   Election 2022:
   It’s getting out there. I want to make it clear that I am not as confident as my links portray about a red tsunami sweeping over the land. Too many squeakers and no matter what, I have a hard time believing that, say, New Yorkers statewide (including the Big Apple will put a Republican in the Empire State’s Governor’s Mansion. So, I have no predications. I have seen stranger things. Carter blew his steady 10- 14 point against Reagan in the last 3 days. Too many close races for comfort.
   Now, tea leafs time:
   With that said, generally and recent history of 2020 and 2016, the majority of those who are the earliest to mail in ballots are Dems and the ones who stand in line in sometimes bad weather are R’s who cast their ballots at the voting booth.
   Nevada 2020. Clark County (Vegas) had the Dems leading by 15 in early voting, Biden won by 2.2%(?).
   This year, 2022. Clark County has early voting Dems up by 8.5%.
   This trend is also true in other swing states. 2020 Georgia. Early voting in top three urban counties up 15% Dem in early voting.
   2022: Dems up 8.6% and the third largest metro area have early voting tied.
   Add Philly. 2020, D’s up 15% in early voting. 2022: Dems up 9% in Philly. Add other swing states or districts from Ore to Dade County, FL. Ohio? Yes.
   PS: huge factor is enthusiasm gap and R turnout. What to do if you are up by 2 and the opposing party is more fired up by 20%? I won’t predict 54 or 53 or 52 Republican Senators…..but it would be nice to hold what we got and add two. 2022 is a tough lineup for 2022 R senate candidates, but 2024 looks much more favorable for the Senate. Much more. 🙂
   Maybe Dr. Rebane will start a Senate pool. Over/under is 50….or not.

    This, from NBC, not FOX or The Blaze, NBC:
    “NBC reported new details re: Pelosi attack:
    – Pelosi answered door, didn’t “declare an emergency or try to leave his home,” instead walked toward the assailant
    – Pelosi & DePape were in house for 30 minutes before police arrived
    Court documents obtained by NBC reveal that when police asked the assailant, David DePape, what was happening, he “calmly greeted them” and said “everything’s good.” DePape and Pelosi then began wrestling for control of a hammer, which DePape eventually used to strike Pelosi in the head, fracturing his skull.
    But then:
    Hours after the segment aired live on NBC, it was deleted from the Today Show website and an editor’s note was appended to the page.
    ““The piece should not have aired because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards,” the editor’s note reads.”
    The reporting standards for NBC are basically to report only what is allowed by the current govt in DC.

    re Don 6:54 – Sounds swell from your point of view. How do you think the LSM will present it to the public?
    Not the way you have it. The R’s consistently fumble away the narrative to the Lefty press.
    I have serious doubts that the R’s will do little more than stop the Dems from additional harm to the country. They have rarely shown the spine to really upend the Dem’s steady march towards federalization of our country.
    The R’s will need to:
    Push the full weight of the congress towards getting rid of the fed govt passing regs based on AGW nonsense.
    Throw out the so-called Inflation Reduction Act.
    Rescind the additional money to the IRS.
    Cut the budget to the FBI to zero and call the leaders on the carpet and grill them for days in public.
    Eliminate several depts such as the Dept Of Education.
    Pass laws making it clear that if state governors want to shut down the economy of their state then the state can expect zero money from the feds to help out.
    They might say that Biden will veto these actions – fine – let him. At least everyone will see exactly who stands for what.
    Let Biden be the one to “shut down” the fed govt.
    Folks will quickly see how little they miss the tender mercies of the feds.

    A longtime New York City Council insider noted that some Democrats on the council who publicly support Hochul are privately voting for Zeldin. The city council insider told the Post:
    Many of [Adams’ people] are pulling for Lee Zeldin, because they agree with him on a number of issues. There’s even a few Council members who are Democrats and privately snicker that they will be voting for Zeldin — some of whom have endorsed Hochul. I would swear on a Bible on this.
    The Post’s report comes just one day after CNN reported that New York Democrat officials and strategists are bracing for deep losses in the state, including in the gubernatorial election.
    New York Democrats are reportedly concerned about crime and how the Republicans have positioned themselves as voters’ tough-on-crime alternative.
    As Breitbart News detailed:
    For example, an October poll found that 77 percent of Americans see violent crime as a significant problem in the country. In addition, a recent Pew Research Center poll found that black voters, who historically are a solid blue voting bloc, are concerned about violent crime more than other ethnic groups, with 81 percent of black Americans seeing it as a very important issue when considering who to vote for next week.
    When looking at who voters blame the ongoing crime wave on, an October Harvard/Harris poll found that 64 percent of voters say, “woke politicians” are responsible, with a majority of Democrat voters feeling that way too.
    New York Democrats passed a law in 2019 to eliminate cash bail; since then, auto theft, robberies, and rape have skyrocketed. Further, 211 people were arrested at least three times for burglary, and 899 people were arrested at least three times for shoplifting in the first half of 2022, according to New York Police Department numbers.
    Adams has been an outspoken critic of the state’s 2019 bail reform law and urged Hochul to call a special legislative session to address the law.
    Zeldin has openly acknowledged that Adams would be “an important ally in the efforts to overhaul cashless bail in New York.”

    Wednesday my propane delivery arrives. My small 250 gal tank is still half full from the last delivery during the early year blackout and mega storm that cost 50 Bucks A Day to run a propane generator.
    Not this year. As soon as I heard about the diesel shortage, I scheduled my delivery so that the propane trucks would still have diesel to bring me the gas. Imagine ordering a delivery of propane when you are out, the weather freezing, the power out and no diesel for the propane trucks…..or for school buses, our railway system, and the super markets.
