applying a simple model to ‘Progressive’ behavior keeps it all in perspective. While they might actually believe in all their feelz, I think the primary point is just accumulation of status and money. Those folks are simply working what they’ve got in order to keep some non-profit alive, some grant money flowing, a position in the Big Company Inc. DEI Department, control of a government agency. They would easily slot into some apparatchik gig in 1930 Russia rubberstamping God knows what, the actual belief system is unimportant.
One central problem is that if you don’t know how to do anything observably useful, are unwilling or unable to learn, and don’t want to be a washerwoman (or washerman-in-a-dress), you have to take advantage of a movement. Naturally, most of the power here only exists to the extent we give it power. If you kneel, it wins. Where the rubber hits the road is in capture of monopolistic organizations…government, extremely large companies, the education-industrial complex…as they are much harder to ignore, and the first one is armed.

I don’t know how, in current US law, attempting to rile up a group of people to physically confront a public official is treated. Do SCOTUS members get special protection? In days of yore, if you stood on your soapbox and shouted at a crowd to go over to a Justice’s house and give ’em what for, it probably fell under some existing statute. The internet adds a funny twist. Is it accosting? does the resulting mob accost? is Nancy Mace accosting (answer: yes)? What is the illegal part? What is the immoral part?
Truth is, the person questioned is a mentally ill dude who somehow has found a sweet grifter living feeding on outrage. To some extent, you have to give crazy people a pass. I’m more mad at all of us together for allowing those people a platform, money, and some power.

“But here she, and Bongino is echoing and amplifying in a very partisan way, is using the word “accost” incorrectly as a way to play to her base.”
She was using the ‘accost’ in correct way according to your definition. The hearings were all about rhetoric. Rhetoric. Violent rhetoric. The kind of rhetoric that says the Supreme Court Justices (some) should NEVER know peace. Never? Not even for 5 minutes. That’s violent rhetoric and we all know words will trigger people who hear that kind of rhetoric, like the guy that tried to assassinate Associate Justice Brent Kananaugh.
    accost
    – to approach and speak to (someone) in an often challenging or aggressive way.
Hmm. Like saying (tweeting) that a member of SCOTUS could not have a peaceful moment? Not even two minutes.? Never ever? That sounds like to approach and speak to (someone) in an often challenging or aggressive way. Very aggressive, IHMO.
I am all for feee speech. Sure, you can’t threaten someone, but besides that and a few libel stuff, I see the answer to free speech is more free speech. I can’t approach you and say 1) “I am going to fuck you up”, but I can say, “F off or F off and die motherfucker or go F yourself..” The first is a threat of bodily harm, the others are free speech.
The right to protest? Yes, we have a guaranteed right to “peacefully assemble”. Peacefully is the operative word. Yes, there may be required permits to obtain first in various locales….especially if it is going to impede traffic or block roads. And there can be reasonable curfews on right peacefully assembly.
The obvious point of Bongino’s clip was if you are going to denounce hate speech or what have you and even try to censor said speech, then you best clean up your side of the street first.
The witness testifying to the Committee did not have her free speech or right to peacefully assemble impeded at all.
Speech, as all actions do, have consequences. She can say what she (the anti-Supreme Court lady) feels like and I and Dan and Nancy Mace can say what she feels like. There is no right that one’s rhetoric will go unchallenged or the opposing views cannot be heard.

This is not the lamestream racist party line its the direct impact of the defund the police, blm woke bullshit that makes cops flee dem cities. Plain and simple. –
That points to a dangerous confluence of trends that Memphis’ police chief acknowledged have dogged the department as the city became one of the nation’s murder hotspots: a chronic shortage of officers, especially supervisors, increasing numbers of police quitting and a struggle to bring in qualified recruits.
Former Memphis police recruiters told The Associated Press of a growing desperation to fill hundreds of slots in recent years that drove the department to increase incentives and lower its standards.
“They would allow just pretty much anybody to be a police officer because they just want these numbers,” said Alvin Davis, a former lieutenant in charge of recruiting before he retired last year out of frustration. “They’re not ready for it.”

Yes, the headlines say massive layoffs or employees given the boot, put the devil is in the details. 7% of the work force here, 125 employees laid off out of 20, 000 total there, and the stories repeat themselves. Just small fractions compared to the whole.
And yet, collectively, tech has dumped 200,000 jobs….which is no small number. Media axes a few here and there, and yet it seems like they are going under, never to darken our eyes again. Wa Po cuts it’s weekend ‘Prospector’ magazine and bleeds money…yet it ain’t going anywhere.

Masks had no benefit. Wonder how many people in GV and Nivarna City who boycotted restaurants and establishments forever because of not having a mandatory mask up policy
(AND showing what the establishments really felt about their fellow man) are still boycotting the places? “I will never eat at Sour Dough & Co again!”- Little Kenny J
Just wondering. But it was great for virtue signaling, lol. Only the selfish assholes who do not care on iota about their neighbors refuse to mask up. Right……
    One mo time.

Already bored by creepy grampa joe –
Less than 30 million people watched President Biden’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The number of total viewers is down significantly from the 38 million who watched Biden’s speech last year and is almost half the 45.6 million who watched former President Trump’s first address in 2018.

ONLY SOCIALISTS CAN TEACH OUR STUDENTS?
From Virginia, an appalling story: a woman appointed to the state’s Board of Eduction by Governor Youngkin was voted down by the Virginia Senate because she believes in America and opposes socialism:

“This is a desperate, frivolous, and laughable attempt to silence political critics of President Biden and his corrupt family,” he said. “It won’t work, and it will backfire—legally and politically—on the Bidens.”
“I hope Hunter Biden is stupid enough to file a lawsuit, because the discovery—including Hunter’s videotaped deposition—will be manna from Heaven,” Davis added.
